This or that

Muenster, string cheese and longhorn colby today. It's a wacky mishmash of cheese.

1. Movies or Music?
2. Milkshake or Malt?
3. Lessons: Skydiving or Ballroom Dancing?
4. White or brown gravy?

1. I love watching movies. I also love listening to music and going to a concert but my fave would be a good movie at home.

2. Milkshake. Yummy.

3. Definitely ballroom dancing. One day I'll do it. Skydiving? NO WAY! DH used to skydive, thankfully before I met him. He'd done over 600 dives.

4. Brown gravy. White gravy? Blech.

4. White. But I'm not big into gravy.

Why are you doing this to me?!

Can't I just have "All of the above" and not have to make any choices?

Besides, all of these depend on the context.

*wonders what kind of gravy they use for poutine*

1. Too hard! I can't choose! Argh, ok, music.

2. My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard. Or something like that.

3. Ballroom dancing, for sure. No way I'm jumping out of a plane.

4. White gravy? Never seen it. I'm not much of a gravy person though.

ack.

1. IF somebody made me choose, I'd have to go with music.

2. I'm not sure what the difference is. I thought malts were like in the 50's.

3. hmmm... skydiving. But I'd love to do both.

4. Brown gravy. This was the only question that didn't make me think at all. :-)

All the gravy down here is white. *puke*

The gravy they use for poutine is brown and is THE BESTEST gravy evah!

Malts have malted milk syrup or powder in them. Shakes do not.

1. What the heck kind of Sophie's Choice question is this?

2. Mmmmmmmmm-milkshake! But we call the Frappes here)

3. Ballroom! Funny thing is, both hubby and I had to take this as kids.

4. Brown.

1. Music - I love watching concerts on my big-assed HD TV with surround sound.

2. Milkshake - I am also perplexed by the "Malt" option. Up here, everything is a milkshake.

3. Hmmmm.... I think I'd go with ballroom dancing here (although I'd love to do both). Meemo likes to boogie, even if it's in the refined ballroom mode.

4. Most definitely brown.

Do you get the RAVE channel, Meemo? It's our favorite HD channel.

1. Movies, if I have to choose.

2. Milkshake. I detest malt and will not drink a malted milkshake.

3. Ballroom dancing. The clothes are way prettier and I feel too old to take up sky-diving.

4. You mean that Southern white gravey carp? No way. Altho I do like a nice white sauce.

1. Depends on what mood I am in, and how much time I have. I listen to music all the time, but love a good chick flick when I have the time.

2. Malt, although I won't turn down a milkshake either
3. I already know how to Ballroom Dance, so I will take the skydiving lessons.
4. Brown gravy. White is not an attractive color for gravy.

*waltz's out of blog*

1. Movies, but only rentals to watch at home. I don't go to theatres.

2. What's a malt?

3. Ballroom dancing. Hate flying

4. Isn't white gravy Alfredo Sauce? Prefer brown by far. All over mashed potatoes. With a little well of melted butter hidden inside so when you squish the pile pf mashed potatoes it splurges all over the place. Mmmmmmmmmm

This is short enough I'll answer all of them.

1. Movies
2. Milkshake
3. Lessons: Skydiving (even though it terrifies me, I think I would like to try it)
4. Brown gravy

Curiously, the malt seems to be a U.S. thing.

And the white gravy seems to puzzle many. It's often called "country" gravy. It's basically a roux based flour/milk/ butter loaded with pepper. In the southern U.S. you find it a lot with fried foods (country fried steak, chicken, fried pork chops) and mashed potatoes.

In Canada they used to be called malted milkshakes. You ordered them by that name. Malt is an additive (the same malt that helps give beer it's distinctive flavor.) You can add it to any flavor of milkshake.

Around here anyway, fast food shakes are not malted. Most people drink FF shakes, right?
