Someone else has to bring cheese today.
SUCKY MORNING
My day is sucking. It's true what they say: No good deed goes unpunished. Nothing major, I was just trying to be a good sister & get food to my divorced sister. The whole thing has gone haywire from the start. And it didn't get any better this morning. Sometimes the simplest tasks can go so wrong.
Sorry, just had to get that off my chest.
SHOWER QUESTION
So anyway, I'm having soap issues. My shower gels are about gone. I can't decide if I want to buy more shower gel or some nice soap.
I like the smells & ease of shower gel storage (not soap buildup or slippery bars), but I also really enjoy the clean smell of bars of soap & sqeaky clean feeling I get.
Which do you use? Do you have any soap vs. shower gel feelings to share?

I use shower gel. I have both an antibacterial gel soap and then the purty scented gels from Bath and Body works. I don't think I could ever use bar soap again. I just don't like it.
*brings cheddar and crackers*
What happened? :(
I use both. I do know what you mean about the squeaky clean feeling from bar soap. I'm thinking of switching back. Before you dress Caress.
*brings in a try of Jarlsberg cheese*
*HUGS*
I LOVE Caress soap. I love the scent of it.
However, I use shower gels now from Bath & Body Works. I still use a bar of soap to wash my face. Most of the time it's Ivory soap but lately I've used the Bath & Body Works soaps.
I don't like using a bar of soap in the shower.
*hugs* *sprays canned cheese everywhere*
I hate shower gel. I don't feel clean when I use it, so I stick to bar soap. A couple months ago I went to a Bath and Body works outlet and they had some of their popular scents in bar soap for $1 or something like that. I was estatic!
I use shower gel and soft soap. The bar soap gets stuck in my rings if I'm wearing them. Less mess with the liquid soaps, too.
*grazes on what other people are bringing*
I always use bar soap. I feel cleaner. I find them more gentle.
Carey, quit washing your whole body with antibacterial soap - you will destroy the good bacteria on your skin leaving room for bad, anticeptic-resistant bacteria to move in. Kind of like the way vagrants move into vacant houses, trash them & crap in the corners.
Soap? Water isn't enough?
I feel like I know you all on a much more personal level, now. :-)
Thanks to Glowie & Nookie for the cheese. *Evil eye* to Jen for making a mess in my blog.
I have not crapped in a corner in years. Hrmph.
I just use the antibacterial on my face in the shower.
Sorry about your sister.
I use Dove shower gel. I too like soap, and I think I have a bar of some Olay as a backup, but I just prefer gels. And now I'm using some sort of firming variety.
I think bars are good for traveling. You can use a bar with the washcloth. Gels don't work as well, so you have to have the loofah. Unless you want to use half of your gel just trying to work up a lather.
BTW: I thought of you this weekend. We had a fancy dinner on Saturday. I ordered a cheese platter for my appetizer. I was a little nervous at first. I thought it might be too much, and I wouldn't be able to stop myself. If was a gorgonzola chunk in some sort of beer sauce with raspberries. Then there was a brie with berries. And then another that was like a cream cheese all rolled up with some sort of nuts.
Divine!
Sorry 'bout that, Kim. I got my cans of silly string and spray cheese mixed up.
Boo- I thought using a washcloth with the bar soap was a given. Do people just use the bar directly on their skin?
I love my shower gels - from Avon and the Caress off brand I have. Of course, if I'm feeling extra ookie, I use DH's Lever 2000.
I use bar soap for lathering before shaving, and shower gel for general cleaning. I like the VS Vanilla Lace body gel.
*smooches* for you, and *scowl* at your sister!
I think so Jen. I know that dh does.
Finally. A human interest blog entry. Soap gels remind me of cheap rest room soaps-- you know the ones that come out of the dispenser? Ick.
Another human interst story? *sniff* The pom-pom feel off of my favorite tennis sock. Now what?
Oh and All Stah left a message for you on my blog.
I use the bar of soap right on my body, then scrub with a nylon fluffy thing until I'm covered in about an inch of thick white foam. I like lather. The lather from a bar of soap wrapped in a washcloth is too foamy.
*shares Jarlsberg and avocado sandwich*
I have shower gel, but I usually just use Ivory everywhere, sans washcloth.
*whacks Monsty and Swami*
