@$!%^@!

No cheese. I can't afford cheese because my car keeps eating my money.

1. Tire incident in Jan/Feb (due to sliding into icy snow bank). Cost: $250
2. Cracked hose incident (due to ice chunk falling off car's wheel well in front of us) in Feb. Cost: $300
3. Flying chunk of ice off semi on interstate today cracking my whole headlight. Cost: $250 estimate

$800 for snow related incidents in three months. Cripes.

I'm focking moving. I should also mention that a girl rear-ended Chris, during a snow storm, this month when we had the truck. No damage to the truck, thank cod.

We wrote down the semi's company name and truck number. They are saying they won't pay for it. @#!$%

*donates cheese from the Mars Cheese Castle so that the blog isn't cheeseless*

I've had a bout of car repair woes, lately, too. I hate car repairs. I keep up with regular car maintenance, and I feel that my diligence there should exempt me from any further car obligation.

I just noticed last night that my car is making a weird noise when I am braking when going slowly, like pulling into a parking place. I'm not amused.

Obviously you are from the area if you know Mars Cheese Castle! LOL!

Well have to meet up one of these days! Maybe when Boo & I are in town in August.

You are very good for keeping up with regular maintenance. We aren't perfectly diligent, but take care of the basic important stuff like oil changes, air filter, serpentine belt, etc.

I never realized the damage that random chunks of ice could cause.

*hopes my car windows don't crack from the sunlight*

Ack! I thought that headlights were like $20 at AutoZone.

Holy crap! Bad enough that driving in the snow is dangerous now you have to worry about ice chunks flying at you.

*HUGS*

Frodis: I didn't realize you live in Chicago. We should hook up in August!!

Kim: Is any of this covered by your car insurance or is this your deductible?

That sucks. So sorry.

The good news is the ice chunk didn't smash your windshield and decapitate you!

Nutz <--- always looks for the positive. :D

I'm taking the Suburban in today for fixes from RECALLS!! Sheesh, we just got it in October.. At least we don't have to pay for them. However with that I have to get the side mirror fixed- about $170. Some big truck with and extended mirror and I bumped mirrors a few weeks ago, and cracked my side mirror. Blech.

Update: BOTH housings are wrecked. We are turning it into our insurance company and they said our rates will not go up because it's our first filed claim in 9 years with them and it's relatively small (~$500). I really do like our insurance company (USAA). Wish I had a local rep, but the phone peeps are really nice.

There is no snow in SF. You should move here.

I hate flying ice chunks! I will pull over and wait for an ice-covered car or truck to move ahead of me.

Okay. I laughed when you said a girl rear-ended Chris, but then I am crazy that way.

I got whacked with a rock from a truck once and my insurance just wanted to know the trucking company's name, where it happened and what time. They verified that this company had a truck on that road at about that time, and this was all they needed to process my claim. Is your state a No Fault state?

I had a small ice chunk fly off my truck a couple of weeks ago. Thank cod it only hit the pavement. I wondered if the flying pieces scared the people behind!
