Flying back today from my annual conference that always falls on the weekend before Thanksgiving. This year it was in New Orleans. I arrived on Friday and didn't even have a drop of alcohol until last night (Monday). How sad is that? I'd been to NO a few times before, so didn't feel the need to go out, plus I was super busy til 8 pm every night. Glad to be done with the conference and my presentation. Now I only have one day of work this week!
Next year the conference is in Boston. It will be a good chance to catch up with an old friend from high school. I've been toying with not going, though, as it always falls on hunting weekend, meaning I have some nice time to myself at home.
The airport in New Orleans is quiet today. So glad!
Thursday I think we don't have any plans! Good day to clean the house because Friday evening my family is coming for Thanksgiving dinner. We are doing two 12 lb. turkeys-one smoked and flash fried, and one traditionally roasted. I've been in the mood to traditionally roast a turkey, which I haven't done for a few years.
I'm considering heading out for some Black Friday shopping for the first time ever. It's not really my usual cup of tea, but I'm in a pretty relaxed mood this year. I know, no better way to kill THAT than going out on Friday.
So, what are you up to?

I can believe that. Sometimes I like business trips just to be able to enjoy quiet time alone in my room.
I had 3 hours of alone time at the house on Friday when Michael took Conner to see Harry Potter. That was nice.
I roasted a turkey on Sunday - I usually do this because you can get them dirt cheap, and I love to eat the veggies that I throw in the pan, as well as hot dark meat right out of the oven.
I have never officially shopped on Black Friday either. Next year I am going to set aside $25 from each paycheck to have cash for Black Friday. I will do it once!
I think you should go to Boston, especially since work is paying. Enjoy your visit and maybe see Annmarie and Nze.
I will not do Black Friday again, ever! :)
Like Boo I am setting aside $50 from each paycheck for a Christmas fund. Next year I'll be better prepared. I hope.
Having worked in retail for a few years back in the day I despise Black Friday. Evilest day of the year.
