No, I'm not preggers. I just noticed Bob had like four posts in the last few weeks, which might be more than I had. Our blogosphere is becoming unbalanced.
So, what's new with me?
1) I apparently DO like pecan pie. I just never liked the recipes with corn syrup bases. I tried making a different kind for Thanksgiving and it was great, although it took a lot of patience to melt the sugar.
2) My MIL. Sigh. One more holiday to get through this year.
3) Ali, my oldest cat, is going in for surgery on Friday. She tore a knee ligament. Very common in dogs, not so common in cats. It's basically because she's fat and fearless. Well, except she fears me giving her more meds. I have four times to give her liquid meds each day. At least the pain meds slow her down a little.
4) I like my new glasses, but miss my contacts.
5) I need a haircut soooo badly. It will be my first-semester-over present to myself in a few weeks.

Okay - the title made me jump. I thought maybe you were going to become a biochemist in your spare time.
1. Real pecan pie is glorious! To much corn syrup gives me the shakes. Please mail any leftover pie to me. Thank you.
2. Good luck with that.
3. She tore it jumping? I never heard of a cat doing that. I always cats just know their limits or something. Liquid meds are probably easier than pills.
4. You look great both ways! What I miss about contacts is that you really can see more clearly.
Just for the record, I'm not preggers either. *grin*
I have never even tasted pecan pie. I don't "think" I'd like it but who knows.
I remember those holidays when my MIL was still alive. I can sympathize.
Aww, poor Ali...Holly sends a butt sniff. Thankfully, Holly's meds are in pill form and very small. We've been hiding it in cheese but she's getting bunged up from all that cheese. LOL!
I'm still trying to decide if I should buy contacts or glasses. Not sure if I can swing both at the moment.
LOL! We're living parallel lives here. I too need a haircut. My Christmas party is on Saturday night and I've been growing my hair longer in order to be able to have an "updo" that night. Next week? I'm getting a hair cut.
I'm not preggers either.
I love pecan pie. I will let you make one for me when you move here.
I will buy you beer. :)

I could totally beat you! I'm much meaner than you and besides you couldn't hurt a pregnant woman, right?
Bob <---just not getting it since forever
Damnit, you made me remember that Mimi's Cafe has stopped carrying my most favorite pecan pie ever. I hadn't had it in years but was still sorely disappointed.
How do you make pecan pie without corn syrup? Never heard of such a thang :)
Tell the cat at least it's not as bad as getting your penis removed.
I have static electricity in my hair. Horribly. What's up with that?
*puts hand above Tummy's hair & giggles*
You melt white sugar over low heat until it turns brown and liquifies. Then you add egg yolks, milk and vanilla I believe. It's a more caramel/butterscotch creamy-pudding type filling than jelly consistency that you get with corn syrup.
Puffy <---- Not preggers.
Puffy <---- Not fond of pecan pie.
