Roll Call!

*sets out bagels and cream cheese*

Who is around this week?

I hope everyone who celebrates had a Merry Christmas. I tried to get to everyone's blogs yesterday to send holiday wishes, but my internet at home (dial-up) slowed down mid-afternoon.

Our Christmas Eve with my family was pretty lackluster. The kids are getting older and there were fewer people than usual. We all seemed a little out of the holiday spirit.

I have to say, it was really nice to get a big gift this year. Chris rarely gets me anything, so whatever he gets me is always appreciated. However, the stand mixer went above and beyond my expectations. I hope it arrives tomorrrow. I'll have to find healthy recipes to make.

Speaking of tomorrow, we are going to see "We Are Marshall." *fans self* I will be adoring the hotties.

*smooch* Welcome back. I may or may not be around this week. Have some things to take care of and so I'm not sure.
Went to Michelle's parent's for Christmas Eve. It was crazy as usual. Christmas Day was pretty quiet. Went to my parent's house.
I got a photoprinter for my camera from Michelle this year. Very cool. I can't wait to get home and see if I can figure it out.

I can only imagine what the big Michelle's Family Christmas is like! Afterwards, do you get in the car and pause to appreciate the quiet?

I am here of course.

We went to Michael's boss' house for Christmas Eve. He and his wife are Conner's "Meemaw and Papa." They are like a second family to us. We have been going there for Christmas Eve since 1992. Conner was very excited that Meemaw made sugar cookies. He brought one home with him - a red bell. He held it the whole way home. Then he went to bed with it and fell asleep holding it. He ate it yesterday morning.

We hosted Christmas day. It was chaos, especially with three little kids ages 2, 3 and 4. Thank Cod for an upstairs playroom. Today, I'll be cleaning it. And the kitchen. *dread* It's amazing how many "regular" dishes can be pulled out if of the cabinets when you leave the room for 5 minutes.

We refer to every single event with her family as "My big fat Maltese Wedding". No matter what the event.

*giggle at Carey and Boo*

I bet carey sleeps with cookies, too.

Michelle gets mad when I refer to her as cookie.

I forgot. I really want to see that movie. I may have to go alone.

I'll be in and out, updating today hopefully. I work the rest of the week starting tomorrow.

Good Christmas, overall.

We Are Marshall? Never heard of it. Max and I saw Night At The Museum, which was pretty well done. Out local reviewers panned it completely but I enjoyed it.

We opened our presents on Christmas Eve this year - haven't done that since April & Max were babies.

Do you guys have present opening rules? In Chris's family everyone opens one at a time, rotating through the room. It usually goes oldest to youngest or youngest to oldest.

It's a good tradition, but I always feel a little "on the spot" when I'm opening and when others are opening gifts we gave them.

We pass out all of the gifts and then everybody tears into them at once. Just throwing the wrapping paper all of the room and being as messy as possilbe. *grin*

I'll be around this week. I'm at home today, but will be at work the rest of the week.

We usually open 1 present on Christmas Eve, and then on Christmas day we kind of go one at a time, but there's no rhyme or reason to it. Just whoever starts opening, the rest of us sit and watch. This year Tate was a maniac, so he had most of his presents open before the rest of us even started. Heh.

No rhyme or reason at our house.

*waits for gasps*

Michael is the only one with restraint.

We watch the kids in the morning then do ours while they are playing. But no order or anything.

Why do I keep eating junk?

*raises hand* I'm here. Bagels and cream cheese are my type of breakfast. I have about 5 movies on my "must see" list. We saw "Rocky" and "Pursuit of Happyness."

Glad my side of the family isn't weird. Like most of yours, we pass out the presents...kids rip in...we watch them and then open our own during the chaos.

I'm considering introducing the "open one at a time" concept to our family Christmas next year.

My DH and kids saw that movie yesterday. They all liked it a lot.

I saw Night at the Museum. I loved it!

My belly hurts.... when will the eating stop?

*offers Breezy a Rice Crispie bar*

We open more or less one-by-one. Kids are required to watch the adults open their presents because Christmas is for everyone, and also when the adults say "thank you" then the kids start to say "thank you" after every gift, without any prompting.

Good point, Swami.

Breezy, throw the cookies away!!!!!

Present Miss Weltek! *grin*

I was going to leave some messages on blogs on Christmas night from my Mom's (seeing as she has high speed and I don't) but I couldn't remember my password. Hope I never get logged out on my own computer or I'll be locked out of blogland.

We survived Christmas Eve with Dave's family. We see them once a year - at Christmas. While it was nowhere near as bad as many past get-togethers, there were moments of silence where nobody seemed to know what to say. We really don't have much in common other than our last names.

Christmas Day was really nice at Mom and Dad's. Everyone was there and my brother's kids behaved pretty well. Except when Wild Bill (as I call him) opened each present, then he'd look all pouty and say, "I've got this at home." My feeling was that maybe he has too many toys at home if he's already got everything. Someone needs a lesson in gratitude.

We open gifts one at a time going around the room in no particular order. I like it that way so that we get to see the reaction from presents you've given. Except for Billy's. *giggle*

Even the puppies get their turn. Everyone gets a big laugh out of Holly and how she can open her own presents.

I'm listening to the US vs. Canada World Junior Championships. And eating a soft baked chocolate chip cookie. I'm sure you were dying to know that. Later I'm meeting dad, Leah and Andrew, and my friend Abbi and her family for the Caps vs. Canadiens game.
I think I may be a wee bit addicted. :)

I am here-- probably more here than usual because Mr. Monstah will be around this week so he can help me keep All Stah from all the usual toddler mischeif.

I hope you had a fun and merry Christmas. For me, Christmas Eve is always better than Christmas day.

I need to pass on your cheese until Friday's weigh in at the OB. *contraction as I type* Stupid braxton hicks are starting.

Enjoy the hotties.

I grew up only 90 minutes from Huntington, WV, and my Uncle lived there, so when this happened it was very real to me.

I'm glad they are doing a movie, but I'll probably wait for the video.

I had one kid that would open all his presents in 2 minutes flat and one who wanted to play with each one as he opened them. The quick one would try to open the slow ones presents. It was kinda funny.
