Pizza, heavy on the mozzarella, today.
I have nothing interesting to update with, so I'll force some randoms.
Football
I'm having so much fun watching the Packers. They seem to be having a really fun season. It makes me smile. We met some friends to watch the game at a bar yesterday. We had a drinking game. Everytime this annoying man at the bar said "Giddy up!" or "Git er done" we drank. Ugh, it was hard to keep up! We weren't shy about it, but I don't think he ever caught on.
Oh, and momma wondered why nobody likes the Cowboys? It's the ego factor. The Cowboy's have always been a very egotistical team and it seems to come from the top down. They far-too-often let their players act like punks over the years.
Lack of motivation at home
I've been horrible about doing projects around the house. I clean, do laundry, etc., but cannot make myself tackle some projects. I think I'm so burnt out from work that I have little energy left on the weekends.
Christmas trees
I think I'm going fake this year. We haven't put up a tree for the last two years because of kittens. They would certainly climb and chew their way to death (I might have to kill them), so we just decided to save ourselves the stress. I miss it though. So now I'm considering a fake tree on the front porch (outdoors). I saw an ad in the Parade section yesterday for an online source with free shipping. I need to check them out. I cringe at the thought of shopping in stores this time of year.

Thank you for updating. I refused to post in your CMA post becauseof the mention of Pickler. Hrmph.
The 49ers are anything but fun to watch this year. Luckily for some reason they have been showing the Packers games out here this season. So I am watching those and having fun.
I'll agree to the egos. They do have that.
An outdoor tree? You live in the boonies. Just decorate a tree in the front yard and put some fake presents around it, instead of buying one. *grin*
This post brought to you by the biggest Texas Redneck in Blogland.
*giggle* You two make me smile.
I've been terribly unmotivated lately too. I have several projects I want to do and can't seem to get any of them started.
Football - I have adopted Green Bay as my backup team. I was watching yesterday, then left for a while. When I came back, the network had switched to the Eagles-Redskins game. WTF? I know the Packers were destroying Minnesota, but I didn't think they'd switch that early (3rd quarter).
Then, I start getting into the Redskins game and watched until the two minute warning, when they switched to the Raider/Bear game which hadn't even started yet! How freakin' annoying!
It's like football schizophrenia!!!
Yep, sorry Momma. The Cowboys could have redeemed themselves a little if they had taken any action against their drug thugs. They never did.
Go Pack Go!!!
I've always been lucky for the holidays. Ya'll need to move far away from your family. I can cook whatever/whenever I want and stay in my PJ's all day. (normally)*grin*
We were at a friend's house for a Packer Party, and he has Dish. He is also a Viking fan, but very gracious anyway, even if he did yell for us all to GTF out of his house after the game. We didn't though, so he switched to RZN. Red Zone Network. Talk about schizophrenia. They switch between games where a team is in the Red Zone, or where time is running out and one team is driving for a game winning or tieing score. Incredible. I loved it. I want Dish.
Oh my. I've never seen the RZN. We have Dish, and I don't think I want to find it.
LOL that he told you to GTF out after the game. :-)
If the Vikings and Packers are playing each other and one of them has to win, I root for the Packers.
Much like the fact that I don't hate Brett Favre, I don't hate the Packers. I prefer that the Bears win when they're playing the Packers but I'm allowed to be a homer, right?
Of course, the Bears stink. So that makes it easy to root for the Packers.
We always have a fake tree. I want to get one of those pre-lit ones. I figure if I'm going to go fake I want to go all out good fake.
Chris thinks I should get a pre-lit fake, although we already have a lot of lights.
I don't mind the Bears. I'll often root for them if it's of little consequence to the Packers. I mean, who can hate a team that had enough humility to make the Super Bowl Shuffle?
I have the Super Bowl Shuffle on cassette. I still know most of the words.
That's what happens when there's a 20+ year gap in between appearances in the Super Bowl.
"This is Steve, and it's no wonder. I run like lightning, pass like thunder! So bring on Atlanta, bring on Dallas, this is for Mike and Papa Bear Halas. But I'm not here to feathers-ruffle. I'm just here to do the super bowl shuffle"
Bowmp bowmp, bowmp bowmp,
(the first time I typed out ruffle it came out "fuggle")
Only once in, like, 30 years have I had a cat actually climb the tree. Mostly they don't like the prickly needles and pine tar and are easily distracted by dangly ornaments.
They drink the tree water though - so I can't put any preservative stuff into that.
Actually, I always used to have my tree wired to a plant hook in the ceiling so even if it tipped a bit it would not come crashing down. (This is because my kid was quite likely to climb it.) :-)
Growing up we had a cat that climbed the tree, every.damn.year. We had to tie the top of the tree to the curtain rod.
I have a small 4ft fake tree. I love it! It's not so big that it takes up half the room.
How did I miss this entry? How, how, how? I think I was too boycotting because of Pickler.
Football: I am not having fun watching the Redskins. I haven't had fun since we beat the snot out of Detroit. I am, however, enjoying Chris Cooley's segment on Monday morning radio here. I love Chris Cooley.
I agree with Breezy about the Cowboys. Plus I'm a Skins fan. I could never root for the Cowboys.
Home:
I thought I would have more time with the cleaning lady. I haven't. I'm not sure what it is I do all day, but it has nothing to do with house projects. Well I did re-organize the pantry this weekend. But that's all. I have some Christmas projects to get busy on.
I have been drinking a little bit of wine lately. But I can only drink it if I'm eating cheese and crackers with it. I cannot drink it straight up. And I still need to find that grapy stuff. But I feel the need to have some mellow.
Christmas Trees
There were a couple of years before Conner that we didn't have one. And we also didn't the year he turned 1. Now we have a real one for downstairs and a little tiny one for his room. Apparently I offended his aunt by not having one when he turned 1, so she bought him one and decorated it with all of his favorite characters: Dora ensemble, Sesame Street ensamble and Scooby Doo.
This year we are going to do a third tree either in the playroom or in the kitchen.
Boo just earned 9 friendship points with me.
Frodis! That made me giggle. I'm glad I'm not the only one that knows the words to the Super Bowl Shuffle.
Maybe we can make a Blogland Shuffle. If we give Boo more wine, I bet she'd be our choreographer.
Because I'm jumping off the wagon?
Because you were boycotting Pickler.
Oh. Yeah, I can't stand her.
By the way, I have accumulated 14 points over the past week. I decided not to go for that 50 deal because my salt container was empty.
Anywho, is there a redemption counter somewhere. I'd like to look at the prizes.
But they are super-secret prizes. I wouldn't want to give out standard friendship prizes. They must be personalized to the friend. Sheesh. What kind of girl do you think I am? A friendship ho?
There is no professional football team in Los Angeles. Thank God!
No worries about Christmas trees when you're Jewish. Just sayin'.
