Sticking with the theme, lets have a tray of cheese today filled with provolone, aged cheddar, brick and pepperjack.
Just some random stuff:
1) I love campfires. Friday night was fun with my sister's family. We roasted some chicken & apple sausages (Emeril's) and pizza pudgie pies (hobo pies, camper pies, whatever).
2) My boss keeps flitting in my office...she's been gone for a week. This makes it difficult to finish my blog entry.
3) Our chili only got third place in the chili cookoff this year (the same recipe won last year). Everybody brought their chili cooking up a notch this year & there were some tasty ones.
4) Seriously, that's like 10 times she's walked in during a 20 minute period. Seriously.
5) I'm making mass amounts of egg rolls tonight. Wrappers were on clearance for 50 cents.
6) Chris might be tv & stereo system shopping this week. American TV has 0% interest financing thru 2008.
7) Now she's sitting in my office going through journals.
Guess that's my cue to sign off.

Get back to work!
Bob <--sad that she didn't get any campfire food.
May I have some food please? If you say yes I will make your boss disappear.
Don't you hate it when they interrupt. I have two of 'em in here constantly.
What will you be putting in these egg rolls? I'll have some that don't have shrimp.
Your camping sounds like fun. Not my "current day" fun, but back in my "outdoorsy day" fun. Especially the food.
Perhaps I could send Conner to the TV store with Chris. Believe me, that would make for a short trip.
We took him to Best Buy on Saturday. He was pushing all of the music buttons in the car stereo section and then standing in the middle of the floor dancing. When I told him "Solid Gold" was over, he freaked. We had to leave quickly.
Mmmmm hobo pies. nummy.
I was off for the whole week last week. My boss decided that it would be prudent to schedule a meeting for me with one of my agents at 9:00 the morning I get back from vacation and NOT.TELL.ME. I was totally unprepared and caught off guard. I HATE THAT!!!
I'll have a hobo pie please and thank you.
Great-I asked for a computer tech to help me with one little thing (My Excel docs weren't opening)...and now he's been in and out all morning doing different tweaks to my computer. He fixed the Excel problem right away, but found all sorts of other things to fix. *frowny face*
*pouts* & *waits for the Cheesehead to get the annoying peeps out of her office*
*eats some cheddar while I wait*
I think they are gone for awhile *keeps fingers crossed*
Now, I can resume my perusing of blogs. And I can tell you that I'd really like a brownie right now.
I just happen to have a brownie right here. But I'm so proud of you that I'm not going to give it to you.
I love chili. Do you have a secret recipe? Do you enter cook-offs often? Do you always use the same recipe? Do you make your own chile powder or buy some extra special fancy powder somewhere? What kind of meat? Is lard involved? How long does it cook?
*pouts at Boo*
MTW-I apparently excited you about chili talk. :-)
We've never written down a recipe in our lives. Chris forgot the cumin, salt and black pepper, so our recipe wasn't very accurate from last year.
Our usual chili:
ground beef
black beans
chili hot beans
diced tomatoes
crush tomatoes
tomato sauce
onions
bell peppers
mushrooms
chili powder
cumin
brown sugar
garlic
blended chipotle in adobo sauce
banana pepper
liquid smoke
Occassional changes:
maple syrup
oregano
different hot peppers
chopped steak
pinto beans
This years (and last years) competition chili included 3 meats: chorizo, andoullie and shredded chicken
Chili powder: Have been using Tastefully Simple's Wahoo chili powder. Otherwise, I like Penzey's (online and has some retail stores in the US-one right by my work)
Lard: Fortunately for my waistline, none. Although when we talk tamales...we can talk lard.
Those pesky bosses. Mine walked in to talk politics while I was trying to finish my novel!
I saw wehre you called me a nerd. I am not a nerd. A dork, perhaps. But not a nerd. *stomps off*
*looks at carey's avatar*
*rolls eyes*
We indeed are going tv shopping in a bit...and apparently stereo equipment shopping while we are at it. And to think, I didn't bring a good book to read.
Is Connor ready to come over & 'help' Chris?
