Have some fontina and smoked cheddar with apple slices.
Chris did all the dishes last night without being asked. Even hand washed the things that require hand washing. How cool is that? I call that starting the new year on the right foot.
I've been reading a lot of magazines lately. It soothes my soul.
I've been making sure we have some quick meals around the house so I don't stress when we get home late. Normally it would call for a frozen pizza, but I'm trying for some healthier options. Soup and sandwiches can make a good dinner and lunch the next day.
*sips coffee* I'm relaxed now. When my math class starts on the 22nd, I know I'll feel the frenzy, so I might as well prepare now.

Since Michelle has been on WW, she mostly eats a frozen WW meal for lunch and for dinner. I'm going to start doing that next week as well.
I have been finding some sort of solice in all of my Sudoku and Sudoku related puzzles. Either online or in books that I got. I think that keeping my mind busy with logic games really helps me to relax. I spent about 3 hours doing puzzles last night and I felt very content when I fell asleep.
Gah. We aren't going to talk about food. Because I'm trying to stay away from white cheddar popcorn and goldfish today. They are taunting me.
I've been playing my little MahJong puzzles at night lately. It's relaxing, but I'm getting bored with it. I've got to get to the bookstore soon.
Try spider solitaire.
Spider solitare sounds creepy.
Yay Chris. I love it when DH does that. Wait a minute. He never does that LOL. He does empty the dishwasher which I really hate doing.
I've been finishing up all the magazines I bought to read on the plane during my travels. I'm desperate to get into a really good book.
I need to make some meals that I can freeze for during the week. We get home later now that we live further from work and sometimes I'm just too tired to cook.
Math class? What's that all about?
I got a C in my last math course and B in my previous one. It doesn't look good to the schools/departments here that I want to apply to. One advisor suggested I take a class to show I can pull a good grade in it. The program I want to apply will accept my GPA, however, average undergrad GPAs of those accepted into the graduate program are 3.6...slightly higher than my undergrad GPA. Plus, I'll have to take the GRE exam for grad school entrance and it has a math section. A little brush up wouldn't hurt.
The bonus of this is that it will help me decide if I'm ready to jump back into courses. The class meets M-Th for an hour each morning (3 class sessions and one lab). My boss is giving me the time off work, so theoretically, I shouldn't have to rearrange my life schedule.
GPA? GRE?
*eyes glaze over*
:-)
I really admire your determination Kim. Good luck!!! It's terrific that your boss is giving you the time off. I love it when companies allow that for furthering ones education.
If you ever need help, I know an EXCELLENT math tutor.
He's cute too.
Yay Chris! I love it when DH does stuff around the house.
I like the chicken WW meal with the green beans. And also the pasta with brocolli.
*yum* I need to get to the store. Also, I recently read that lots of cereals are good diet foods. Low calorie and fat, I guess.
*goes to eat some cheerios*
I've been munching on Weight Watchers Flakes & Fiber every work day around 10:00. I use a disposable small cup to control the portion. It's 90 cal, 2 g fat (all unsaturated), 9 g fiber and 1 g sugars in half a cup.
And yes, I'd like to borrow Jason. :-)
masterbation. lots of it.
or is it masturbation?
my fingers are tired.
Zombie, I was hoping something better than masturbation on your birthday!
What magazines do you read, Kim? I like EW and we get Newsweek, altho I read less & less of it these days. I am sick of Iraq and I am sick of Bush Admin stuff - which takes up about 1/2 of Newsweek.
I love the picture puzzles in the back of Life magazine. I bought myself their little picture puzzle book for Xmas but if I do more than 5 or 6 at a time my eyes start to cross. The genius level puzzles are wicked.
I read Time (feel same as you do about Newsweek, although it's nice to get a full "summary" of some issues that I only get pieces of on the news). I get Reader's Digest, too. It's mostly fluff, but it's good to kill a few moments.
I've also started checking out Prevention, Real Simple and Weight Watcher's magazine from the library. My subscription to Health starts next month.
Ooh, and Marie Claire. I've been getting them because my free Budget Living subscription was suspended due to the mag going out of business. Marie Claire finished the subscription period. It's not bad. The fashion pieces at the end are meaningless to me, but they do some great global stories and try to promote "real" women.
Morning!
Don't you love it when they do things 100%? It makes me happy to see them washing away.
I'm all about the quick meal. Actually, I'm all about making big meals so we can have one set of leftovers.
Math? You are supah brave. I hate math.
Yay for Chris!!
Michael would do the dishes if I asked. And he usually will start to do them during the holiday dinners.
I love WW and Lean Cuisines. I've been trying to keep them on hand for lunches during the week and especially on the weekends.
