Yesterday

1) Up at 5:30 to make three pots of coffee, get ready for work, and bring coffee, bagels & such to a 7:30 meeting at work.

2) Meeting runs late...til 9:15, thus putting my day behind.

3) Afternoon meeting runs as scheduled. I have lots of meeting leftover stuff to bring home, so I ask Chris to pick me up instead of me taking the bus. He says ok. I go outside to wait. He calls and says he totally forgot he can't leave work yet, so I'll need to take the bus.

4) I go back to my office and wait for the next bus (30 minutes). While walking to the bus, I realize my purse is still in my office (with keys, bus pass, wallet, etc.). I have to get hospital security to open my door. I obviously miss the bus.

5) Chris says he'll pick me up in 15 minutes. 30 minutes later, he finally shows up. We don't get home until 7:30. I have a paper to write and am dead tired.

This is quite typical of how the last two weeks have been. AHHHHHHHHHHHH!

I am freaking out a bit that I'm not as prepared for company as I'd like to be (lack of plan, lack of cleanliness and organization of house), but I hope they'll be forgiving.

The sun is out today. That means the beetles will be swarming when we get home.

I'm not as prepared either! But I decided today that I don't care. They're going to eat my food, drink my liquor and play my croquet, so who the hell cares if they have to kick a few dustbunnies out of the way! I was stressed until I came to that conclusion. :)

Just keep your guests drunk the whole time. They probably won't even notice.

Tummy & Boo's strategy sounds good. Drink liquor. Heck, if I drink enough, I won't care either.

I hope you plan to serve your guest breakfast in bed. I hear that is what all good hosts do.
