Warm brie and baguette slices today.

First, we've booked a vacation and I couldn't be more pleased!

Flight from Madison to New Orleans: $75 total (used airline miles, but had to transfer a few for a fee)
2 nights hotel in NewOrleans hotels: $130 total

Woooooohoooo! All got booked last night. I'm very excited!

Now, for misc. pictures! I'm too lazy to organize them meaningfully.

Cute socks!
I made chili last week. I should have entered the cook-off. But I don't like spicy. I'm very wimpy when it comes to spicy.

I am very gellus. I want to go on a cruise! Waaaaa!

Buddy sleeps on our tuner box or the DVR box. Must be the heat.

Our neighbors are having their annual chili dump this weekend. We have a wedding to go to, so we'll pass. Plus I don't think Don would be safe eating it anyway, gluten-wise.

Love the socks.

Hehehe! Can I go on the cruise?

Cute socks!

What are the boys drinking? And who's blue Dodge?

Bartleby looks very comfy!

I love the furniture!! And yes, I still agree that the room needs to be re painted.

Chili always looks nasty, but tastes soooo good.

Pretty view!

Cute socks! I love fun socks!

Hooray for vacation! That sounds wonderful. That's just the right amount of time to spend in New Orleans, in my opinion. My brother just went yesterday and I haven't talked to him yet for an update on how things are down there. I know that the French Quarter was largely unscathed so if you stick around there it should be fine. The Superdome area was devastated. There's a hotel there (a Hyatt) where I stayed a few months before the hurricane - one whole side of it was destroyed and as far as I know it remains untouched at this time. Ick.

In New Orleans, there's a restaurant called the Crescent City Brewhouse that you should visit. Delicious, and the origin of Mr. Fro's favorite meal ever, lovingly referred to as "meat stuffed with meat." It was a pork chop stuffed with asiago, crab, and some kind of sausage.

I made turkey chili on Sunday. It was yummy.

I love the fun socks and the view from your room in S.F. Congrats on the chili!

Here's a suggestion for your cruise: When you're in New Orleans, go to the market and buy some of your own "beverages" to bring onto the ship. Either pack them well in the middle of your big suitcases because they'll take them from you at the pier to bring to your room. Or else, pack them snugly in a big carry-on bag that you bring onto the ship yourself.

Cute feet! :D

I love the furniture, thanks for posting pics so fast!

I'm si excited for you about the cruise! I hope you love it. I've been to Cozumel, there is a cool bar there called Carlos & Charlie's. Wild stuff in there! And they let me in even though I was only 17, lol!
Seems like you got a great price too.

That should have been "so", not "si", *giggle*!

The cruise sounds like much fun!

Does your chili have beans in it? I thought beans in cook-off chili was a no-no.

Come back to SF, please. *grin*
Great pics. I love them all.

Breezy said...

If it doesn't have beans in it, then how is it chili? *head tilt* You californian peeps are weird.

Beans were made for chili, IMHO.

Momma-it's the farm owners truck. The guy that owns the farm is a former classmate of mine and brother of our good friend, Mark. There was a baby cow there (calf, for you particular people)! It was redish and so, so cute!

Beans are chili.

Beans and meat are chili con carne.

Geesh!

Wow, 7-day cruise + 2 days in NO? Awesome!! We looked at those cruises but 7 days is too long for our first cruise. When are you going? *wonders if I should secretly book Mr. Nookie and I on the same cruise*

Ooooooooh, pictures!

Cute socks *giggles*

I think it's so neat that I know peeps that have chili cook offs LOL. And a 3rd place winner! WOOHOO!

Awwwwww Bartleby looks so cute. How are your fur-babies doing these days?

Love the furniture and your curtains. I love armoirs. I need to put curtains in my bedroom. All I have are faux-plantation blinds.

I recognize that view of SF. Wish I were back there *pout*

Yes, Nookie, I think you should take the same cruise. :-) Seven days wouldn't be too long if you got to spend time with us. *giggle* Or maybe it would.

Ali is not healthy right now. She's puking a lot--related to the constipation thing.

What are plantation blinds? We don't know about these things in WI.

Lucky you! I want to go on a cruise. But I get seasick.

Let me also say that the socks are cute. I like theme socks.

You've won awards for chili before. One day, I'd like to try yours. I like the spicy stuff, myself. *waves to Glow*

Look-it's seana! *runs to see if she's updated*

*follows Kim*

Has anyone seen Kim? She took a right turn at Bravie's and never made it to Seana's. I think I lost her. Or she lost me.
