Power Outage

How bout some spicy cheese to wake us up this morning? Habenero Jack cheese with Ritz today.

We woke up to a power outage this morning. It wasn't even really stormy. It was just raining for about 48 hours straight. I usually get up at 6:15, but since it was pitch dark, I crawled back into bed. The power came on around 7:00, so we just got to work a little late. It was nice to sleep in.

The weekend was good. A nicer weekend than I'd had in a long time. Friday night we celebrated our anniversary (the stone place closed at 5pm, so we couldn't get the stone that night). We went to Red Lobster because Chris had been craving a big seafood pig out. We hadn't been there in years. The food was better than I remember. It wasn't overcooked & they had some unique flavors. He had some kind of wasabi shrimp and tequilla lime shrimp with a side of king crab legs. I had sweet chili salmon & shrimp. It was spicy & yummy. And let's not speak of the cheddar bay biscuits. After that we bought Chris some new cologne. It was nice because there was nobody else at Boston Store's cologne counter so we had plenty of time to smell everything. He ended up with CHROME.

Saturday I worked & my niece was staying with us. She did lots of cleaning for money since she's saving for a saddle & there was crap I didn't want to clean. So now I have dust free baseboards, window sills, dining room chairs, top of fridge and such. Not to mention an uber clean fridge. $25 well spent (It was only going to be $20, but Chris said the fridge was a really nasty job).

Sunday it rained all.day. Loved that! We stayed inside watching tv & doing some light cleaning. I curled up with a book, did the treadmill & some yoga (I'm learning from a book). I also gave Chris a haircut. It's the second time. Gets a little easier each time.

1. Do you like Red Lobster?
---I haven't been in years & years but I used to be unimpressed. Maybe it's better now.

2. Have you tried yoga?
---no.

3. Have you ever cut your spouse's or children's hair?
---I shave the back of Tom's neck between haircuts, following the haircut line, so he looks perfectly trimmed at all times, lol. I have cut my daughter's long hair, a straight-across blunt-cut in the middle of her back.

4. What would you like my niece to come & clean?
---Sure. She sounds cheap!

5. Men's cologne. Got any in your household? What kind?
---No.

1. yes, mmmmmm I want a bloody mary with drunken shrimp, NOW!

2. no, I'm not flexible

3. Yep.

4. My fridge and my kitchen.

5. Yes, but I can't think of any of the names.

Breezy, I'm so not flexible either, but that's why I'm trying yoga at home. They have different routines in the book: Energy, Strength, Flexibility, etc. I can't do some of the stuff in flexibility yet, but hope I can eventually. I'm also finding my tummy roll is getting in the way of a few poses. I do enjoy it thus far, though. My goal is to get good enough to join a class. :-)

1. Sometimes. And only certain things. I go with not great expectations so I am suprised sometimes. I find a lot of the stuff too heavy and greasy.

2. No but I want to. I never have enough money for a class.

3. I cut DH's all the time. It is a buzz cut so very easy. Saves us money every month. I have not cut DD. I will be cutting DS soon since he gets the buzz cut as well.

4. She can clean my whole house for the party this Saturday!

5. No. DH is not a cologne wearing guy and I don't care for it to much on a guy. He also wears no jewelry except for his wedding ring.

Zombs reminded me of another reason I wasn't disappointed in my Red Lobster dinner. Usually the veggies were grease bombs...now they tasted fresh with only a tad bit of oil. And the side of wild rice was pleasant. I used to get sick of them shoving fried shrimp, shrimp scampi and greasy shrimp pasta down your throat. They now have a Light House menu that makes it more edible, IMHO.

1. Do you like Red Lobster?
Yes, but I prefer Joe's Crab Shack.
2. Have you tried yoga?
No. I had bought a tape so I could do this at home, and then got distracted by the warning about not doing the yoga when it was that T.O.M. It didn't say why, and for whatever reason, I just couldn't move past it until I know why.
3. Have you ever cut your spouse's or children's hair?
Yes, but after the time I managed to nick Arkieboy's ear, I decided to quit doing that.
4. What would you like my niece to come & clean?
Absolutely!
5. Men's cologne. Got any in your household? What kind?
No.

1. Do you like Red Lobster?
... DW loves it, but we don't have one in town (closest is in Niagara Falls). We usually go there once every couple of months, and I tend to enjoy it (I like seafood in general). FTR, I used to love the cheese biscuits, but could take 'em or leave 'em now.

2. Have you tried yoga?
... Yes, but can't say I really enjoy it. I do have to do a lot of stretching though, because my back is all focked up.

3. Have you ever cut your spouse's or children's hair?
... No. Although I think I would be good at it. Maybe DW will let me cut our daughters hair (which resembles is that of a wild beast right now...although it looks pretty cool on an 18-month-old :-)

4. What would you like my niece to come & clean?
... everything. I'm trying to sell my house, and it's hard to keep clean with said 18-month-old dropping toys everywhere.

5. Men's cologne. Got any in your household? What kind?

.... I use my cologne sparingly (too much cologne? Ewwwww. I'm not my father, thank you). Yet I wear it every day. The past few years I've been using Swiss Army. Smells good, but not too expensive.

I would have been disappointed if Metrosexual Meemo didn't wear cologne.

Arkie-the book also address the TOM thing...but didn't give a very good explanation as to why yoga would be bad. It sounded like it might increase Flo. :-)

2. Have you tried yoga?
No, I'm not some hippie flake.

3. Have you ever cut your spouse's or children's hair?

Yes, even had a hair clipper. Now Mr Bob pays for a haircut every 3 weeks and feels rich.

4. What would you like my niece to come & clean?

Um yes.

5. Men's cologne. Got any in your household? What kind?

Activist by Body shop, but Mr Bob never wears any sadly.

I wear a perfume called Michael but it is a women's perfume.

Questions related to todays blog:
1. Do you like Red Lobster?
Sure. But I like Legal Seafood better.

2. Have you tried yoga?
Yes, I must be a hippie flake. I have a yoga for abs DvD that kicks my...stomach.

3. Have you ever cut your spouse's or children's hair?
I have cut my own hair when money was tight.

4. What would you like my niece to come & clean?
Everything. My apartment is such a mess right now. Starting a new relationship means never having time to clean. And my dishwasher is broken so I really need someone to wash my dishes.

5. Men's cologne. Got any in your household? What kind?
Err, no. Ari doesn't wear cologne.

Debcapsfan said...

Oh, arkie, they recommend you don't do yoga when it's that time of the month cause you're upside down some and people are paranoid.
You can do it, just modify some of the stretches.
Peace and fluffy clouds.

1. Do you like Red Lobster?
No. I used to love them. I find them to be overpriced. My mom loves them so whenever she visits, we usually take her there at least once.

2. Have you tried yoga? Nope.

3. Have you ever cut your spouse's or children's hair?
Nope. I wouldn't dare.

4. What would you like my niece to come & clean?
Hmmmmm she could come clean my poop/pee/puke stained carpets. :-)

5. Men's cologne. Got any in your household? What kind?
My mom always buys DH Stetson cologne LOL. Actually, I don't mind the scent. I think I've bought him some other stuff but I can't remember the name. I love how he smells when he puts cologne on.

kim (weltek) said...

LOL at the hot Stetson cologne! Most of those 'classic' colognes actually aren't bad. I just think about the old cowboy commercials for Stetson.

1. I don't like seafood, so while I've never been to Red Lobster, I feel confident in saying that I would not like it.

2. I think I borrowed a Yoga tape from my sister once. Oh, no. It was Pilates. I tried for about 3 minutes, got discouraged and gave up.

3. I've never tried to cut anyone's hair.

4. She can clean my bedroom and my fridge. Thanks!

5. Sadly no. I love the smell of (most) men's cologne. If I'm walking down the hallway of my apartment and I catch a whiff of someone's, I get all swoony.

6. Happy Belated Anniversary! *smooch*

1. Do you like Red Lobster?

I LOVE Red Lobster and sadly, we don't have one here. Haven't been to one in a year or two now and I'm really craving it. Especially the biscuits. *drool*

2. Have you tried yoga?

Nope. But I have the pants.

3. Have you ever cut your spouse's or children's hair?

I cut my own bangs when they get too unruly. My niece Sarabelle got her very first haircut from Auntie Linda. Coincidentally enough, it was Auntie Linda's first time cutting someone else's hair.

4. What would you like my niece to come & clean?

Absolutely. Will you come with her so we can visit while she cleans?

5. Men's cologne. Got any in your household? What kind?

Gravity and Contradiction for Men.

Happy Belated Anniversary to one of my favorite couples!!! *smooches*

1. Red Lobster - I haven't been there in forever. DH doesn't much like seafood.

2. Yoga - Never tried and haven't had much interest in it.

3. Haircuts - I cut both Rotten's hair and DH's most of the time. It's not too bad. Occasionaly, my MIL does it - she's a hair dresser.

4. Yes, most definitely. She can scrub to her heart's content.

5. Men's cologne - DH has 2-3 different scents, but I haven't the slightest idea what they are.

1. No. Yuk.

2. Yes. I even have a video I pull out from time to time.

3. No. I would, but Eric is a Quebec man and won't let me anywhere near anyone's hair. What a twit.

4. Sure. Send her over. Can I pay with dustbunnies?

5. Eric wears Fahrenheit. looooooooooove it.

1. Ick. Don't like seafood. (another reason Jen and I are Valentines)

2. No

3. Kinda. I'll cut the hair that grows over the ears on my son, when I notice it's getting long. I suck at it, though. I've also trimmed my DD's hair before, but like I said, I sucked.

4. Um...*looks at house*
I don't have enough money. *sigh*

5. I like the Bellagio cologne (from the hotel in Vegas, and Obsession.

1. Red Lobster - I haven't been in about 10 years. The service was atrocious. Our waitress brought our drinks, brought our food and never saw her again. She was busy flirting with a table of doods.

2. Yoga - Yup. I have two tapes and used to attend classes. You'd be shocked at how flexible you become.

3. Haircuts - I used to cut an old boyfriend's. I'll trim up DH's once in a while.

4. Oh please? My bathrooms need help and then there is the enormous amount of pet hair.

5. Men's cologne - Yes. Dolce and Gabana, Abercrombie & Fitch "Woods" and Hugo Boss.
