Fontina & crab puffs today because I'm in a good mood.
We found the perfect stone for the firepit! Now we can finish the patio! It was a little sad though, because they have all sorts of fancy stone that I WISH I could've afforded for the whole patio (the Menards 'no interest' thing was what allowed us to do this now). But anywhoooo, we'll bring the truck to work tomorrow & load up. Yay!
I have two major things I need to complete by tomorrow @ noon. One is a human subjects research Institutional Review Board application. These are what you need to fill out after you are awarded a grant in order to do any research with human subjects. It's so detailed and you need to create a bunch of accompanying docs such as consent forms. Not fun. I hate these.
Then I need to compile a bunch of stats for a big talk my boss is doing in a few weeks. This means I have to search through a ton of reports I printed yesterday, mining for pieces of interesting, applicable data. I don't mind doing this, it's just something I need to imerse myself in.
So share details of what YOU need to get done today. Then we'll get to know your jobs a little better. If your job is taking care of kiddos, I do NOT want to know about poopy diapers. Remember, I interview people in nursing homes. I can break out pressure ulcer descriptions.

I was supposed to have written up an outline for a safety meeting last week. I was also supposed to have finished up four different memos related to safety issues. I did none of it because it's boring and I keep putting it off. I really need to finish it this week.*sigh* I don't wanna.
Then sometime next week, I need to have a plant safety meeting. I'm not looking forward to that either.
ACK!! I better go do a plant inspection this morning. I didn't do that at the end of the month which is mandatory.
*runs off to do inspection*
YAY! Can't wait to see pics of the final project.
Human subjects research? Sounds intriguing.
I like getting immersed in a project. Haven't done that for a while now.
Today, I must visit the local imprint store to see samples of their embroidery work on golf shirts / baseball hats. I need to place an order for promotional items for when our equipment gets started-up at mills. We give them golf shirts/t-shirts & baseball caps with our company logo and product name embroidered on them.
Then, I need to sort through our product equipment list to change all the code numbers. Should have been done ages ago but the people who make the final decisions are never available.
I also need to update our product installation list because we received two new orders. YAY!
Now, let's get to work. Lots to do!
*smooch*
Oh, BTW, I don't know what Fontina is, I'm assuming it's a cheese. I love crab puffs. YUMMY!
Carey, what kind of safety issues do you look for?
Oh, and when I said I can't wait to see pics of the finished project Kim, I meant the deck/firepit project and not your human subject research paperwork project LOL.
Unless there are pictures of studly men involved in the research paperwork *grin*
*snort* I knew what you meant, Nookie!
My job is axtremely boring & routine, but the trade-off is I get to work part-time from home.
So today I have to prepare a bunch of bills for a fire department to approve and sign, and then mail a bunch of stuff I did yesterday. Fascinating stuff, no?
*sits with Nookie and waits for studly man pics*
*sigh* Well I just had to have a talk with one of my employees about sexual harrassment lawsuits because he felt it was okay to say outloud what the spam on his computer was. And he felt that it was necessary to say it to our most conservative office worker. Not only did he feel it was okay to discuss the spam, he felt it was okay to discuss how it could enhance his sex life and then went into detail. So I got to spend the last 10 minutes explaining California sexual harrassment laws to him. Grrrrrrrrr.
His exact words that got him in trouble: (remember, this was to a very conservative, church going woman)
"Oh, look, I got an ad for a cock ring. If I slip it over my penis, I can enhance not only my sexual experience but my wife's too. I may have to try this tonight"
Nooks, I inspect for all safety stuff related to fire hazards, chemical spills, personal safety and equipment safety. Boring shit.
Ok, Carey wins for the most interesting task of the day! Working with factory/plant type-men must be interesting. My friend used to work in HR for a trucking company and a box manufacturer. The tales she told made me laugh!
It wouldn't have been so bad if he said it to me. But he had to pick the most conservative person in the office to say it to. Me? I could care less and I do the trucker talk with all the guys around here. But this guy is a fucking moron. He's the one who I threw the 5lb can of coffee at once. IDIOT.
Yep, Carey's wins LOL.
When I worked in the engineering department, I had to deal with all kinds of crappy issues. Most important to me was sexual harrassment. The men thought nothing of displaying nekkid girlie calenders on their walls. I fought and fought and finally the company laid down the law. They all thought I was a bitch but who cares. I don't want that shit on the walls at work.
Prepare payroll tax returns, sales tax returns. Answer QB questions via phone, email and in person. Paid bills for one client, do church payroll, have meeting in 1/2 hour to see what I have to do next week when covering for a client that will be out of town.
Transmit claims. Download reports, reformat, and email. Review balances, and update spreadsheet. Look busy.
Breezy answers quarterback questions? Is Brett one of your clients?
*sits in poop stink*
Arkie wins for most mundane tasks. Sorry, Arkie, probably not the award you were looking for. However, if you play a prank on your coworker, or name one of those emailed documents something funny before you resend, you can forfeit your award for a better one. :-)
*giggle* I just had an image of Arkie in "Office Space" taking about doing the TPRs. :-)
Human subjects research - tell me you are getting a grant to study us. That would be awesome!
I have to stay entertained today on the internet. The BB boards are predictible, Blogs haven't been updated (except yours and a couple others), fight the urge to get on Bidz.com, research my next vacation, and read some more of my book "Eleven on Top" by Janet Evanovich.
*sigh*
Not sure I have the energy for all of it.
Hey! Don't I get an award for at least being able to get outside the office for a bit?
Yes, Nookie definitely gets the "open air" award. I'm jealous you get to venture out of your building. And the thing you are going out for sounds fun!
Lasann gets the "non work" award. I mean, sure, *I* get to surf the net, too, but I couldn't get away with book reading. Unless I close my door & lie that I'm in a meeting or on a phone interview.
I would be in heaven if I received a grant involving "studying" blogland & SB all day.
Sadly, it's just a feasibility study on RN to CNA mentoring on providing clinically sound, resident centered care in nursing home. *nudges everyone to wake them up after boring description*
LOL at Lasann's response.
Yay for my award *proud grin*
*snoooooooooooooooze* after reading Weltek's description :-)
Hey Kim, I can answer QB questions too! Just not the really hard ones. I can make it do what I want and that's all I need.
Swami<--- has a rote type job these days.
