Brie wrapped in phyllo for you today.
It's good to be back at work. It was a long week away.
1. Why do so many children fly at night? My flight out was filled with kiddos. It didn't get into CA from the midwest until 11:30, so there were lots of grumpy children when they had to get up. The kid behind me kicked my seat the whole time. On the way home, I had a red eye flight and again, filled with kiddos. It was a full flight and I had mom, ~6 month old twins and a 2 year old boy in my aisle. The twins were great. The boy? Laid on his seat horizontally and kicked me the whole time in my thigh. I didn't have the heart to say something to mom with the two twins with her. After all, they were being great!
2. See's lollipops are great.
3. Bravie was guessed at 32 years old. That would STILL make me younger than her.
4. Chris and I helped shear sheep this weekend.
Baaaaahhhh.

*snort* I looooooved that bar. *giggle*
Ohhhh, how did the shearing go? Are you going to knit us a fancy sweater?
I don't ever want a wool sweater again. There were some poop cling ons that went into those bags. I don't care how much it gets washed. It's still gross.
Just avoid the brown wool sweaters.
Ewwwwwwwwwww I didn't need to hear about the poop wool. *covers eyes*
*pops into blog*
Hi. That is all
*pops out of blog*
I think the clown meant that she pooped in and then pooped out of the blog. That's what I think. Now you can't blame ME for that smell in here.
I watched a sheep get shorn in New Zealand. You're right about the poop clingons. I still bought wool socks with little sheep on them, clingons be damned.
I think the thinking behind kiddos on red-eyes is that they're be tired and sleep for the whole flight. Having been on my fair share of red-eyes, I can't say that it works. Lots of kids are just too excited to sleep.
That was also my thought , Fro. But WOW were kiddos not happy about being woken up, having to gather their things and walk through the airport. Babies were fine...that 2-7 year old age? Not so much.
I don't doubt that at all. I know how pissy my two get when woken up before they are good and ready...Yeeps. Transatlantic flight, probably okay. Halfway across the country? No way in hell.
*smooch*
I'll tell you why the kiddos fly at night. It's when the flights are affordable. Young families traveling for personal reasons / pleasure are probably the most cost conscious as a group. Business people, many of whom have companies footing the bill, are not as worried about fares. The daytime flights are more popular with them.
The family with small kids never has that kind of money and they take the cheapest thing they can get, which is the red-eye. It's cheaper because it's less in demand.
Oh, and I love See's candy, but could pass on the lollipops.
So, like, if you see me wearing a wool ski cap are you going to call me a poophead? *head tilt*
Glad you had fun!
I love the Sees lollipops! Darn it, now I'm craving one.
And my grandfather used to shear sheep all the time. I was always scared of the whole process. He *did* make me pluck chickens though. *shudder*
One of these times, (if Carey will share you) we'll have to meet!
There are probably more kids flying right now because school just let out for the summer. I had 3 screamers near me on the flight from Frankfort to LAX.
