Baked Potatoes

Let's have cheesy topped baked potatoes today. I love baked potatoes. I like them with either butter or sour cream, plus lots of salt & pepper. However, they are fun to make as a meal with lots of other toppings & I think I'd like to do that tonight.

So, get my salivary glands going. What would YOU like on your baked potato?

Mmmmmmmm. I want butter. Lots and lots and lots of butter. I like to add a splash of cream to help keep them moist. Lots of salt and bacon bits. Not those fake bacos things. Real bacon. And a little bit of cheddar cheese to help bind it. And some sauteed maui sweet onions too.

I thought this was supposed to be about waffles.

I love Baked Potatoes.

At home I will eat it with salt, pepper, butter, and sour cream. A lot of sour cream. Sometimes cheese. And at home, I eat the skin.

When dining out I like 'em loaded: butter, sour cream, chives, cheese, bacon bits, salt, and pepper. I can go either way on the bacon bits. Restaurants never give me enough sour cream, so I either ask for more or just suffer in silence.

I also like twice baked potatoes.

Sometimes I will cook some frozen veggies and add them to the stuffed potato mixture.

I'm not really a fan of any baked potato that doesn't have sour cream. One time I ate dinner at someone's house who didn't have sour cream. I was so miserable, but I didn't dare not eat it because I didn't want to seem ungrateful.

I am so hungry, but I'm still too sick to keep anything of substance down.

I probably shouldn't have posted that little tidbit.

I don't like sour cream. Yucky. But I do like to add broccoli to my baked potatoes sometimes.
and I too want waffles.

Boo, are you secretly trying to make a list in my blog comments?

I like them with lots of butter, a bit of chopped chives and a nice crispy skin. A tiny bit of Jack cheese is nice but I don't need it.

I used to like the baked potatoes at Carl's Jr. but I don't think they have them, anymore. Does Wendy's?

MM-I went to my first Carl's Jr. in SF (it was right outside our hotel). Their breakfast burritos were super tasty for a fast food joint!

Wendy's DOES still have baked potatoes. I usually get that & a bowl of chili.

Oh please don't spoil my potato with ucky, fattening stuff. Ick. Those potato skins things at Friday's and stuff are vile!

A small pat of butter, a sprinkle of salt and pepper and I am good to go! ...and make sure the butter melts and oozes out to cover the skin, that is the best part after all!

I like to mash and eat the inside first, then eat the skin. Yum! :9

You made me hungry for potato skins, but I didn't want to spend that much money at lunch so I got some potato wedges with ranch dipping sauce instead. Yum!

Please may I have a baked potatoe with butter... lots of it, and maybe some cheese! I think it is Red Lobster who has the salty skins on the potatoes.. THAT? I love!

Bravie said...

what is this salty skin that you speak of? I'm a salt freak and this sounds like something i must try.

Carey (Weltek, please excuse me for using your blog to reply to her.. :-) I'm not sure if it is Red Lobster, but before the po-tah-toes are baked.. it seems that Sea salt or something is put on them.. Yummy! Sometimes before I bake them at home, wrapped in foil, of course, I wet the potato and sprinkle some salt on it, but it's just not quite the same as the restaurant one...

Can I have a baked sweet potato instead? With butter and cinnamon, please.

Arkie, there used to be a restaurant here that ONLY served sweet potatoes/yams with their steaks... not something I could do.. yams/sweet potatoes make me gag.. they were the one food that I didn't have to eat as a child!
