I'm baaaack

Fondue this morning. Grab some veggies and bread cubes and dip in.

I have had a busy last few weeks! After my final, we hit MILs to put in her garden (two weekends ago). It was back breaking labor. Then, Mon-Wed last week, I put my garden in and did a ton of yard work. I was beat by Thursday morning. However, I still had to pack for camping. We left Thursday afternoon for our annual Memorial Day camping trip. We always hit a state park for a long weekend.

This year we went to Perrot State Park on the Mississippi. It was beautiful. Last year we purchased a bigger tent and I love it. We used to have a small, low to the ground tent (all the better for keeping the warm air in), but to me, it was worth the space to get the new one. There is a certain enjoyment in standing up to change clothes instead of rolling around on the air mattress.

When we returned home yesterday, we took a nap, then hung out on the patio reading the newspaper. It was a beautiful evening.

Sigh...back to work now. I have a ton of stuff to do. That's always the bad part about vacation.

*raises hand* I went camping too! My brother arranged a group campsite for us -about 25 total with my siblings and a cousin's family! My brother played chuckwagon & arranged all the food - so that was fabulous! But, after two nights camping, I was SOOO happy to have a shower & get into my own bed!

Our last tent had 3 rooms, lol. When you have kids you need a big tent!

How nice of you to put in the MIL's garden. Does she need a big vegetable garden? Tom's mom had her kids plant her ginormous vegetable garden when she got too old for all the digging involved each spring. The pay-off was that the kids always got free fresh produce with every visit, and lots of home-made jams. Do you get a similar pay-off?

Now Tom's mom is too old for a big garden, so the kids just plant a small, 12 x 20 foot bed of mostly potatoes. MIL needs her home-grown potatoes.

I'm hoping for lots of homemade jam, swami. MIL wants to live off the garden practically. She's a miser.

I think that's a funny term, "put in a garden." Could you come and put one in at my house. I would love some fresh tomatoes and cucumbers.

Yay for your weekend!

Fondue sounds good to me right now. Mmmmmm, cheese Grommitt.

Thanks for your comment on my blog. I am trying to figure out how to comment on my own blog, lol, to address those comments, so I came here to thank you.

We did the Memorial Day camping trip this year, which is unusual for us. We visited Lewisburg, WV, because our niece graduated from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. It was nice to be with family, starting with a Friday night dinner at the General Lewis Inn. I'll have pics on my blog.

I don't care much for tenting, because I am a light sleeper and wake up at the slightest noise outside. It sounds like you had a great time in your bigger tent. We 3 slept in the tiny aliner.

Heh, I had to use earplugs. Between Chris's snoring and the train that runs along the Mississippi, I was glad I brought them.
