THURSDAY: Wisconsin to Michigan
I totally forgot about the time change between the states & called Breezy about an hour after she was expecting us to be there (doh!). After our 6.5 hour drive, we pulled up to the Breezy house...or what we assumed was. There was no house number, so I was just going on her description. A man came to the door as we were walking up.
Me: Are you Mr. Breezy (ok, I used his real name)?
Man: *looks at me with confusion* Who?
Me: I'm looking for Mr. & Mrs. Breezy's house.
Man: *shakes head* I don't know who that is.
Voice in background: Now you know why Carey wants you to kick his butt!
Yep, we had the right house. Mr. Breezy was just being Mr. Mischievious. *kicks his butt*
We immediately felt at home since Breezy had a Packers blanket on the couch and a shrine downstairs (along with her mini green monstah). Breezygirl was so shy at first.
We went outside to enjoy the afternoon. Chris immediately became fixated on the tractor sprinkler. It travels along the hose to water a large lawn space without having to move sprinklers & hoses. Guess was landed on our Monday Menard's shopping trip list? Then Mr. Breezy & Chris started working on one of Mr. Breezy's toys: the Harley. Breezy and I decided drinking on the deck sounded more fun.
One guess what she made for "drinks". Points for the peeps that guessed JELLO SHOTS! And not just a few...a whole 9x13 double stacked pan of them. And they were HUGE. And the blue ones? Totally lethal. She tried to tell us she just used a cup of vodka. I think Breezy lies and was just trying to get us drunk.

Anywhooooo, Breezygirl was cracking me up. She is so smart, confident, beautiful & silly. It's easy to tell what a great relationship she and her mom have.
Ok, guessing time again! Guess what Breezy made for dinner. BEER BUTT CHICKEN! But we had to start the grill first. And the ignition switch wasn't lighting the fire, so Breezy broke out the lighter. But it wasn't one of those long stick lighters, it was just a cigarette lighter. How would THIS help light the grill? She starts mumbling about spaghetti. *boggle* You can't cook spaghetti on the grill, I thought. She triumphantly comes out of the house with a single spaghetti noodle and proceeded to try & light it on fire. I think I about burst my stomach from laughing so hard. After a few minutes, and to my amazement, it actually was on fire & she was able to light the grill. I still think she's crazy.

We ate the yummy dinner while the husbands and some other men tinkered on the bikes. There were sparks flying from the garage & everything. They finally came in & we chatted for hours. We even did a shot of Naners! Oh, and Chris drank some patootie (as we decided to call it) that I hear Clueless is responsible for.
Finally we hit the hay, since I decided Chris looked quite drunk & was really blabbering. :-)
Friday morning we were very sad to say goodbye & that we couldn't force the Breezy's in the truck to come to Niagara Falls (they had a wedding that weekend where Breezygirl was a junior bride).
Breezy is such a laid-back, fun, intelligent and kind person. She and her daughter are both beautiful. They look so much alike! I hope that we'll have another chance to hang out with the Breezy's again!

*snort* That's why Mr. Breezy is my twin.
Sounds like a great time and I'm not at all gellus of either of you.
Yipppppeeeeee!
I am so very jealous. And, you left out all of the parts where you were talking about all of us. And where are the pictures. And I think you and Nolay are just so adorable in Seana's pictures.
I'm having an uber hard time uploading the pics....I'll keep trying!
Boo, you are too sweet. And all those things lights said a few blog posts ago? None of them are true. :-)
*snort* I told you! Real Simple told me to use spaghetti if I had no long matches in the house. *grin*
*smooch* So glad you two could stop and visit on the way to Niagra. *evil grin* I should have sent the patootie with you guys.
Sounds like a great time, Kim. Somehow I thought Breezy was going to be a one-hour drive-by visit or something. I'm glad you got to spend more time there!
*kicks Nolay* Oops! I thought you were Mr. Breezy!
I was bummed I forgot to pack some leftover jello shots for the peeps in Niagara!
Breezy? Who's that?
*head tilt*
Aww, it sounds lovely. And I am super jealous too.
Did she put the charred spagetti back in the package when she was done?
Long candles work, too
*whacks* for zombs
Grrr, I had to google "tractor sprinkler." I'm going to tell DH about using uncooked spaghetti or long candles to light the BBQ. I'm loving all these peep meet stories. It's the summer of the peep meet!
The correct term is Rain Train. *grin* We have two.
We now also have two. One apparently wasn't enough. We came home to a dried up lawn, so the "rain trains" got a workout last night.
I've gotten the "water even if rain is in the forecast" every ten minutes before he left for work and every phone call since then.
I could probably broker a deal for you with some cheap Mexicans to put in an irrigation system. Complete with the fricking pole sitting out of the ground. Which, by the way, is now green.
Sounds like so much fun! I can't wait to hear more.
So, you have any pics?
I still can't post them. Stupid blogger.
flickr won't let me see the first two. *pout*
ok, pics are uploaded! The pic of breezy & I doing a shot are of us doing 99 Bananas. We thought Carey would be proud.
I can't open the first two either. *pout*
I can see them!! I am extremely envious. *sigh*
We make "beer butt chicken" as well but we call it "beer can chicken". Do you inject it with beer as well and stuff the neck with onions and lemons?
I'm always proud when someone does a shot of the Nanners. *big proud grin*
Breezy used corona & limes. The limes made it smell good, but didn't add any citrusy flavor that we could detect. Still delicious, though!
Hi! Maybe next time, Breezy will use her hairnet to drain her spagehtti! She is a hoot when she does that-- like a crazy drunk lady from one of them square states. The beer butt chicken looks yummy and fun-- well mybe not so much fun for the chicken of course.
Breezy Girl is a love. A true testimony to how wonderful her mother is. Glad you guys had so much fun. I am jealous.
So. When are you coming to Boston for chowdah and lobstah?
You mean instead of Italian food with couscous, I could have had beer butt lobstah? *stomps off*
WaaaaaaaaH!
I want to sit on a porch and drink jello shots!
WHY am I in a lab?
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!
I'm going to sit here and have a big ol' pity party.
I wanna meet Breezy and Breezygirl and Weltek (and maybe even Mr Breezy and Nolay, although I seem to be married to Nolay's twin). And I want a tractor sprinkler.
Waaaaaaaaaaaah!
OMH. I'm more jealous than ever. I've never even HAD a jello shot, and I would *lvoe* to meet you and all the peeps you were with.
1. Jealous
2. I had my first ever jello shot a couple of days ago.
3. *smooch*
Why are you gals so bundled up in the middle of July?
LOL, it does look like we are crazy northerners in our sweatshirts! It was beautiful all day, but when the sun started going down, it cooled off a lot. Twas the standard weather last week.
MM, you must go home tonight & make jello shots! Don't let Breezy pour the vodka, though. She can't read measuring cups.
*evil eye* I can so read measuring cups!!! I put one cup in. That was it. *grin*
So that's what it was, you forgot the "equal portion" of water. *evil eye back*
Breezy is most definitely all of those things (including crazy). Glad you had fun. *smooch*
LOL at the size of those jello shots. I've yet to have one. *pout*
Two of my favorite girls together. YAY!
That pic of the beer butt chicken skeers me LOL.
Oh and Breezy! Your backyard looks lovely.
Jello shots in October!!!!!!!!!
WOOHOO!
Breezy is indeed tons of fun and a joy to be with.
I'm so glad you guys had fun.
Augie <--- not gellus at all. no way.
