If you are looking for cheese, I'm putting Bob in charge while I'm gone. Please, I encourage harassment of Bob. I bet she'll put out some fancy cheese for you if you ask nicely.
My Independence Day weekend was ok. Worked a lot at the theater. Made enough money to pay for vacation between Chris and I. Yay! Went to Chris's brothers & sat around outside. It was ok. Just nice not to be working. However, yesterday morning we were supposed to go boating. Instead, Chris's brother & SIL needed help picking up windows they bought from a flea market. They were heavy double paned windows for a four-season porch that they intended to seperate & use for a greenhouse. Well, that took 2 hours of heavy lifting where FIL hurt his knee quite badly, SIL got some nasty scratches & I had a bungee cut & snap against my knees. Everyone else got some pretty sore backs out of the deal. We just went home after that.
But good news! Tomorrow morning I head out to see Breezy! Then Friday I head out to see lots of OT peeps! Seana is afraid we are all crazy. Well, she's probably right.
Tonight...I get to meet dragonflies, albeit, for about 15 minutes. Yay!

*eyes up seana with crazy internet stalker eyes*
I still have to pack my knife & bondage kit.
Breezy is quite boring. You may want to bring a book so you don't die of boredom. *giggle*
Please pass along a message to her DH for me? Kick him and tell him that is for hanging up on me.
Yay for peep meets.
*smooches* for:
Kim
Seana
Carey
Breezy
I will add more smooches later. Oh Kim, can you smooch dragonflies for me? I just realized I haven't said "hi" to her in ages!
Should I kick Mr. Breezy immediately upon meeting him, or wait til I've said hello?
*smooches MTW*
This is the Summer of the Peep Meets. Have fun!
I guess you could say hello, first. But then kick him. I'm sure he'll do something to deserve a kick while you're there. *giggle*
*smooches* MTW
Oh!!!! but you have to tell him it's from "Babydoll". Then he is sure to know it is from me.
Please give Breezy and Seana a big hug from me.
Boo <---- So very jealous!
Why was I not aware how many bloggers will be going to Niagra?? I am so jealous! Please take lots of pictures, ok? Have a great time, Kim!
I'm eating a really yummy sub & just had to share.
It's 6" long & about 4" across, so it's very large.
Bread: Jalepeno cheddar
Fillings: artichokes, roasted red peppers, black beans, chipotle mayo, lettuce, tomato, a tad bit o guacamole.
Oh, and in other food news, I made and ate my first whole artichoke. It was quite confusing for me, as I thought you were supposed to be able to eat the whole leaves, but I cooked it for an hour & those darn leaves weren't all edible. I realized I could scrape the inside of the leaves with my teeth & get yumminess. It seemed very wrong. After speaking with someone at work, I found out that IS the way you are supposed to eat them. *schmack*
I've never eaten an artichoke and would have no idea how to do so, but I still would have loved seeing you trying to figure it out. *giggle*
Ok, I'm having peep-meet gellusy overload here! *pout*
Ask Breezy to clog for you.
*smooches Puffy*
*smooches carey*
*smooches Boo*
*smooches MM*
*smooches Nookie*
Grandma taught us to peel the leaves and eat the squishy parts with caesar dressing. It's delicious. Lol at the image of you trying to eat the leaves. Lots of peep meets...color me jealous.
Mmmm, I love artichokes. Here is California, they grow everywhere and people pay you to take them off your hands! LOL, just kidding. I do love them though.
Add a little melted butter or ranch dressing and they're even better. Do you know the heart is the best part, but you have to scoop out the center thistly stuff with a spoon?.
*smooches Debs*
*realizes Carey got two, which isn't fair, so smooches everyone else a second time*
MTW <--full of useful artichoke facts

But not for Kim, who I will see IN PERSON shortly. Hee!
For some reason I thought Carey was coming. Isn't she? If so *hop* and *grin*. If not, *pout*
I did dip the leaves in some garlic butter. Yum! I luckily was immediately suspicious of the thistley, hairy part near the heart. I can't believe I ate all the leaves & the heart in one sitting. My belly was full. *hates California peeps for their plentiful chokes*
As an added flavor, you can cook the choke in water and red wine vinegar. Yummy. Also, if you cut them in half prior to cooking, it cuts the cooking time in half. I also cut out the hairy stuff before I cook. Therefore I have no work once they are done cooking. I also eat the stem. I mix it with the heart and garlic butter and make a pasty goo out of it. Delicious.
I sadly will not be at the meet. *pout*
Nookie, I will make you an artichoke when you come to visit me. *grin*
Have fun at your peep meets, Kim!
Artichokes are too complicated to be worth the bother, IMO. I only eat them if someone else does the cooking.
Come to my house, Swami. I'll cook for you. I'll even add the extra touch of throwing them on the bbq after steaming them. It adds a nice mequite flavor to them.
Carey is WAY more artichoke savvy than I am. Swami, if you can boil water, you can prepare an artichoke. I do think we should both go to Carey's for a BBQ though.
*smooches swami*
Let me know when so I can go shopping for the artichokes. I'll run over to Half Moon Bay and get some super fresh ones.
Carey, pencil me in for late October.
I'm not eating anything that is hairy. LOL
Done, Swami.
Must not comment on Nookie's comment. Must not comment.
*grin*
So then. Zombie's toes are safe now?
*snort*
Cheesehead and Breezy are probably hanging out with each other right now as we speak. *pout*
I'm so gellus. waaaaaaaaaaaaah.
I hope Kim remembers to kick Mr. Breezy for me.
Hope you had a wonderful time with Breezy today and have a great time this weekend with all the OTers.
*smooooooooooch*
Have fun!
Are you there yet?
Are you with Breezy yet?
Are you talking about me yet?
Do you miss me yet?
Do you have The Kite Runner yet?
Are you back yet?
And Bob is doing an excellent job with the cheese.
And we miss you.
And have you seen that cute little Seana yet?
Blah, blah, blah... yada yada...
Pffft!!!
Things I learned about Weltek...
1) She has one of the best laughs ever although she may have to share that honor with Maroonclown.
2) She REALLY likes sangria.
3) She's quite flexible and I have the picture to prove it.
4) She has a great husband. *waves at Nolay*
5) She's a great hugger.
We had an awesome time hanging out with Weltek and Nolay. They are every bit as wonderful in real life as they are around here and OT.
*smooches* Hope you have a safe trip home.
*Makes note to order Sangria when Weltek & I have dinner hopefully Friday*
She is a great hugger.
It was great seeing you for the drivebye peep meet Kim!
