It's a 2008 Jeep Patriot. Very reminicent of the old Jeep Cherokee Sport. It's AWD, automatic, has plenty of space and still gets 24 Hwy. Chris has already decided for less than $1000 we'll add some after market stuff that doesn't void the warranty and will up the fuel economy by at least 3 mpg. It has a CVT (Continuously Variable Transaxle) transmission, which is new and funky, but it takes some getting used to. It provides smooth, intelligent auto shifting (It learns your driving style and adjusts). In addition, is has a 6 speed auto stick. Chris is having fun using that. Oh, and we upgraded the tires and rims, mainly for more ground clearance, but also because Chris thinks the ones in this pic are hideous.
I picked the color. It's Steel Blue Metallic. I wasn't sure I'd like it, so I was nervous. I wanted Inferno Red (a burgundy red) or Jeep Green, but those were a few hundred dollars extra, and I thought I'd be just fine with this color. In person, I really like it. Whew. We got it for about $2500 under sticker, so I'm pleased with that. And? 4.99% financing on a nice long 72 months to keep our payments low, so that was nice. Unless we have major problems with it, I forsee us keeping this a long time. It's a perfect "bigger" vehicle for us.

*whistles* Very nice Kim!
It's amazing how limited you end up being with colors to choose from.
Happy travels with the new jeep!
I love the color. Love it.
One of my clients has one, and he loves it.
Very purty!!!! *smooch*
Thanks, Bravie. *tosses hair* How do you like the Jeep?
Boo-glad to hear your client likes it. We don't know anyone with one. Consumer reports found it very average, Edmunds gave it a little better review, but owners seem to love theirs from online reviews.
For the under $20K we paid, I don't expect it to be luxury.
Oooh that is nice. I really like the color too. One of my dream cars is a Jeep Wrangler.
I think you made a smart choice. Fits well for you guys.
We have a 72 month loan on both of our cars however and wish we never did it. We are starting the 4th year of it and are sick of it and feel like the car is too old to be worth paying that much for anymore.
For us we would go back to leasing as our needs keep changing every couple of years.

Sweeet! While I would have loved the red, I love the blue too. My last car was blue. Very nice!!!
Thanks for the help yesterday. We're now booked into the Marriot for 3 nights. Five rooms = $3000! :O Mom and Dad flew to Florida this morning and we spent their money! *grin*
Very pretty! Drive it over here so I can see it better. *grin*
P plans on buying a used Wrangler.
Excellent choice. I have a blue car, too. *shakes head and laughs at intelligent auto shifting*
I can hear it now: my car is smarter than your car, nyah nyah. *grin*
Is this anything like what you were driving when you were out here? I really like the body style and color you got. How exciting.
*sniffs air for new car scent*
What a good memory, MM. I was driving a Pacifica then, which is the same "style" of vehicle, but the Pacifica was wider.
Grats on Jeepness! Maybe we can meet at a Jamboree!
Bob <---- has never gone, never actually plans to.
Love your new wheels! Very nice.
Nice car! Glad you are liking it!
