Lettuce

I don't love lettuce, but I do like it. Especially in the summertime. Nothing like a big yummy salad.

Now, I think my post-gallbladder body cannot handle lettuce.

My doctor said there would likely be a few foods I couldn't handle...that they'd send me to the bathroom. He mentioned lettuce might be one of them, as others frequently report it. I thought that sounded absurd.

Sure enough, about two hours after my Panera ceasar salad & turkey sandwich, I hung out in the bathroom. I made a mental checklist of items I had at lunch today that I haven't otherwise had since the surgery. Turkey and lettuce were the only two items I hadn't had since last week. So one of those two is making me ill, and I'm putting money on it being lettuce.

Oh, I'm sure it's lettuce.

Don't tell Mr. Boo, but that used to affect him the same way, no surgery required.

One time we ate dinner out. And our house is probably a 20-minute drive from that restaurant. Well, with about 5 minutes to go, it hit him. He was really struggling, no bathroom anywhere in site.

I remember pulling into the driveway and him running into the house. The poor man left a shoe in the middle of the driveway, but he made it.

I still cry from laughing at that one.

Cheese binds you up, I hear.

Cheese is binding. Lettuce doesn't affect me that way, but some other things do. Like caffeine.

With no gall bladder and the bile having no place to be stored, pooping will never be a problem for you again. Just sayin. For me, everything goes right through since my surgury and that was over 25 years ago.

Glad you are doing so well, Kim.

Sorry to hear about the tummy problems. Just stay away from lettuce. I like lettuce to but if made me sick I would have to drop it.

It could be the garlic in the salad. At least garlic does that to me. How strange that lettuce would do it.

I hate making salads at home, so it's rare. I'm just too dern lazy for the process that goes into it. I do love salads though. Especially caesars.
