Long Weekend Recrap

Some lovely colby for you, purchased from our local cheese factory.

I had yesterday off because the Dish Network repairman was coming. So again, we finally have all our channels. Yay! I caught up on a little trash tv (The Hills, Sonya!).

I worked at APT this weekend in the gift shop. It was fun. The two hours flew by. Go to http://www.americanplayers.org to check the place out. Chris got a call from our friend, the house manager, yesterday. He needs a part time concessions worker to peddle beer. Chris agreed, if he could get a similar schedule to mine. They accomodated him. Yay!

I had a Tastefully Simple event this weekend. It was a fundraiser for a former hostess's church. Only about 20 people showed, but sales were around $1500. When each item is less than $10, that means it was quite successful. Unfortunately, I think I'm getting out of the TS business soon. I'm just not excited about doing parties any more. I still love the product, but I have no time to do parties.

I washed windows and screens yesterday. No fun, but a lovely day to do it. I also did a little planting of some ornamental grasses I found on sale for $2.99/big pot. Yay! I also grilled some trout Chris had caught over the weekend. Yum! I made a sauce for it out of mangos, herbs, roasted pepper hot sauce and honey.

Now, I shall quit blabbering.

Yay! So now you both have those part time jobs you were looking for! Woo hoo! ...and those jobs sound like fun! Bonus that you can have the same schedule.

Yes, nutz, I think these jobs will be great. Short shifts, four minutes from my garage to a parking spot, fun atmosphere, etc. Lousy pay, though.

I was just posting on your blog. How funny. *giggle*

I just dropped off a roll of Ari pictures, so very soon I'll post a bunch of new and adorable pictures.

I find trout too fishy tasting, so DH practises ctch and release with them.

So glad that your part-time job is a fun one and not so many hours. Every little bit of cash helps.

I really need to wash the window screens but such a pain! I may wait until the fall when it's cooler.

Mind you, today it's actuall really cool outside. Some cold front blew in. Refreshing!

Do you get to see any of the shows at the play house? Chat with the actors? I'd love to see Romeo & Juliette and Julius Caesar.

I know you understand needing to wash screens, Nookie! That cat fur sure makes a mess on them!

While I was washing windows from the outside, Bartleby thought it was fun to chase my hand around the glass.

How cute :-)

My window problem these days is from the dog. He goes from window to window to look out and slobbers all over them. I have to clean them every day!

Tom cleans our screens with his shop vac & leaf blower. First he vaccums what he can from the inside, then he gets the leaf blower and blows anything remaining out.

I wish they made a nice power tool for cleaning toilets. He'd do that too if he had a $200, 200 h.p. machine to wield.

Ew, doggie slobber!

Swami, I never thought about blowing the screens. The vacuum only does a little bit of good.

I recommend the Kaboom Never Scrub toilet bowl cleaner thingy. I did a product evaluation of it & loved it. The only thing I didn't like was that for the first few weeks it had a strong bleach smell. I put that down in my eval & who knows, maybe that comment prompted a change. I need to get a refill & one for my other bathroom. It kept the bowl sparkling clean, I just had to wipe of the exterior of the toilet ocasionally.
