Boo's Big Give on OT made me think about a few cash scenarios. WWYD?
1) You been given $10,000 to spend towards a vehicle today. You must go buy one. What would you do? Would you trade in your current car? Would you buy a car you've been coveting and make up the difference with a loan? Would you buy something used with the cash?
2) You've been given $3,000 for a vacation for two. Where would you go and who would you take? Would you put this towards a bigger vacation or try to stick to the $3000?

Slowing down
Have you noticed drivers going slower these days?
I get the whole saving gas mileage thing, but really...52 on a two-lane road? Makes it really difficult for the rest of us. Can't we all agree that 57 or so would be a good compromise? Worse yet are those that have decided they don't want to use their cruise control. Makes it hard to save gas when you aren't maintaining a constant speed, assholes. 50, 58, 54, 48, 55, 58...yeah, it's hard for me to keep a pleasant mood when I keep almost ramming into your back end from your constant slowing and speeding up.
I'm not such a fan of driving right now. Wish a bus ran closer to our direction.

WWYD?
I have a few What Would You Do questions:
1. You go camping every Memorial Day (since like 20 years ago). You make reservations a year in advance because it's hard to get in to state parks. Your son plays in a very competitive youth soccer league, but he doesn't have games scheduled for that weekend. However, a few early games were cancelled due to weather and three weeks before Memorial Day, the coaches announce a tournament the team will play in over Memorial Day weekend. Plus, there's a Thursday night game.
WWYD?
2. You are camping with your 13 year old daughter. Just you and her in a tent, but Kim & Chris are in the site next to you. Rain is expected and you are under a tornado watch. Severe storms are going north of the campground and not much is expected at the campsite, however, you never know. The ranger comes through the sites at 10 p.m. with a siren on, informing everyone of the storms and that they need to find shelter if the horn blares overnight. Your daughter starts hyperventilating and freaking out. She tries to calm down, but is still upset. She wants to pack up and go home (home is 2 hours away).
WWYD?
Tough parenting choices.

Tagged & Stuff
First, a few points of business.
1. I will be out of town for a few days. Don't tell Lightsy's neighbor kid. *kicks neighbor kid* And please try to have a little fun while I'm gone. It's a holiday weekend, after all. I'll be camping, so when I return, will you all itch my bug bites?
2. Thanks to all the acknowledgement about the cds! *smooches* I was glad to do something fun. Speaking of, who is going to do our 2nd annual t-shirt swap??? Monsty, will you return to do it???
3. I was tagged by MM!
The rules:
a. Link to the person who tagged you.
b. Post the rules on your blog.
c. Write six random things about yourself.
d. Tag six random people at the end of your post by linking to their blogs.
e. Let each person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment at their blog.
f. Let your tagger know when your entry is up.
My Six Randoms:
1. I hate checking my cell phone voice mail and my work answering machine
2. I'm not a huge phone chatter, but wish I was. I would call my bloggy friends more. I hate calling people because I always assume I'm interupting them.
3. I just had a brat for breakfast. It's Brat Fest in Madison starting today and it's a tradition to have morning brats. Think breakfast sausage and bread and it's not so gross. Now I can't eat anything more than effing veggies the rest of the day.
4. I'm starting a book called Forgotten Soldier this weekend. Chris has been wanting me to read it.
5. I'm dressed sloppy today because we leave at 11 for camping. I am hiding in my office because I'm embarassed about how I'm dressed, but not embarassed enough to wear nice clothes to work and then change before we leave.
6. I'm a slob when it comes to my desk. I have papers everywhere, no office supply organization in my drawers, and only file about twice per year.
I tag:
Arkie
Bob
Boo
Zombie
mom2bjm
I'm too lazy to look for more peeps to tag and also to link peeps (plus I don't know if everyone is uber public).

I didn't wear deoderant today
Yep, mammogram time! I had my first mammo today. We started early due to family history. Wow do they make you contort in odd positions. I wonder, how to peeps with no boobage get mammos?
Oh, and I'm loving the deoderant wipes they give you. I was paranoid I'd get back to work and forget to put deoderant on.

Weekend thoughts
1. Going out in the town you grew up in can be very sad. We went out with a friend Saturday night and it reinforced why I could never live there. We are 30 miles away and sometimes that seems to close. I played "Round Here" by the Counting Crows on the jukebox at one bar. I don't think they got the symbolism.
2. If you eat guacamole, do you prefer it chunky (hand mashed) or smooth?
3. I love pancake breakfasts for charity. I will gladly give you money to feed me pancakes.
4. Planes are cool. I'm glad it's Chris's newest hobby...I just wish it were cheaper. I like looking at all the newer and older planes.
5. Did you know you should wax your metal outdoor furniture to help keep the finish looking good? We did our daybed this weekend. Next time, I will not use the green Turtle Wax. I'm buying the clear liquid stuff. There are too many nooks and crannies for Turtle Wax.

Grad School Acceptance
Gotta love programs targeted at working adults. I swear my master's degree program is from the UW system, not some fly-by-night school! About three days after applying, I was accepted. *snort* I'm now a student in the Master's of Education program with a concentration in Professional Development and Adult Education.
I'd like to thank the lesbo and the midget for helping me revise my essay. I expect bravie to be along in her flannel gown soon.
I also owe some thanks to OT peeps and blog peeps that shared stories of deciding to "just do it" and having no regrets. It really helped me take the plunge.

CD
I'm back in the swing of normal life. Our Rib Cookoff this weekend was fun, but I'm glad it's all over. From now until Memorial Day weekend, we have no concrete plans. I'm looking forward to lazily weeding the flower beds and reading on the patio.
Anywhoooo...back to the bloggy cd thing. Here are the peeps I'm mailing to today, or whenever I get your addresses:
Puffy (I was a little delayed and only got four out last week before I left)
Bravie (do you want it sent to home or work?)
MM (need your address)
Bob (need your address)
I don't think I got a sense of who else wanted them (aside from those that got them last week). Please email me with your address if I might not have it.

Brrrrrrr
Pbbt. It was supposed to be 79 degrees today in Wisconsin. Instead, I'm here shivering in San Diego. Who stole the sunshine?
I'm luckily at a beautiful resort right on a little bay. We sipped drinks at the tiki bar this afternoon and watched fish and birds.
I've also decided I'm at a very happy mental place when I'm traveling alone, particularly in first class. I have my own sufficient space, relative quiet, and can look down at the land. The free food and booze also helps. But seriously, I'm very happy and peaceful when there. It's weird. I really like that time to be me.
I have a travel companion, but we aren't seated together. I kind of hate traveling on airplanes and through airports with other companions. I like being by myself, eating when I want, reading when I want, NOT TALKING. I enjoy quiet. I know for this short span of time, there's no crisis I'm expected to handle, my cell is off, nobody needs to talk to me...and the world stands a bit still for me.

Meatloaf!
Today? I've crossed off everything on my to-do-this-week list, so now I'll work on bloggy cds. I have to do them at work because downloading songs is too slow at home. So I'll put the three new songs on and make copies today to mail out.
This weekend we are moving MIL (in the rain) and finishing the deck. Today the daybed for the deck arrives. Yay!

I had leftover meatloaf for lunch. Do you like meatloaf? How do you make it? Standard way, or with other meats, seasonings, etc? Mine is a little different every time.

Hurling
Tossing cookies, puking, blowing chunks, whatever your term of choice is....Nice topic, huh?!
At what age did your children learn that you go to the bathroom if you think you might vomit? For those with special needs kids, did they learn that at a much later age?
This post brought to you by Rocky Rococo's Pizza.
