I am going out for a fancy dinner tomorrow night. We have a $150 gift certificate and are dining with another couple that has a $75 gift certificate. Thus, we'll be partaking in appetizers, entrees, sides and dessert (not to mention lots of drinks!). Help me pick some good items. I'm so indecisive.
We are going to Fleming's Steak House and Wine Bar. http://www.flemingssteakhouse.com/
I can't copy & paste the menu, so please visit the site.
This post is the appetizer post. Please post your two favorite choices from their appetizer menu. We are not getting the seafood tower, as I hear it's $90.

Oh crab cakes definately and DH would probably get the cajun shrimp and then we would split.
But the onion soup is always a big hit.
Too much cheese on there for a steak house. Too heavy IMO pre-steak dinner!
OMH!
The crab cakes and the tenderloin are my votes. The menu looks fantastic. If I were a salmon lover, I would have chosen the bruschetta.
Have a great time and please report back with how wonderful my choices were. :D
I can not choose just two. I want one of everything.
Duh, the cheese.
You might want to balance that out with a lot of fiber later on. And coffee.
Isn't the menu great?
I KNOW I want the salmon bruschetta, but I know we'll have more than one appetizer. Everyone in our party has VERY similar tastes in food.
Sounds like the crab cakes are getting a lot of votes.
I'm not reading anybody else's recommendations first because I want to offer an unbiased opinion. I would go for:
Sweet Chile Calamari
Lobster Tempura
I'm curious about the crab cakes. Where does the crab come from?
Are we going to have an entree post later on?
Good point HD. I wonder now about seafood in Wisconsin!
I avoid it just in Lake George upstate NY.
Oh are we going to the whole menu?
Is this the dieter's menu? *glares*
I choose baked brie and lobster tempura.
French onion soup and lobster tempura!
Glad someone is voting for the lobster tempura. That was another really appealing thing.
Seafood in good WI restaurants is usually from fresh frozen suppliers on the coasts or at high end restaurants, it's overnighted to the region.
Yes, but unless it is Maryland crab, you do not want the crab cakes.
I would chose the Cajun BBQ shrimp and the baked brie. Since you say I can't get the seafood tower.
*tries to remember what Weltek ordered at TuTuTango Cafe*
Crab cakes, lobster anything sound good to me!
*drool*
I'm having something soft for supper. Stupid broken tooth and frozen mouth.
Hey! I think I'm going here next week. One of our manufacturers is taking us all out to dinner.
I don't usually order appetizers and I don't like seafood, so I would have to go with the brie whatever thing. I would order that myself, but I'm not supposed to eat nuts.
I'll be a rebel and go for shrimp cocktail and the ahi tuna.
Both seem nice and light, which gives you a fighting chance at desert.
The cheese I want for dessert. For an appetizer I think I'd go for the Seafood tower. A little bit of everything I love.
Do I have to order an entree after?
