Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Ardrahan cheese, an Irish nibble for today. Also, the tapper is open, so pour yourself an Irish pint, or toss a little whiskey or Irish cream in your coffee this morning.

We did our annual St. Patrick's Day outing yesterday. Nobody else wanted to take off work today with me, and the parade was yesterday, so we celebrated a day early. It was a good time, thought not as rowdy as last year (when we made it on the 10:00 news).

I ate horribly this weekend and gained 2 lbs. for it. We went to BIL's on Friday and drank a lot of sangria and yummy, olive oil soaked appetizers and cheese. Saturday we had bar food for lunch and stopped at Dairy Queen. Sunday, well, it was bar food and drink fest. Ugh. I need to detox.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I had a bad food weekend, too. On Saturday we went out to breakfast, where I had a waffle with strawberries and whipped cream. (Delicious, but not really healthy.) Then for dinner, we had cheese, salami, liverwurst and pickles.

Sunday I had some chicken fingers for lunch, and for dinner I had the rest of the chicken fingers (I got interrupted during lunch and didn't finish them) and then had a bowl of greek yogurt with honey and crushed walnuts.

This morning I had a whole grain english muffin so I'm sort of back on track.

The yard should be green by St Patty's Day, shouldn't it?

I had cheese with lunch, thought of you.

We were invited to a friend's for a wine tasting of wines they might serve at their wedding.
11 samples and 2 glasses later and I was not a happy Deb.
Blergh.
There aren't any Irish wines, are there?

Hellova questions, Deb. I just did a little searching and found a few (very few) Irish wines. Hm. Who knew? Of course, who would assume there were wineries in northern WI?

Did you wear green today?

Did you drink green beer?

I ate spinach at lunch. You know, for it's greenness factor.

I had a mint Oreo blizzard at DQ on Sunday. It was okay but not as minty as I would have liked. And I had my annual Shamrock Shake at McD's a couple of weeks ago - so that completes my annual Green Fast Food extravaganza.

Swami...does the Shamrock Shake taste minty to you? There is great debate about this.

I don't really eat mint, so I'm not a good judge. Or maybe I would be.

And I do not drink green beer.

I completely missed St Paddy's day. I think I'm suddenly old.
