Monday, Monday

Taco dip with lots of cheese today. Dig in.

I have a stupid task to get done this morning. Two people worked on the same version of a 50 page document this weekend, so now I have to merge the two. *grumble* My student isn't in today, so I can't push it off on her. *grumble*

We worked our arases off this weekend. Chris cleaned the carpets (we bought a steam cleaner), chopped wood, mowed the lawn, went on a plane ride and made homemade rootbeer for his non-drinkers in his leadership class. I cleaned the house, we both made food for a party at our house Saturday night, dealt with some paperwork, did about three hours of yardwork, and finished a book so I could start the OTBC reading.

Most importantly, we watched the Badgers and Packers win! Yayyyyy for Brett Favre and another record broken! It was a bonus for it to happen at the dome in Minnesota.

I'm exhausted and feeling a bit off kilter. Oh, and a storm blew through and cut out the satellite in the last ten minutes of Rock of Love. What happened at the end?????

Mmmm, I love taco dip.

Hey, sounds like a super busy but fun weekend!

I don't watch Rock of Love, so I can't help you. Those storms rolled through around 11pm by us. Lots of lightning, thunder and downpours. I'm glad, cause I forgot to water my new trees yesterday.

Our lawnmower is dead. *sigh*

Can't help you there. I don't watch Rock of Love.

Weren't YOU supposed to be the one cleaning the carpets? WTG getting Chris to do it! *grin*

I ran a 5k on Saturday. Okay, so I walked about a mile of it. Michael went to Baltimore, so I had about 9 hours alone with Conner to just hang out. We had fun, even watching the parts I missed of The Biggest Loser from last Tuesday. He was rooting for The Yellow Team. *giggle*

Yesterday I did laundry and washed all of his old yard toys that I'm going to try to sell this weekend in a yard sale. That should be interesting. I wonder if he will go nuts when he sees them being carted away.

I saw only a little football. The Skins were not playing. But I saw Brett break the record, and I agree it was awesome to have it done there.

I also spent most of yesterday working on a certain project that I was in no way ready for, but it's done. And hopefully it's perfect. I had to change my letter because I couldn't attach the references. *grrrr* I had nightmares last night about that.

Bonus points to you for the use of arases. I noticed. *smooch*

I haven't watched Rock of Love, ever, so I'm no help either.

Yay for you and Chris!!! Sounds like he accomplished most of everything he told me he was going to do, and threw in a few bonus extras. *grin*

Why was I not told about the party????

Rock of Love - about five minutes from the end, the producer ended the broadcast and delivered a personal message saying they were canceling the show. They blamed the network had shackled them and they were no longer able to film the show they had envisioned. Then they thanked their audience (by name - including you and Chris) and said to look out for them elsewhere in the future.

I thought about you every time I walked on my carpets this weekend!

*giggle* Wow, nice we got a shout out on VH-1.

Just so you know, there are at least FIVE other people watching this show.

And could someone just shoot me now? That document I combined this morning and moaned to each of the simultaneous editors about? I sent it to ONE of the people to continue their editing on, to avoid having to combine changes again. I just got this email:

I will not look at the latest version you sent – will just keep plowing ahead. I’m not sure if that’s the best way to do this – but from what I saw at a quick glance at the latest version, nothing’s been done to the section I’m working on no, so it won’t be redundant work.

I never heard of Rock of Love. Can you tell a difference in your carpets? I have two young men in my house right now, cleaning my grout. (not code)

Kim,

Bret was having a hard time deciding and chose to give the girls one last test. He asked if there was anyway they would both agree to be his girlfriends. Heather said yes, Jess said no, she couldn't share someone like that. "If you're mine, you're mine." He calls Heather down first, tells her what kind of girl he was looking for, how good a friend she has been, but she's just not that girl. She gets pissed and walks out immediately. She gets in the car/limo to leave, and calls Bret all kind of names and said he took advantage of her. She's also pissed that she has "that asshole's name" on the back of her neck. He told Jess that he picked her because she was there for him when he had a bad time with his diabetes on that last date.

I'm very curious about your grout cleaning. You'll have to give us a report.

Yes, it made a HUGE difference in our carpets. We had about four 3'x3' areas that were very heavily soiled from foot traffic. I'd tried cleaning them with the Bissell hand cleaner and also with my sister's $1000 Kirby last year. No luck. Now? You can barely see them. I want to do those spots again to see if it completely clears them.

We literally used boiling water in the tank of the cleaner. I have to think that helped.

Thank you, Arkie!!!!

So, you ended up buying a carpet machine? Which one? The Hoover?

kim (weltek) said...

Yep, a Hoover. Turbopowered Steam Vac with Clean Surge (5200 model) It was about $160. Not the only I most wanted, but for the price, it was a pretty well-reviewed product.

mtw said...

If it had JUST been turbocharged or JUST had Clean Surge, you might have been able to go with something else. But with BOTH? You had no choice!

$160 sounds pretty cheap, too.

kim (weltek) said...

I think you are making fun of me. *pout*

mtw said...

LOL. No, not making fun of YOU. Making fun of product marketing and making fun of my own feelings that mine would have done a better job on my carpets if only it had been turbocharged or had Clean Surge. How can I possibly live with a Steam Vac that doesn't have Clean Surge???

Boo-my arases are always just for you. *smooch*

Momma-see? you did even better than you thought! *smooch*

Will Brett Favre go away now? Like at the end of THIS season? Maybe? *crosses fingers*

*runs*

Glowie is BANNNED. BANNED I SAY!

Kimmerrrrrrrrrrrr, I ate some cheese and I liked it. *grin* Lightsy had some weird kind for the raclette.

*gasp* I think Glow needs to be banned for sure.

I'm so very, very, very happy that cheese was an important part of the trip!
