Pan grilled halloumi cheese today with a side of raspberry honey mustard.
We are getting our house reappraised by the bank tomorrow (The appraiser called yesterday...surprise-I'll be there Friday at 7:30 a.m.!). We are doing some debt consolidation, hopefully. I'm a bit worried our reappraisal won't be much. *worries*
This all means that I'll be cleaning house tonight. The good news? I won't have to clean much this weekend. Friday we are going to the outdoor theatre for a beer tasting followed by "Much Ado About Nothing." If my toes are healed enough, I want to do a 10 mile walk on Saturday and catch up on reading The Memory Keepers Daughter that evening.

You can come clean my place too.
I finished MKD the other night.
What did you think of the book, Breezy? I'm not grooving on it yet (I'm about 1/4 through), but it has potential.
Ohhhh, after you are finished at Breezy's, I'll let you come and clean my house too. *hops*
Um, not sure you want me to answer that.
I can't believe that you're considering walking again! How about cleaning all the bloggy's homes instead of walking?
I just realized my toenails are bruised. Ok, it's UNDER the toenails that are bruised, but I'm purple nonetheless.
I'm off to donate blood now...a double batch since I'm in such a giving mood. Apparently they spin it through a machine and give me my plasma and platelets back. Whew. I see they have cheese and crackers for post-giving snacks. Mmmm.
Breezy-I'm finding the writing style and storyline to be really S-L-O-W...I'm guessing that doesn't change.
So you're cleaning for the appraiser's benefit? I think that's funny!
They give you your plasma and platelets back? Do they give it to you in a "take-out" bag or what?
Nope doesn't change.
We want a high appraisal (it's not the real estate guy, it's the bank guy), so I want to make the house look sparkly.
Ok, so the effing blood donation thing (I was told I could get to the bed right away and it would take 40 minutes for the blood to collect. I waited an hour just to get stuck)...
The most.annoying.nurse.evah finally stuck me (after I waited for an hour for them to set up the machine and do all this special crap) and she bruised up my vein too much to continue. They had to disconnect me. I had the option of leaving, waiting for them to reset the machine (about 20 minutes then another 40 for the blood to collect) and do the other arm (what, so I felt like crap on both my arms!?), or giving a single bag normal donation style thru my other arm.
I left. Partially because the annoying nurse put me in a foul mood, but mostly because I couldn't risk both arms being horridly sore today.
I am reading MKD as well! Are you guys doing a book club thingy on that one?
Grrrr! Blogger is making me sign in every freakin' time I want to comment on anyone's blog. Why is that?
Yes Tkit, we're doing MKD for the OT book club. I believe Smokeysmom will be starting the discussion on Monday.
I would think your appraisal would be high. I think the house buying has declined, but not appraisals.
I need to clean on Saturday. Would you believe I actually stopped to clean one of our toilets on Sunday. I just didn't like the way it looked, so I cleaned it.
I read a little of MKD in the airport, but I haven't touched it since. I need to pick it up again, I've just been too busy catching up on everything else.
I am intentionally ignoring any talk of blood and needles.
But the cheese and crackers sound good.
I've been meaning to ask if the sleeping bags have been repacked yet.
I asked him to take the bags downstairs and put with the camping stuff last night. I didn't hear any reprimands...yet.
Did he ask about our rain prep plan?
So Kim, have you learned to enjoy foot pain or do you just like walking that much?
I hate the big fat needles that blood banks stick everyione with - they are really tough on your veins. When I worked at the U (years ago) I was a semi-professional normal human control and anybody could stick it to me if the price was right. But I insisted on a 23 or 21 gauge needle! Damn blood banks will stick you with a 14!
I wound up having small amounts of blood drawn anywhere from once to three times per week. It was quite lucrative actually - $10 to $20 per cc.
I have no idea why I am babbling like this in your blog - sorry.
I have no idea why I kept reading Swami's post.
*thud*
I don't do needles.
Ack, the thought of a foot needle scares me.
I bet Swami would have been a regular sperm donor if she were a guy.
Oh no, if your toes are purple you may loose your toenails.
Glad you're recovering.
MKD - I've finished chapter one, or 1964.
I think one more day of walking would have assured my toenails were going to come off. Hopefully they are going to heal now...keep your fingers crossed.
Swami, that's impressive!
The appraiser has come and gone. We'll see next week what his final number is.
I'm LMAO at MTW's question: "Do they give it to you in a take-out bag or what?" *SNORT*
Why do they give you the plasma & platelets back and what are you supposed to do with them?
