Because momma harassed me, you get two perfectly paired cheeses for the day: havarti and edam. And enjoy a glass of Wisconsin's own Prairie Fume' white wine from Wollersheim Winery. If you ever come across some in the store, buy it. You'll like it.
Today, a Friday fun topic. What are your favorite classic cartoons? Any modern day faves?
I grew up watching the Saturday Morning Cartoon Express on USA (Grandma had cable), so that included lots of Scooby Doo, Grape Ape, Captain Caveman, Huckleberry Hound and my fave: Laff A Lympics. I also watched a lot of Flinstones.
When I wasn't at Grandma's, there were fewer to choose from. Loved Bugs Bunny and only got into a few others (showing my young age here): Smurfs, Shirt Tales, He-Man, She-Ra, the Jetson's and Tiny Toon Adventures when I got a little older.
As for current cartoons, I watched Ren & Stimpy for awhile and I admit, I really like to watch Fairly Odd Parents and SpongeBob when my niece & nephew are over.
I also remember watching a lot of Popeye and Woody Woodpecker at free movie events for kids. My dad was a member of the Lion's Club and they often had little movie events for kids in our Community Center.
Just a little trip down memory lane today. Happy Friday!

I think the Flinstones were my favorite.
Havarti!
*snorfles down all Havarti*
*cleans away Harvarti crumbs*
Gosh Waltek, I think next time you should give us a couple choices of cheese, k?
What is people don't like edam?
*takes small ladylike piece of Edam*
*points up*
if, not is, if
I think we pretty much watched the same channels and cartoons.
Now, about these two cheeses and wines...If I send you my address, will you send me some?
Am I going to have to start rationing cheese when Bob is in the room?
Oooh momma, I'm keeping that in my back pocket for when I tick you off & need to suck up. :-)
I cannot envision you ticking me off that badly, Kim. So that excuse doesn't work. You just don't wanna share, do you?
You have no idea what I'm REALLY capable of. Just ask that corpse I hid under our foundation when we built. Genius, wouldn't you say?
We watched a lot of the same cartoons. My list would be pretty much identical. My favorites now are the Simpsons and Family Guy.
Simpsons! Futurama! Home Movies!
South Park!
DH is a big cartoon fan. I don't really care for them so much with the exceptions of above.
Having 2 kids I am very familiar with today's cartoons and most are not bad.
I think as a kid I liked G-Force. Kind of a Star Wars rip-off.
I dunno. I kind of like Goldie's cartoons.
Doesn't Iggy go to Havahti?
I don't watch cartoons anymore myself. My sister whose in 8th grades still watches them somethimes though.
Smurfs were one of my favorites, and also the Flinstones. Really, though, I'm not much of a cartoon watcher. I did love the Rugrats show, when mine were little. :)
South park and Tripping the Rift now, Underdog and Augie doggy (with doggie daddy) when I was young, along with some of the ones you mentioned.
*smooch*
I watched lots of cartoons as a kid. Now, I enjoy the animated features at the movies. We're always the oldest people in the theater.
Can I link you?
Bugs were my favorite of all time but the Flinstones were a close second.
