Flannel Sheets

Boursault on french bread slices for our Friday feast.

I bought flannel sheets today for the spare bedroom. Now, if I must leave for Chris's snoring, I will have a toasty bed to climb into. Sigh. We came home & the house was 57 degrees yesterday. We caved and turned on the heat for the first time this season. At least I'm not in New York where they got a ton of snow.

I was grumbling about the yuppies at Target today (while I was buying the bargain $30 Woolrich flannel sheets) and then went & grabbed a cup of coffee at the Starbucks inside (actually, a pumpkin spice latte, skim no whip). If you can't beat em, join em.

I've never tried flannel sheets. Do they get those little "pills" or bumps on them after using them a few times or washing them a few times?

I hate flannel sheets. Also knitted sheets. I like to get into a cold bad, lol.

Or even a cold bed.

Ok when you say New York please distinguish between us southern NY people and those hoseheads that live in WEstern NY!

Zombs said...

Sorry Seana! You are not a hosehead(she is the Canadian side of WEstern NY)

I love the flannel sheets and the jersey sheets but Michelle doesn't like them because she thinks they are too hot. *pout*

Puffy-it depends on the brands I've found. My Woolrich ones don't seem to get pilly, but my sister has ones that do.

Swami-Do you realize you live in MN? It's cold there.

Zombie-Hoseheads. *snort*

Carey-Send Michelle to sleep with Swami. I'll come sleep with you & bring my new sheets.

Loooooooooove flannel. We never have anything else, even in summer. I do not like regular cotton sheets.

I scope out Winners for the good-quality seconds. I have managed to buy two sets there and they are the best. Once I bought a cheap set at Wal-mart and I never will again.. they were so coarse and pilly after one washing that I use them as dust covers now.

oooh. Flannel sheets are cozy.

I am tired, Kim.

Yay!!! *hops up and down*

LOL @ zombie, the hoser, eh?

I love flannel sheets. You can sleep naked in the winter when you've got those.

Despite getting a few flakes today and yesterday, we didn't get the snow that I hear fell on Buffalo, which is maybe an hour's drive from here. Maybe more. No more than 2, certainly. Gosh. I forget. It's been so long since I was there.

About 45 minutes from Niagara Falls, Seana, so probably an hour or so from you.

A weck sounds good right now. Could you run down to Buffalo & send me one? Thanks!

I thought coco said she likes to scout out Weiners.

I also love flannel sheets. The only ones I have are for the twin beds in the boys' room. I really should get some for my own.

I had some flannel sheets when I was a kid. They had cats on them. I luffed them. :)

I just bought a set of sheets from Target. They are crap quality, but they were cheap and the shade of purple that I have been looking for. Score!

*suspiciously eyes up Jen* Heeeey, were you one of the yuppies yapping on their phone, buying dishes, clothes, candles and everything else under the sun at Target this morning?

*gasp*

Your Target has a Starbucks?

*gellus*

I *heart* my flannel sheets! Hea.ven!

This morning? No. Last week? Could've been. *grin*

Jen <3 Target

Bravie said...

My Target has a Starbucks and a Pizza Hut. And? it is a two story Target. It even has an escalator just for your cart that runs parallel to the people escalator. *grin*

We just bought new sheets. He insists on some insanely high thread count. Sunday night I leaked a little. He didn't want to wash the new sheets yet. I made him. Now they are wrinkled and he is not as happy with them.

They are gold!

A two story Target? Yuppies must love that! (Our just has the Starbucks & snack stand in it, no restaurants anymore).

I've never had flannel sheets. I have a great flannel jammie though.

So did you get all pissy yesterday? We got measurable white stuff. .1 inch.

I'd love to see a 2 story Target, with a Starbucks! I might never go home.

Breezy said...

*thud* I want to see that Target!

Schnookie said...

OMH Carey. Now we know what is going to be a MUST SEE on our visit. Two-story Target ... HERE WE COME!

My Target has a pathetic little diner with weenies and pretzels. I have never eaten there.

If they did have a Starbucks, I most definitely could spend the whole day there.

Kim, I sleep naked on cold cotton sheets. Love it!

LOL, the biggest SF tourist stop for this group: Target. We want pictures.

DF-I did get pissy. I had to load bricks into the truck in some crazy snow & wind storm.

You picked up the can of coffee to throw at the yuppies, right?

I love flannel sheets in the winter! So cozy! Of course, it would be cozier if there was another person in the bed, but since there isn't, I think I'll have to get some flannel sheets.

I had to cave in and turn my heat on yesterday, too. I was on the computer and noticed that my fingers were getting really cold. It was 60 degrees downstairs, and 50 degrees upstairs (the windows were still open upstairs).

There are 2 Targets here - both have a Pizza Hut express. The newer one has a Starbucks, but no 2nd story.

Speaking of cold, I love working in my lab but the hall is lined with freezers. I want to bring in my blankie, but I think they'd look at me funny.

Bravie said...

Well ya'll make it very easy on me to do sightseeing trips. Especially since it's just a hop and a skip from my house. But we'll drive. I'm too hold to hop and skip too far.
When they first put in the cart escalator, we just sort of stood there and watched it because we thought it was so cool. LOL.
I will make sure that all of my visitors are taken to the two story Target.
