Kenny rogers would want us to have some good ol fried mozzarella sticks, wouldn't he?
I did not realize "Coward of the County" was a song about a woman being raped by three men and her husband kicking their arases. It was a bit disturbing. One of our favorite local radio stations is playing songs each day from "The Worlds Worst iPod." The female dj goes "dumpster diving" on UW move-out days each year. She found this iPod while dumpster diving with our mayor. Bizzaro, but very funny. To view a list of the songs so far:

We are heading out to apply for passports in a few minutes. Are we the last people in the world to get passports? It's effing expensive. $92/pp now.
I made chicken & biscuits (chicken ala kingish) last night. I don't think I've ever made that before. It just sounded good for a chilly October night.
I'm slowly catching up at work, so hopefully I can play more.

*raises hand* I knew what the song was about.
mmmmm chicken and biscuits sounds good, I've been craving chicken and dumplings.
*raises hand* I knew that, too. But, I'm a country hick, so...*shrug*
We had pot roast and potatoes and carrots last night in the crockpot. Yum!
OMH. How wrong is it that I know and actually like some of those horrible songs from the Worst Ipod Ever??
Apparently it's comfort food time!
I blame momma's knowledge on being a Texan hick and Breezy's on being an old hick. :-)
Postal workers do NOT like to handle passport applications. She was nice in the end, but we got the big ol *SIGH* and look at her watch when we came in.
I'll be the Canadian hick, then, 'cause I also knew what the song was about.
I love "One Night in Bangkok"!
*indignant*
I thought that said "chicken a la kingfish" and I wondered if he was visiting the blogs now.
Would you hurry up and catch up at work a bit faster? I'm bored.
Momma, I know and like some of those songs, too.
I hope no one ever finds my iPod.
Oh, and like Seana, I read it "Chicken a la kingfish" too.
*conga*
I've never had Chicken a la King.
We had nachos for dinner last night. I was supposed to have broccoli. Maybe tonight.
We had steaks last night. Tonight we're having roasted pork tenderloin. I've never made chicken a la king, but my mom used to make it fairly often.
Sadly, my recollection of her dish doesn't make me want to recreate it.

Dan Fogelberg "Same Old Lang Syne"
What time zone are you in?
Central-same as you I think.
Yay mozzarella sticks!
I've never heard or even heard of that song, so I didn't know what it was about. *not a country girl*
I don't have a passport. I doubt I ever will. I don't much like traveling.
Last night I made myself a yummy smoothie (pineapple, strawberries, yogurt, skim milk and a splash of orange/pineapple juice) and some toast. And then for dessert I had a peanut butter Twix. Heh.
Look at you being all healthy with your smoothie! WTG!
That smoothie sounds yummy.
Kim, you really need to fix your blog time then. It keeps confusing me.
Let's see if this worked....
Nope. Where do I change the time setting? I looked under settings and profile and didn't see it.
Nevermind, found it.
They didn't stamp our passports when we went to Canada. I was bummed about that.
Even Canada didn't want to admit they let you visit.
LOL! I don't have a passport, either.
Haven't heard that song in a loooooooong time. Not sure if I knew what it was about at that time.
LOL at some of the songs.
Rico Suave *SNORT*
I always liked the song, "Billy, don't be a hero".
*raises hand* I too thought you had chicken a la kingfish LOL.
I think I'm on my 2nd (or 3rd) passport. Thank goodness cause the pic in the first one was horrifying LOL.
And, LMAO @ Kim. You're a funny funny girl!
I knew it too.
I used to love listening to quite a few of those songs.
*hums Billy don't be a Hero*
My first passport was shared with my sister. Then I got another one as an adult, and now I am my 3rd or 4th.
I was going to plan a trip to Toronto for a quick weekend getaway, but the kids don't have passports anymore, they expired. Guess I better do that soon. Sucks, cause both parents and the child all have to be there at the same time.
I've been obsessed with smoothies ever since they opened up a Smoothie King here a few months ago. But they're kind of expensive, so I tried to make my own. My first attempt (strawberry/banana) didn't work out so well because I used too much yogurt. The pineapple one was so much better. I think I'll have another one tonight! If only I could get up early enough in the morning, I would totally make one for breakfast.
Tell me about the passport expense. Meghan has one and in it her picture is of her at 5 months old. I'm wondering how that will play out if we go somewhere when she is 4.
I made Spanish chicken and chorizo in the slow cooker today. Mmmmm...and spanish rice I just made. Looking forward to dinner!
I *snorted* when I saw Lorne Green on there. It reminded me of some of the banter Monsty and Coco used to have on OT. Of course, I could be remembering all wrong. *grin*
I noticed that they had Bravie's favorite song on there, too - It's a Sunshine Day.
I, too, knew what "Coward of the County" was about.
What is wrong with: Dan Fogelberg "Same Old Lang Syne"
I love that song! It's the one on the list that stood out to me. I also like Billy Don't Be a Hero.
Okay. I'll be the one to say it.
Coming to this blog and seeing a post titled Kenny Rogers & such is just wrong. I can't put my finger on WHY, but it just is.
*snort* Don't worry, it's been bothersome to me, also.
Whew. I was quite worried you'd take away my nachos for that one.
I knew what the song was about.
I can't pull up the list. I'm curious to see it.
I like that song too, MTW. A lot.
I want chicken and dumplings.
I'm glad I have company on Another Auld Lang Syne.
That song evokes emotion in me, but not pleasant ones. It leaves me feeling sad and sick to my stomach. Yet, I love it.
