Cream cheese danishes this morning with a piping cup of coffee or hot chocolate...your choice.
Chris REALLY wanted the Microsoft X Flight Simulator for Christmas. He knows he's getting it. We thought we could hook my work laptop up to our big screen tv for him to play. Well, turns out my work laptop doesn't have a big enough video card & I'm hesitant to upgrade anything there myself.
So we go to our desktop, which we purchased in 2002(?) from Dell. At the time, we didn't get a DVD-ROM. The game only operates on a DVD-ROM.
So, now we have to spend around $300 for upgrades. Sigh. For a $50 game, it sure is getting expensive. Oh, and the "flight control accessories"....$120 for the hand controls, $200 for footpedals. He'll be waiting on those.

Ack! Tell him to trade in his John Deere :-)
He initially said "we need a new computer." I was ready to say "You'll need to find $1000 worth of your stuff to sell." Let us be reminded that $1000 would be covered by, oh, the plow on the John Deere. *rolls eyes*
Boy am I glad we have that $1000 plow. Especially for the 5 times we've used it in two years.
DH has the flight simulator game. He only bought the joy stick to go with it though. This was a few years ago. He never plays it anymore. *rolls eyes*
So, now that we have our 4 acres of land, DH has to have EVERYTHING John Deere.
He started off with needing a rider mower. Once we got to the store though, he insisted that a tractor was what he needed. So, he talks to the guy and the tractor best for DH's needs is $10,000! That doesn't include any effin attachments! He is now looking at rider mowers again LOL.
I got him a JD chain saw for Xmas. And, I bought him a tractor. A toy one that cost $14 LOL. It even includes the attachments. I told the guy at the JD store that this is the only JD tractor that will probably ever be at our house :-)
OMG-Chris will be jealous of the chainsaw!
What is it about our men that they think our acreage needs to be handled like a friggin farm?
This is like when we got our "free" surround sound. We ended up having to buy a receiver. And then a new tv because the old tv didn't have enough outlets for all the plugs.
Then, when we got our "free" new memory foam mattress, we had to buy a new bed frame. And then of course we had to buy the dressers and side tables that matched the bed frame.
Cooooooooooooooooooooooooooookies!
I am munching on the white balls of deliciousness right now, and I have already sampled the sugar cookies and snickerdoodies - yum!
The pretzels look good (haven't had room to cram them into my mouth yet, and the fudge is to DIE for.
Thanks, Kim!!
Yay, coco got the cookies!
Glad you peeps can sympathize with my expensive problems.
Sheez. It was easier when all he and the guys wanted to do was basket weave.
*will never forget that thread*
It may have been cheaper to just buy him flying lessons! Sheesh!
LOL! My DW was the one who wanted the riding lawnmower in our family. For our 2/3 of an acre.
But, hey, if you're going to spend $300 on upgrades, you can probably get a new computer for just about that WITH the upgrades.
Or to just buy the plane. I hear you can get good deals on used planes somewhere in the Nevada desert.
Did I mention how much I love cream cheese danish and how little Tom likes them?
Has the freezing rain reached you yet? It's beginning to look a lot like an icestorm out there. I hate ice storms. Why can't we just get snow like in the olden days?
Just regular rain on this side of the big lake.
Same as Breezy...just rain. I think we'll take the truck to BILs tomorrow just in case it gets icy or snowy. Doesn't take much for our little Neon to slip slide away.
Well, I'm about outta here for the long weekend.
Have a WONDERFUL holiday weekend and I'll see you next week!
Safe travels Kim and have a terrific holiday! *smoooooch*
You're abandoning me too???? *sigh*
Fine.
Have a wonderful weekend and Christmas. *smooch*
I just came to wish you Happy Holidays.
Oh, and to say that I'm also thrilled it's Seattle!
Merry Kimmers!
Good Grief Charlie Brown! That's as bad as DH wanting an XBox. Or all the crap for Rotten1's PS2. Ugh.
Merry Christmas to you and Chris!
Merry Christmas, Kim and Chris. *smooch*
