No, really, it IS nudie bar Friday. You all might think less of me, but I'm going to a strip club tonight. I've never been to one & am ever so slightly curious. We have a friend that has been giddy to arrange the outing and won't let it drop. So, we just said yes to doing it tonight and will get it over with. I'm not excited. I'm dreading it a bit. But still, I'm curious. I think women are pretty, I like to watch dancers, I'm just not into seedy things. This is a fairly tasteful place, though (I think). I predict we'll stay an hour to make our friend happy and then bail out. I'm just feeling a little icky about this. And what DOES a woman wear to a strip joint?

That depends on whether or not the woman is the stripper. *grin*
Have fun and make the best of it. Depending on the club, it can be a good time. the seedy ones are nasty and you want to get out ASAP. You'll know as soon as you walk in if it's a seedy place or a fun place.

Is Chris going? If so, wear something that makes you look a little hoochie-ish. Let him get his appetite at the club and then take hime home for a main course. *evil grin*
If not, I would wear whatever you would normally wear if you were going out clubbing or bar hopping. Being married, you don't need to dress as if you are trying to pick someone up. But that doesn't mean that you can't be lookin hott. *grin*
The last time we went to a strip club we were in a limo and were seedy bar hopping. We were pretty dressed up because we were also doing fine dining and such. But we ended up bar hopping in the red light district of San Fran. Some of those clubs are quite nasty. *shudder* We accidentally ended up in a live sex show club. Even I was disgusted and I think we can all agree that I am not even close to being a prude.
LMAO. It's actually pretty fun to go. I haven't been to one in a few years, but it's hilarious. Especially if you have a guy around that you can torment. Getting dancers to flirt and whatnot with your date/husband/friend while they squirm in embarrassment is much fun.
What do you wear? Whatever you want. Just don't look too sexy, or they might hit on you. *grin*

Chris will be there. I think it's either me and three guys, or one other girl might be joining us.
I'd feel a little weird wearing a dress or skirt, like I was playing it up a little too much. I'm going with nice pants and a cute top I think. Something that looks sleek and sophisticated, yet not stuffy.
Wear something with a classic cut. You don't want to look cheesy. Be sure to buy your friend a lap dance or two so he has the full experience. Tell people it's his birthday, lol.
I find seedy strip bars to be very sad places, not at all sexy. The strippers act like automatons and the atmosphere just sucks joy right out of you. I hope you go to happy place!

Kim is one of the best drunk dialers ever. She is clearly buzzed, yet she is still understandable. Her drunk dials made me giggle.

Ack! I've never been to one either. I'd like to think I'm woman enough to go and let my man be sat on, but I don't know. In my younger days, I was way too jealous. I don't think DH has been either. Now, I'd definitely let him go, I just don't know whether I'd want to be there or not.

Chris's only job is to keep me comfortable during this visit. I don't want him overtly oogling or getting lap dances. I would feel weird about that.

My advice? Don't watch white. They usually have those black lights and you will glow if you do.

Meh, it was, um, ok. It was a nice place, well lit and not seedy. Chris and I sat back at a table while our companions sat at the "tip rail." I refused to sit there because I didn't want the ladies stuff wagging in my face.
There were three women on stage at a time and about 15 women total. Three were great dancers and I enjoyed watching them dance. Most of the girls were average and danced a little skanky for my taste.
I guess I feel like dancing isn't degrading because the woman is in complete control. When she starts touching and letting anyone touch her for tips, that's when I think it starts becoming degrading. But that's just my view.
I won't be making a trip back anytime soon, but it wasn't terrible. Chris was a good hubby and stuck by me and made me feel comfortable.
Glad it wasn't a bad experience.
I've been to see male strippers a couple of times. Not recently though.
The only time I came close to seeing female strippers was the time I went to pick Dave up after the bar closed. He called at 3am and asked me to pick him up. I threw a pair of track pants and sweatshirt over my nightie and told him to watch for me. It turned out that some of my girlfriends were there and they dragged me inside WEARING MY PJs!!!
So you probably shouldn't ask me what to wear. *giggle*
