Grilled mozzarella and tomato sandwiches today. MMMMmmmm.
We almost finished the patio this weekend. We worked our butts off yesterday. We were short a piece of edging and some stakes, so we'll finish that up tonight. Then we'll have to put more locking sand down. THEN it will be officially finished. Whew!
We dined out a lot this weekend. Saturday night we went to a nice restaurant with friends. I had the worst salmon of my life. Sunday we took a lunch break to our local bar for a sandwich. Good stuff. Brew City fries are some of my favorite things ever. I was good, though, and we just shared one order.
We stopped at some hick bars on Saturday night after dinner (the restaurant was in a small country town). My friend proceeded to get almost angry at the patrons for being "so pathetic." She didn't say anything in public, but ranted in the car about it. I didn't think her attitude was called for. It was extremely judgemental. Of course, I laughed at a mullet and a guy wearing rubber knee boots...and I recently shared the story of my BIL & SIL with the semi trailers in their yard. Am I a hypocrite? I somehow think it's different, but maybe it's not. Whatever your opinion, I refuse to take back my laughing at the mullet.

ew. *pushes tomatoes away*
I've decided I am sick of salmon.
Hick bars are the best bars.
Thanks, the sandwich made me feel better.
I think your friend could have done a better job of trying to enjoy the hick bar experience and filed away a few juicy tidbits to talk about sometime at a cocktail party.
I agree about hick bars. While I love a nice fancy bar, hick bars give you the BEST people watching experiences that should be enjoyed. It gives perspective on the many kinds of people across the country.
I hate your friend. She is pathetic.
Bob <--- owns gumboots
LOL. Bob, do you wear your gum boots to the bars?
I'm having a cheese and tomatoe sammich for lunch today.
You must be so relieved that the patio is just about done. I can't wait to see pictures. Are you satisfied with the results?
I made salmon for dinner last night. It was yummy.
I agree with HD that your friend should have tried to just enjoy the experience. Why get angry? I wouldn't be able to resist laughing at a mullet myself. Mind you, I'd probably be afraid to go into a hick bar around here.
Hick Bar? Endless hours of entertainment.
And it's even better of there is a hick band playing.
Hick bar karaoke is one of my very favorite things to watch.
Mullets went out of style?
*runs out to change hairstyle*
What about cheese and pickle? You never do cheese and pickle. *pout*
I've never been to a hick bar. I think I should try one out, before I can answer here, however, if the patrons were all like David and Mary (TAR), I might have laughed at them too.
Does that make me mean?
No pickles allowed!
Meanie.
Hey! Where did my post go!
*shouts*
I want a pickle! I want a pickle!
(The above may or may not be code)
My DD's BF has a mullet you may laugh at. He is proud of the damn thing.
I too am sick of salmon. I want to learn to cook monkfish because it has such a cool name.
I had a big Polish dill pickle last night. Which may also be code.
*someone has to say it*
I didn't know Mr. Swami was polish.
*gives Nookie the pickle she wants* <--code
Yes, Mr Swami is of Polish heritage. However, you have to capitalize it so as to not confuse him with shoe polish.
*takes a bite of MM's funny tasting pickle*
LOL...I never considered the Polish vs. polish thing!
*reads comments*
*spits out pickle*
