Pile Inventory

Broccoli cheese soup in bread bowls today. I think Carey will love me for that.

Next person to see Glowie, smell her purse. Does it smell like cheese?

On to your piles. Inspired by MM's closet inventory, I'm asking you to tell me about your piles.
1. How many piles are on your:
Desk?
Kitchen Counter?
Kitchen Table?
Next to your bed?
2. Is your clean or dirty laundry in piles?
3. Do you have piles of magazines? What are those magazines & what are you planning to do with them?
4. What other dominant piles are in your house?

Mmmmmmmm, broccoli cheese soup in a bread bowl. The best part is the bread after all of the soup is gone. *gobbles up soup and bread*
You're the bestest ever. *smooch*

1. How many piles on my desk: currently 5
Kitchen counter: zero, Michelle wouldn't have it.
Kitchen table: N/A we don't have a kitchen table, we have a pinball machine instead. Currently one pile of mail on it
Next to my bed? zero, Michelle wouldn't have it.
Dirty laundry is in the hamper
Clean laundry is currently in a pile in my closet.
My magazines consist of: TV guide, Rolling Stone and US magazine. Michelle takes most of them to work. The TV Guide sits next to her in the living room until the end of the week. then they get tossed.
No other dominant piles in the house. Michelle wouldn't have it. *grin*

I really hope you're not talking about piles as in "hemorrhoids" (though I suspect that is what Zombs is talking about). I am answering these questions as in "a quantity of objects stacked or thrown together in a heap." *grin*

1. 5 piles (of paper) on my desk
None on my kitchen counter
None on my kitchen table (I don't have one)
None next to my bed
2. Dirty laundry is in the laundry bag. Clean laundry is put away. :)
3. No magazines.
4. I have a pile of papers/mail on the side table with my phone and keys that I don't have anywhere else to put. I usually have a pile of bills that I have paid hanging somewhere around the computer. My house is pretty pile free right now because I cleaned really good a few weeks ago and I've been trying to keep it tidy. Go me. :)

OOh, I forgot to mention I'm going to my new favorite lunch place today. It's called Flat Top Grill. I've probably blogged about it before. *slurp*

Kim- In case you don't see it on my blog, I offered to burn the Tool cd for you, if you'd like.

I love brocolli cheese soup MMMM!

1. There are currently 4 piles of paperwork on my desk. This doesn't include my in basket. There are no piles on the kitchen counter, table, or table by the bed. There is however a pile of my stuff on the baker's rack in the kitchen.

2. All dirty laundry is in the hamper. Clean laundry is usually folded right away. However, I've been lazy/busy so it's sitting in a pile in the laundry basket in my closet.

3. There are a pile of magazines on the coffee table. People and assorted charitable magazines and one health magazine.

4. The only other pile of stuff in my house would be my scrapbooking stuff in my scrapbooking room in the basement. And, I may go home to yet another pile of puke on the carpets.

You are all way too neat.

Ooops, I wanted to add mine in that last comment.

1. How many piles are on your:
Desk? 6...it's awful.

Kitchen Counter? 1 messy pile of mostly Chris's stuff (including a few tools that he refuses to move back to their proper place).

Kitchen Table? 2...mostly mail stuff
Next to your bed? 1 of reading material

2. Is your clean or dirty laundry in piles?
Generally no, although I have a pile of workout clothes and work outside clothes that can be reworn a few more times before washing.

3. Do you have piles of magazines? What are those magazines & what are you planning to do with them?
Yes, mostly Time, Reader's Digest, Marie Claire, Chris's flying magazines. I need to recycle most of them.

4. What other dominant piles are in your house?
Pile of Tastefully Simple stuff that needs to be gone through and tossed.

Pile of books in my "to read pile."

1. I have a working office at home, so 2 work-relted piles and 1 small personal pile (Tom's & my stuff mixed).

Kitchen counter has one pile (Tom's) which is a perma-pile. I keep it limited to what he can pile onto the tray I have designated as his pile zone.

Kitchen table gets the daily mail piled onto it. Sometimes stuff atays in that pile for an extra day or two but I really try to avid that because it can turn into a monster so fast!

Tom has a pile on his side of the bed. I sometimes have a small pile of washed clothes there (on nearby settee) but not this week.

2. Dirty is piled. Clean is usually put away pretty quick.

3.Small pile in family room. Newsweek, EW, current catalogs that I may order from. New newsweek triggers throwing out the old. If pile gets 2 or 3 inches deep I start throwing away older catalogs.

4. When the DD and her BF are here they generate a pile of stuff in each room they use - on the kitchen table, the family room coffee table & sofa, and the conference table in the office (where my DD sets up her laptop.)

I hate piles!

1. How many piles are on your:
Desk?

At the moment, about 6.

Kitchen Counter?

Unfortunately 2. I hate piles on the counter. I hate, hate, hate them. I loathe them. It is my island, and it plucks my ever lasting nerve to have piles of crap on the counter.

Kitchen Table?

Another 2. Obviously this is a sore subject with me. My husband drives me freaking nuts. He tosses his mail all over the island and the table. I neatly stack it. The next day he piles more on. I bought the man a basket to put all of his mail in, but he filled that up and went back to the piles. Hopefully after the Bay house sells next week, some of it will go away.

Next to your bed?

None. :)

2. Is your clean or dirty laundry in piles?

No. Dirty laundry is in one of three baskets. We have one in our room, one in Conner's room, and one in the utility room. The only time the dirty clothes are in a pile is when I'm sorting them to wash.

Clean clothes usually folded and piled in the basket for transport upstairs to be put away. I sometimes have them piled on the bed as I sort. And it sometimes takes me a day or two to put away if we are busy playing outside etc.

3. Do you have piles of magazines? What are those magazines & what are you planning to do with them?

Yes. I throw all of my magazines away when I am done. But we have piles of Playboy, piles of Newsweek, and piles of Golf. I usually let them sit until I can't stand it anymore and throw the Golf and Newsweeks away. We keep the Playboys.

4. What other dominant piles are in your house?

I don't think it's possible to have any others. I think I also need a Michelle.

Oooooh, I hate the tool pile. Hate it. I get so irritated that I just take them to the garage and leave them in the middle of the floor.

My husband used to be such a neat freak.

I forgot. I do have piles of cheese in the cheese drawer. There are bags of shredded. Babybels. I bought those because of you. I like the red ones best. Cracker Barrel Cheesesticks, Deli Deluxe slices, American slices, Swiss slices and mozzarella sticks for Conner.

If there is anyone who loves cheese as much as you, it's probably me.

kim (weltek) said...

*smacks forehead* How could I forget the cheese piles?

My cheese drawer has an temperature control for either cheese or meat. Of course, there's no meat so I turn it to cheeeeeeeeese!

My boss admitted today that she's never had deep fried cheesecurds. As you may have guessed, she's not from around here. Of course, I then had to tell her about the crazy Canadians & their poutine.

You have a temperature control for cheese or meat? Cool.

I never could figure out fridges. The bottom drawer in my fridge says something that doesn't make sense to me (I'll have to look tonight and report back tomorrow).

Piles? You want me to count piles? Um... Afraid I'll have to get back to you. I need to move some piles to make room for the piles as I count them.

(And, as the seasons are starting to change, the clothes piles are getting worse. :-()

Oooh... Just saw your comment about tools being in the "correct place".

I finally got fed up not being able to find tools where they were supposed to be. (Of course, even if dh is working on something, it's up to me to find the tools he needs.)

I bought a red toolbox (to make it distinct from all of the other toolboxes I've bought, declared it off-limits, and gathered up all of MY tools (which were scattered all over the place, and comprise almost anything you'd need in most cases) and now both DH & DN are scared to death to touch it.

HIS tools can live wherever he likes. At least now when he demands a Phillips screwdriver (or I need one) I know where one is.

(I'm not anal about neatness with much, but after being in the plant I'm obsessive about my tools. Had to be, or they'd be stolen. :-))

I didn't even attempt to count my piles, but I would love some soup in a bread bowl. Damnit.

Might have to head to Panera tomorrow. :)
