No, this topic is not about oobies. This is about the fine new silicone products available for your kitchen. I bought a bunch of silicone utensils & love them. They are sturdy yet still flexible. And being dishwasher safe is a biggie for me.
My sister has a loaf pan & reportedly loved it. I therefore bought a mini-muffin pan. The other day I went searching for a regular muffin pan as a gift for my sister. The solid piece silicone pans were $15-20. Obviously they aren't particularly rigid, so you'd need to put it on a cookie sheet for baking. So one company made a metal frame for the pans. The frame & silicone pan set was $30. Then I discovered genius. Someone made a regular metal muffin pan frame, but with the metal cups gone & in their place are attached silicone cups. $15. Sold.
There are also now reusable silicone cupcake liners. That is weird to me.
Do you own silicone? Raves? Rants?

Mmmmmm! Brie and baguette. Yuuuuummmm! *smooches* Thank you!
How ridiculous is it that just thinking about brie and bread made my stomach do a complete flip flop of hungriness?
I have the silpat thingy but still haven't used it. I normally go with parchment paper for cookie baking. Speaking of baking, I have to make DH banana bread tonight. I don't have any of the other silicone baking stuff as we received all brand new Calphalon bakeware for wedding gifts. They rock!
*stuffs face with brie covered baguette*
Hee hee you said "loaf".
SNORFLE
*watches Tkit stuff her face*
She's so cute when she's hungry.
I see the cheese has upstaged the content of my post....
*hangs head after Kim scolded us*
I'm not sure what my utensils are made of. I got mine from The Pampered Chef and I love love love them.
I have Caphalon everything. Haven't tried any silicone yet.
I know the perfect thing for you to make in that mini muffin pan.
P. S. I just did a little sucking up over there.
I have the silicone mat, bread pan, and 8x8 cake pan. Love them all. *smooch*
I have a bundt cake one and it makes the cake look like a castle. Very perdy.
Thanking you for playing, carey.
*puts angry eyes back in my potato butt*
I love your suckupitude, boo. :-) It's good to keep him in our good graces.
I have the silicone muffin pan with the metal holder. And a silicone cookie sheet that's too small for much of anything (it was free).
And silicone spatulas and spoonulas. Those are awesome. Haven't even used the muffin tin yet.
I've never even heard of such.
I have silicon spatulas and spoonulas, too. I LOVE them. I have a silicon 9.5" round cake pan that is meh. My Wilton aluminum pans are my favourites.
I really want one of those cool-looking silicon brushes for brushing on sauce and stuff. They look really cool. I've burnt off the bristles on the ones I have now.
I have nothing made of silicon. Most of my bakewear is ancient because that stuff never wears out. We are adjusted to each other. Plus, like Tkity said--parchment paper is wonderful stuff.
Plus my kid would ruin silicon pretty fast. I heard it is easily scratched if you use a wrong utensil on it. Which she or her BF would do on day one.
