Your Morning "Entertainment"

Help yourself to the plate of fresh mozzarella & sliced tomatoes drizzled with a balsamic basil olive oil.

Tell me about your morning radio/tv listening.

Chris flips the tv on for about 5 minutes to catch the weather...if we have time. In the car, we have almost an hour commute, so we switch between a few radio stations. Madison radio surprisingly sucks. Our top 3 favorites:

WJJO is a hard rock station with a morning show trio of Johnny (muscle head rocker), Greg (middle aged family man-does all their "bits", plays guitar), and Mary (30-something hot mom, does sports & weather). Hard rock is not my #1 choice for a format, but they are really just out to have a fun morning without being really nasty. They pick on Johnny a lot & that makes me smile.

WMMM is a mellow adult alternative station. They play lots of interesting local and regional stuff mixed in with some Dave Matthews Band, Elvis Costello, etc. I like their format. Jonathan & Kitty are ok. I like him better than her. Kind of mellow, but silly. Jonathan is hot after Lisa Loeb & went to NY last week to try & get a date with her. I haven't listened for a few days, but pics are up on the web. They did a little date (not sure if it will be on #1 Single reality show) and even ran into U2's The Edge: http://www.madison.com/mmm/html/jonathanandkitty.html

Charlie FM plays a weird mix of 80s-current music. I kind of like it, but once in awhile you say, "Whatthefuck?" There is no morning show & that's fine with me.

I don't mind morning shows in general. I like the ones by hometown people. We had "Rover's Morning Glory" out of Ohio on a station recently (now defunct...turned Country format). I hated all of them but Chris kind of liked it.

So what do you listen to? TV, radio, Sirius? The coffee pot gurgling?

I usually listen to either a CD or the radio in my car on the way to work. Once at work, i only get one station and it is top 40 stuff.
On the weekends I watch the news while listening to the coffee gurggle in the mornings and then I switch to CMT until Michelle gets up.

*grabs the entire plate of mozzarella & tomatoes*

There is no way I am going to leave this lying around for Bob to get her greedy, cheesy hands on it! It's my favorite! *evil grin*

I flip through channels constantly! I have radio ADD! I can't even listen to a whole song at times.

*munches on the mozzarella*

*still munching*

Oh! Mr. Nutz will leave the same station on for an entire 2 hour trip! Classic rock is cool, but I need variety!

*switches radio station*

Hey! Nutzy! You have to share!

Bob doesn't share!

OK! I'll share with everyone except Bob!

*puts plate back*

*smooches* Weltek!

Carey: So why do you only have CMT on while Michelle is sleeping? Does she not like country music? I'm looking for other people to join my club. :-)

Michelle HATES country music. So I can only listen when she isn't around.

Two of my favorite cartoons, zombs.

And carey, I see why everyone lvoes Michelle. :-)

(I don't really HATE it...it's just not my first or second or even third choice of music)

I used to always turn on CNN in the mornings but lately, we tend to switch between CNN Headlines and Diane Sawyer.

In the car, we are now listening to a local rock station. The guys are called "The Regular Guys". One of them sounds just like Howard Stern. It's a similar style to Howard also. Raunchy but very funny. I like laughing in the morning. I don't want to hear about death or accidents.

*pushes Nutzy for being so greedy*

The Fairly Oddparents and Spongebob are my morning soundtrack.

I commute from the bedroom to the bathroom to the kitchen then to the den.

Start on the Today show and it gets worse.

At home, I listen to our local NBC affiliate and try to catch up a bit on the news. In the car, we switch between 3 country stations, Jack FM (our version of your Charlie), and KISS FM which is the current pop/rock type station with a decent morning show. I always flip stations when commercials are on because...well...if I wanted to hear 5 minutes of commercials and 10 minutes of a morning show, I'd listen to talk radio.

What I listen to in the morning with the kids really puts me in my mood for the day, so I try to keep it upbeat and fun. When I can't find anything good on the radio, the kids go through my extensive CD collection...which can get a bit scary at times *grin*

Carey, I thought Michelle went to see Big & Rich with you and enjoyed it?!?!?

When I worked, it was kiddie cartoons in the morning (Babar, Teletubbies, Dora, Balamory), then either some stupid francophone radio station (I hate them all.. the announcers are idiots) or the English CBC, which is pretty much all news. At work, I didn't listen to anything, as I get distracted easily.

Now, Eric gets up with Dominic almost every day, so I just hear the cartoons filtered through the door. After I get up, I sometimes flick on the TV, though I don't have a favourite. I would put on the radio if I could (CBC of course) but ours is broken.

I watch TV episodes on DVD ("The Pretender" this morning) while I do my workout, then listen to news on NPR while I get dressed, eat breakfast, and prepare for the day.

I like your Nookie link!!!

I usually put CNN on just in case there is something major I need to know about that happened too late to make my morning paper. Usually, after about 10 minutes I get annoyed and mute it.

In the car I listen to classic rock. I hate, hate, HATE country music and never listen to it!

Michelle did go to Big & Rich and she did enjoy them. But they are more rocky country and that's why she enjoyed it. Otherwise she gets mad at me when i play country.

I watch nothing in the a.m. I'm only awake long enough to do the bare minimum necessary to get myself to work on time. Well, late, but within the acceptable boundaries.

In the car, DD and I listen to the "Armstrong and Getty" morning show. They aren't overly political, they're regular guys like me, they're funny, and talk about interesting topics.

DD likes them too, except when they tease stories and take too long to get to the point.

Like Weltek I have an hour long commute to work each morning. In the car we have a whopping three choices: The Fox - classic rock; Easy Rock - which Dave calls Cheesy Rock; and CBC Radio that is mostly talk and news. Most of the time we listen to the Fox. Mitch and Leanne are my favorite morning crew.

We do have an AM Country station but the reception sucks. I miss FM country.

At home, while we are getting ready, Dave listens to Q107 (a Toronto classic rock station) over the satellite while I have Cheesy Rock on in the bedroom so I can catch the early news.

On weekends I normally have CMT on if I'm doing housework. Either that or the CMT radio station on the dish. On Sunday mornings Dave usually finds a bunch of fishing or snowmobiling shows. I let him have control of the remote on Sunday mornings and he lets me have control for the rest of the week. This is the secret to our long marriage. *grin*
