I'm a sucker for joining clubs if they offer me something cheap and cool (You know, like joining you bloggers a few years ago).
Today, I finally cancelled my Doubleday book club membership. I've been very neglectful of saying "no" to my featured selections lately, so it was time. Now, I'll wait until the temptation of "We want you back, get 6 books and free shipping with only two more to buy in the next 24 months!"

That reminds me - join Mystery Book Club and get 6 books for 99 cents.
The secret to joining the clubs, Kim, is to buy all the remaining books you must ( usually just a few) and then simultaneously quit with your first order. One of my Evil Sister's husbands (#3 or #4, I forget) built up a massive video collection doing just that. Join, quit. Join, quit. The clubs hated him but every Sunday there was a flyer in his newspaper so he could join if he wanted.
quitter.
I sooo don't need more books in my house. That's why I use my book service, when I'm done send them in and get the next ones on my list.
I should also mention I'm a BMG Music member. I'm better about responding to those, and it's good when I want to refresh my cd collection.
This sounds like one of the things you just can't leave alone. :)
I used to be this way with Columbia House and BMG. At one point, I have memberships at both places. And when I finally cancelled both, I was so happy.
*snort* You're right, Boo.
If only these evil clubs made cancelling easier.
LOL...it's been years since I've done those clubs. I just know I'll get taken for a ride and not follow through with the cancelling.
