This weekend we are moving MIL (in the rain) and finishing the deck. Today the daybed for the deck arrives. Yay!

I had leftover meatloaf for lunch. Do you like meatloaf? How do you make it? Standard way, or with other meats, seasonings, etc? Mine is a little different every time.

The daybed looks gorgeous!
My meatloaf is different every time too, and probably spicier than average. I like to mix in finely grated vegetables like onions, carrots, chillies, the leftover fat ends of brocoli (or whatever other veggies I have in the frige that need using up) and some pulverized Fiber One bran cereal. Along with powdered spices, of course.
I want that daybed!!!!! That is freaking awesome. I may look into that for the new vacation home.
I prefer turkey meatloaf over all others:
1 lb ground turkey
1 package of dry onion soup mix
1/2 onion (sauteed a little bit)
1/4 cup ground breadcrumbs (fiber one if on a diet)
sprinkle of cumin
garlic to taste
top with either ketchup or bbq sauce.
Holy smokes! That daybed is awesome. Colour me gellus.
I put horseradish, dijon, onions, garlic, oregano and other spices in my meatloaf. Also the obligatory egg and breadcrumbs.
I always put 1 or 2 tbls. of water in to keep it nice and moist
I'm not much of a meatloaf eater. I guess we didn't grow up with it or something. I do like it though.
Oh, I emailed you I wanted the CDs but I'm not sure I used the right address.
Applesauce.
If you put a little applesauce in the meatloaf it makes it moist, higher in fiber and with just a touch of sweetness. No one even knows it's in there.
Lunchlady tip of the day.
I would like to crawl up onto that and take a nap. Maybe I will call dibs on it now in case I ever come out to visit you in cheeseland.
Meatloaf. I love meatloaf. I didn't always, but I do now. My local grocer has a meatloaf they do, and I just love it. I know it has onions in it, but I don't know anything else. I have no desire to duplicate it. I'll just go buy it there. It has a red sauce, rather than a gravy. I don't like meatloaf with gravy.
Tuesdays are meatloaf days at the grocery store for lunch. I was all excited go because I haven't had any in forever. When I got there, there was a line at the hot bar. I waited patiently. Then, no meatloaf. Grrrr. Apparently someone messed up an order. I know it's a grocery store, right. They apparently make a lot of this stuff offsite. So I'll try again this Tuesday.
I love the new outdoor furniture! I've never made meatloaf. I've bought it pre-made from the market. I always hated meatloaf when I was a kid. Buggy's applesauce idea sounds intriguing.
Wow, awesome daybed!
I like my mom's meatloaf. She adds white rice to it and cooks it inside of bell peppers. Yummy! I add ketchup on it. Sofa king good!
I used to make my own but haven't in ages. I used bread crumbs. Mmm...meatloaf sounds yummy. I think I bought a meatloaf recently ... -wait here while I look... - ok, yep. I bought some made by Hormel and it's in a small container that does not need refrigerated. It has potatoes and gravy in there, too. Not sure I'll be brave enough to eat it...it only has 310 calories though! I'll let you know if it was any good.
You guys buy meatloaf? I would never buy anything made with ground meat because who knows what's in there! I buy my ground chuck from a local butcher who grinds it fresh on site.
I had to laugh at MM. We call those "stuffed peppers" and the meat made into a loaf, well that's "meatloaf"!
Love the daybed. I could see myself with some pillows and a book and a tall glass of tea. Yes I could.
I use chili powder in my meatloaf and bell peppers. I put crushed pineapple in it once. That didn't go over so well, but I had a partial can in the fridge that needed to be used! Isn't that what meatloaf is for!
