Nose and Baths

I don't think anyone wants my cheese today. Maybe Bob will kindly provide some in her blog.

I'm still sneezy and stuffy and runny all at once. I only came to work today because I didn't get everything done I needed to yesterday AND we still have interview candidates coming in today. I really needed to be here for that.

Tomorrow? Tomorrow I might stay home if I still feel carpy.

I took a bath last night and realized I'm almost out of LUSH stuff. Good thing I'm headed to SF in November and will be staying a few blocks from the store. *hop*

Quick question: Ricotta or Cottage cheese in your lasagne?

Ick! Blech!! Yuck!!!

Neither ricotta or cottage cheese. ANYTHING but ricotta or cottage cheese. These are the reasons I rarely eat lasagna unless I make it myself.

Ricotta. I've never tried cottage cheese but I don't think I'd like that in lasagna.

I hope you feel better soon. Those little linger-ey snuffly drippy colds are the worst.

Poor Kimmy. You need to get some Advil Cold & Sinus asap. Tell Chris to bring you some on his lunch break.

Ricotta if I'm making lasagne. But DH and the kids don't much like anything but mozzerella and parmesan. *sigh*

I tried mixing half ricotta and half drained cottage cheese...I thought it was really good that way. Chris still hates any ricotta, though. Darn it.

As long as it's not pink eye . . .

Ricotta is my pick. I add a few eggs, varios Italian spices, and also a blend of grated Italian cheeses.

All that cheese of course has consequences, which is why I don't make it very often.

I've gone both ways. I like cottage cheese more and Tom likes Ricotta more. But I just use a little bit.

My lasagnas tend to be full of either spinach or zucchini, with no meat and very little cheese.

I like the Dayquil/Nyquil combo for colds like yours.

kim (weltek) said...

I would love to put a ton of spinach in our lasagne, but Chris might disown me.

See...I think this is where Chris decides that your foodie bone is whacky.

Whatever cheese is in cheese filled ravioli, that's what I use. Course that's what I use for my lasagne noodles too. *grin*

Normally cottage cheese. But sometimes I will use Ricotta. Either works fine in my fabulous lasagne. *grin*

kim (weltek) said...

Can't you just be normal, Breezy?

Ricotta is divine! Love that stuff. Are you making us lasagna?

I use ricotta. However, I have no idea why I use it and I have no idea how I'm supposed to use it. I just lump it on some of the layers and spread it out. I know I'm doing something wrong. So, why do I use it? Because I always hear peeps saying they put ricotta in their lasagna LOL.

I love lasagna. Wish I could make a really good one. Mine is ok. Unfortunately it's always veggie now. *pout*

I've never made lasagna.

Breezy? Normal?

*hands Kim some Advil Cold & Flu and a glass of water*

First macaroni in chili and now this?

Blasphemy dear Kimmy!

Lots and lots of mozz in lasagna with a fat layer of parm on top. Makes the top nice and brown and bubbly.

So Breezy, what do you do, cut open little individual raviolis, scoop out the cheese and put it in your lasagne?

kim (weltek) said...

I would NEVER put macaroni in chili---whomever said that, it wasn't me!

And ricotta is the traditional way. With parm and mozz, too, of course.

I always thought the cottage cheese in lasagna idea was weird. And yucky.
Ricotta all the way.
Mmmm, now I want some Eyetalian.

Hey I am making lasagna tomorrow! I do ground beef, ricotta and mozzerella. Mmmm...I am also making stromboli too.

Cottage cheese in lasagna? That is just so wrong. Just plain cottage cheese is wrong.

Now I'm eating pumpkin ice cream to make my throat feel better. Do you peeps like pumpkin ice cream? The Culver's (frozen custard) shake is my favorite frozen pumpkin thing.

frodis said...

I get stromboli and zamboni mixed up.

kim (weltek) said...

Please don't eat the zamboni.

I've never eaten pumpkin ice cream. I did eat some chocolate and vanilla Blue Bell a little bit ago.

Pumpkins are good for decorations and for their smell.

I'm not a pumpkin-eating kind of person. Although I would try Breezy's pumpkin roll since it has cream cheese in it.

My good friend called me yesterday to tell me about her Pumpkin Spice Latte and how it contained bits of pumpkin. My response:

"So your coffee has pulp?"

Blucky.

Breezy said...

Boo, you're weird. *grin*

No I do not cut open the raviolis. I layer browned sausage mixed with sgetti sauce, thawed cheese ravioli and shredded mozz; to build my lasagna.

momma said...

That's not lasagne! That's ravioli casserole...or something. *wierd look*

I would still like to try some pumpkin roll.

And I agree with Momma that that's caserole.

*strolls into blog eating a bowl of cottage cheese stirred with a spoonful of raspberry jam*

Pumpkin pie ice cream sounds very strange to me, but then I like pumpkin pie and pumpkin roll and pumpkin cookies so maybe I could eat it.

Zombs said...

Oooh I tried pumpkin ice cream recently! I lked it but did not order it. I thought a full serving of it would be too much. Maybe a scoop of it and a scoop of vanilla would be good?

Breezy said...

pffffttt lasagna is a casserole too.

kim (weltek) said...

I could eat pumpkin ice cream every day.

dragonflies said...

Pumpkin ice cream does not sound good to me. But I would try it, just to make sure.

I'll be over at the zombie house tonight, for lasagna.

Pumpkin ice cream with chocolate ice cream is yummy.

Ricotta.

I normally use ricotta when I do stuffed manicotti, but I use cottage cheese when I make lasagna. (which isn't often because it takes so long! ) However, when I do, I put the cottage cheese thru a fine strainer, a metal mesh one. You scrape it and push it with a spoon... then its a fine cheese, and no one can really tell that it is cottage cheese! :-)

Me? feeling happy because I got the floor mopped today!
