Cheese fondue with carrots, bread cubes, broccoli and cauliflower.
Here is the work I accomplished this weekend (besides the normal meals, laundry, dishes):
1. Vacuumed asian beetles constantly
2. Cleaned the big shower
3. Took cat to vet
4. Moved old dresser to spare bedroom
Here are the fun things I did:
1. Corn Maze
2. Made donuts (I had a mix that was almost a year old, so I used that...meh)
3. Surfed the web for cruise excursions
4. Sat out in the sun and had beers with the neighbors
5. Read a lot of The Road
Here are the pure lazy things I did:
1. Watched a long Lifetime movie (never finished it) in bed yesterday
2. Took a bath (with a Karma bubble bar and Cerdwins bath melt)
3. Snuggled with cats...a lot.

Oh good - you're here! I was just coming to write a "What's OT?" post.
*sucks up some fondue*
The only corn maize I ever paid to go in was a complete bust because most of the time I could see over it. Not fun.
We used to make donuts when I was kid. I remember burning myself on the hot oil and how utterly delicious the fresh, hot donuts were!
We went to the pumpkin patch on Saturday. We did a hay maze. And we rode on a very dusty road for our hay ride, which meant we ate a lot of dust.
I was amazed at how many perfect pumpkins we found. And we had donuts from the pumpkin patch. Super yummy. And I only had 1, TYVM.
Wow. I want your weekend. I ran a bazillion errands, went on the great quest for the perfect costume materials, took the kids to their cousins' birthday party, went out to dinner and vegged. That was Saturday. We aren't even going to discuss Sunday. It was crazy busy.
*smoooooooooooooooooch*
See, momma, the life of a maid in our house is looking better and better, isn't it?
*hands Swami a straw*
*give Boo a tissue to blow out the hay dust*
Yes, yes it is.
*steals bread cubes and cheesy fondue*
That's too much activity stogged into one weekend.
Only one morning shuld be allocated to house chores. And laundry and dishes are included in there.
Fun outdoor stuff should never be scheduled for the same day as the chores.
And I expect you were in the standard uniform for movie-watching and cat-cuddling? Sweatpants/sweatshirt/fluffy socks?
Of course I was in uniform. Except while in bed I was pantsless.
Have you ever made "darn goods"? They are super yummy.
The only bad thing about nice warm fall days are the asian beetle bugs. They are every.where.
We went to our neighbor's house after getting home yesterday. He invited the neighborhood over for a pumpkin picking. They planted 3 seeds, and had vines growing everywhere. Probably about 20 good pumpkins. I think I'll plant some in my prairie next year.
What are "darn goods?"
Good idea for you planting pumpkins...you have the space, so why not!
Mmmm, I love, love, love cheese fondue.
I had a very nice weekend too. Movies with my DD's, grocery shopping, tennis, just enough yardwork not to look lazy, watched a lot of baseball, did some cooking.
Oooh, see, you reminded me I also did some yardwork. I trimmed some trees.
Fondue is one of my favorite foods. The one time I went to a corn maize, it was so hot outside!! Boo, our local pumpkin patch farm is on fire. Saw it on the news. Cat cuddling-what could be better?
*digs moat around puffy's house*
Poor Ali is still puking once/day. Vet gave her prednizone, as he thinks is an inflammatory bowel thing...but it doesn't seem to be working yet.
Darn goods are biscuits that are deep fried and then dipped in cinnamon and sugar. We made them at girl scout camp this summer. Yum. The idea was to make them from scratch, but we used the little rolls you can buy for cheap. I've since made them at home a few times as a treat.
DH can't have any, so more for me! Good thing he doesn't like those kinds of things.
Well, my weekend was jam packed but I accomplished pretty much nothing, so I'm impressed with your weekend work!
I *heart* broccoli and cheese. Best food combo evah! (ok, not really, but close)
I tend not to care how clean my asian beetles are and you vacuum yours. Wow.
dragonflies: I tried for 3 years to get pumpkins to grow in my back yard. Turns out you have to water them a LOT. Otherwise, you get 2 puny pumpkins and your neighbour makes fun of you for years, especially after squirrels eat all but one and that's the only one you can carve for Hallowe'en.
You should see it when we shower with a few asian beetles, Seana.
