I bought some Laughing Cow light wedges at Sam's this week. They were cheap. So chow down, blog friends.
Tell me your fitness routine. Cardio? Weight training? Fitness videos? Yoga? A daily walk to the mailbox? Getting the chips from the cupboard before Survivor? Honesty is the best policy.
Now that I've committed at least to my treadmill (I bought it in June & have been using it faithfully since), I need to get a better routine down. I'm inconsistent in the amount of time I spend on it and the supplementary exercises.

We're supposed to have a fitness routine?
Heh, did you know they recommend you take 10K steps/day to maintain health? *frowny face* I figure if I'm not working out, it's more like 3K for me. How sad is that? Maybe I need a dog or a child to help my numbers.
I walk from my chair to the kitchen and then all the way back.
I type pretty quickly so I guess I am getting exercise while typing.
I chase my demons. I wonder how many calories that burns.
And, about four times a day I walk from my desk to the kitchen to pour myself a cup of coffee.
Throwing 5 lb. cans of coffee must also count for something.
Ohhh, you are right. I forgot about that.
I have not done much of anything since returning from vacation and walking right into Chaos Time.
Here is my plan that I will get back into in the next few weeks:
After the time change, it will be light again at 5:30 a.m. So I will try to start my day with a walk and hopefully build up to a run.
At lunch three days during the week, I am going to go over to the gym (it's a mile from work) to do my weights. Depending on how consistent I am with this will help me decide whether to renew my membership in February.
I am also going to shoot for a half hour on the eliptical if I can get home by 5:30 in the evenings.
On the weekends, I will do an hour of the eliptical.
In addition, I will do squats and crunches on most days - like while I'm watching TV or right after my eliptical workout.
Like I said, it's a plan.
I play tennis and hockey every week, so I get some exercise there. I walk a lot and always take the stairs at work.
I used to run and plan to start up again very soon. Also, I need to start lifting weights again. Soon. I promise.
I am a blobby lazy slacker. I do, however, walk from my car to my office and from my office to the car. It's a bit of a trek and most people take a shuttle. I walk my dogs too. But 10k? I highly doubt. I have steps in my house too. so that's something. Right?
I love muscles. I love me with muscles. You'd think I wouldn't be such an idiot about fitness. I do have great legs though. IIDSSM
My routine has really slacked off with getting ready to move and house projects. But I've already got a spot picked out for the elliptical in the new house, and have a plan to get back on track.
I walk alot around the campus, going here and there, but I know it's not even remotely close to what I want or need.
And Glow, IIRC, you do have great legs :-)
I dust my exercise bike. Sometimes I condition the leather seat too!
I meander aimlessly.
I juggle remote controls.
What do IIDSSM and IIRC mean?
If I Do Say So Myself and If I Recall Correctly.
MTW <-- helpful since 2002
Meemo <-- confusing peeps since 1979
Glowie has a very fine ass I might add. :-)
Stress must be a work out right? I'm working my heart muscles.
Feeding 6 cats who have different dietary requirements is also a workout. I'm doing alot of squats.
I love walking but don't get much of a chance. It's too damn hot here and the suburbs of Atlanta have got to be the MOST unfriendly to pedestrians. There are no sidewalks and no parks.
We could walk the dog around the block but we don't because we don't want neighbors yelling at us when he pees on their lawns LOL.
I suppose I could walk on the treadmill but that's so boring. I may get back into it when we move.
Our new neighbors let their dogs freely poop and pee while they all walk across our yard. Mind you, we haven't even met them yet. We just saw them walking across our yard last night with the dogs, peeing and pooping away.
I'd be furious Kim.
We always pick up Nick's poop. Always. I can't help about the pee. We try to only let him pee on the lawns that belong to people who have dogs themselves LOL. Or on the lawns of neighbors we don't like *smirk*
There are a few dogs in the neighborhood that are allowed to run loose and poop wherever they want. Makes me furious!
When that happens to me, I scoop it up, put it on a paper plate and return it to the rightful owner with a note letting them know that they left something behind.
I caught a lady letting her dog crap in my front area once. I peaked outside and told her to pick it up. She did and has not been back around my house again.
A Winchester rifle tends to work like that. :)
OOooh, I likey the paper plate idea.
Thankfully, they don't seem to poop on my lawn LOL.
If I ever saw a dog pooping on my lawn, I wouldn't hesitate to say something to the owner.
Hm. When I'm bored at work, I make a trip upstairs to go to the bathroom. That's usually a couple times a day.
I make a lot of trips to the kitchen on nights when I'm drinking. And if I get really drunk, I dance around my bedroom. Dancing is good exercise, right?
I look at my exercise bike and think how I should use it, but that's as far as it goes.
I should take the stairs up to my apartment, but I'm usually carrying a bunch of stuff and I don't wanna. Plus I can barely breath by the time I'm done. (5 flights up.)
Basically, I am a slug. :)
I used to go to the gym every day, alternating between upper body and lower body workouts, but I've discovered that I am more efficient if I go every second day but do both workouts at the same time.
I have seven machines that I use for upper body and five machines for lower body each time I visit. On each machine, I start with X number of pounds for 12 reps, then X+5 for 10 reps, then X+10 for 8 reps, then X+15 for 6 reps, and finish with X+10 for 12 reps. That way I start off with something easy and finish with something challenging.
I also do ten minutes of cardio, either on the elliptical or the rowing machine, every day whether I am working with the weights or not.
Of course, this is since I decided to try to add muscle instead of losing weight. When I was focusing on losing wieght exclusively, I spent 70 minutes on the elliptical trainer every day.
I burn a ton of calories just by being pregnant!
However once I am done incubating I will have to find something. Problem is it will be turning cold and I will try to walk with the kids as mucha s possible but I don't see how.
ALthough just hanging out wiht them helps. We had to put our treadmill out of the den to help sell the house so wehn we move I guess I will be back on!
I was bored, so I went upstairs. But this time, I ran. Yay me! *snort*
Gym 2-3 times week (Ok, 2 times to be honest)
1/2 hour weight
1/2 hours cardio with Jon Stewert
I also walk 40 minutes each day to go to the subway and then into work (though this number will drop when the weather gets miserable and I got to the closer subway stop)
I walk home from work (about an hour) once or twice a week depending on weather.
I still have nothing resembling abs.
I'm pretty much on the same routine as Momma, Carey, Glowie, Swami & Jen! ...but I do all of those things in combination.
*grin*
I hate your not coming to Tx. *whines*
Thanks for making me laugh you guys!
HD and Bob also get ambition awards.
