Thinking about Me

Have some dill havariti & be introspective with me.

I'm a slow thinker. I would say I'm fairly intelligent, but I just take awile to process things. For example, if we are doing an outdoor project together or building something, Chris doesn't understand why he can't just say one word and have me understand what he means within seconds. I thought about it, and I think it's just the way my brain works. I've never been able to quickly do math in my head. On paper I'm fast. I can't spell words aloud. But on paper, I'm fine. I don't get it.

MTW made me think about my anger style again the other day. I'm like him..sometimes I just need 15 minutes to be angry & let it pass. I can't usually think clearly if I'm angry, so it's better if I don't say anything at all.

On an unrelated subject...did you enjoy coloring Easter eggs as a kid? Do you still enjoy it now? Did everyone make an egg dipped in every color (we called it the puke egg). Did you get fancy & do multi colored ones? We often wrote on eggs with crayons before we dipped them. And I liked the stickers that came in the Paas kits. The fuzzy duck was my favorite.

Happy Friday, Kim. I think I'm alot like you in that respect. It takes me a while to process things sometimes. Math, I can totally do in my head very quickly, spelling too, but other things that require more comprehension take longer.

Arguing is something I'm slow at. I can never come up with my best arguments until after I've digested everything and thought it through. Perhaps because I relly do spend time looking at both sides of an argument. I can't just blindly argue mine. It puts me at quite a disadvantage during a spontaneous exchange.

Plus, I just like to *experience* the emotion of anger, get it over with and move on.

Easter Eggs. I'm just glad my DW likes to do all that stuff. I'm not much into Easter egg dying. I do like the egg hunt. We have one every year at our house and it's a lot of fun. Of course, mostly, I like it because of the candy.

We made tie dyed easter eggs last year. They actually have a package for doing that. It was fun.
and yes, we also did the puke ones too. *grin*

We may be dying eggs today. I'm not sure. Since we are in no real hurry to get it done, I will be happy if I go buy 2 dozen eggs today.

I still enjoy dying them and decorating them. I think we have two or three different kits to choose from around here this year.

We may dye eggs Sunday after DD gets home, but probably not. She's just too busy!

It takes me quite a while to get annoyed. I think I generally assume the best of people and then when I realise they are actually being jerks, I feel annoyed and a bit dull.

I also am a super slow slow thinker. I can barely answer questions on things I understand very well.

I miss dying Easter eggs. Maybe I should kidnap a child and dye sggs with them.

BTW, I have a lot of black poop today.

Of course it's in the form of bags of manure and it's in my trunk. Gardening time!

I'm probably sadistic when I get angry. Whenever we've had the biggest arguments, I'm kinda laughing on the inside, because I love the excitement! No matter how angry I get, I'm always on the verge of laughing. Now my son does that when he gets in trouble and it annoys the hell out of me. Maybe it's more of a nervous thing?

Uh... huh?
Oh.
Yeah...
I think quick!

We still do eggs (I have some cooling right now) but my kids never fussed over the eggs like I did. We did half n half dipped, double dipped, little messages, stickers, little "costumes" which were mostly yellow chicks.

I liked polka dot eggs. Color the egg yellow. Make polka dots with that little crayon, dip egg in blue. Instant green egg with yellow dots. You really have to coat well with the crayon though.

We also did free-hand fancy paint jobs using full strength food color and artists brushes when we were older. Sometimes just regular watercolors but then those eggs could never be eaten.

I remember I once rescued a particularly lovely egg before it could be turned into egg salad and hid it in my closet. Sometime in August my mother was looking for the source of a funny smell in my closet. Egg fell down, broke open, and pheeeeeeew! Boy did it smell gross!

ugh... don't tell alex that we are ruining her first easter, but we aren't coloring eggs.

first of all, nobody is going to eat them. secondly, she's 2 months old. thirdly, we are leaving tomorrow afternoon. fourthly, i took her to see the dammit bunny and that should count for something!

in other news, we used to make 1/2 and 1/2 eggs... half one color, half another. but it was annoying b/c you had to hold half an egg in vinegardyewater for long enough to dye it on that little metal hook or whatever the shit that is.

never made a puke egg. my sister and i were very rule-abiding children. we always threw the stickers away. we liked plain jane eggs. we used to intend an egg for each person we would go see, and we did that via white crayon before dipping. so the egg would be dyed blue, say, and have Grandma on it in white. that's about as crazy as we got. lol boring kids

i gave my goddaughter her easter basket on palm sunday b/c it contained all the goodies to make sweet eastery cupcakes. frosting, cake mix, and those sugary sprinkly things shaped like bunnies and tulips. i gave them to her early so she could have cupcakes made on easter to share with people. she's 11 (12 in june) and big into baking. yet, she can't make a frozen pizza without burning it. go figure.

cq, that's such a cute idea about giving a basket of baking goodies on Palm Sunday!
