Peep Meet

Caprino goat cheese today. Never had it, but it sounds delicious. Not much in the food & beverage category Italians do wrong.

I'm excited & sad at the same time about the peep meet in Niagara Falls. I thought (ok, hoped) we'd get a big turnout, but as time goes by numbers have dropped. I'm not at all angry about it, just sad that I won't get to meet as many as I'd thought. Understandable that the timing is bad for some, gas prices & flight prices are high right now, room rates aren't exactly cheap and the mood on OT has been tense lately.

I'm still very excited at meeting all that will be there. So far, I think it's us, the Le Pew's, Meemo, Seana, Maroonclown, Byoffer, Catt, Mysticwolf, and Frisky. Hmmm, maybe it's good that I get to keep this group all to myself! Muwhahahahahaha! *hops*

P.S. Did I mention I get to stop at Breezy's on the way? *double hop*

I am extremely disappointed that I won't be able to make the peep meet in Niagara Falls. It's just too expensive. I know you'll have a fantastic time. Make sure everyone takes lots of pics.

*sniffle*

Nookie <--- very sad she has to wait even longer to meet her twin

Cool that you get to stop at Breezy's. I'm sorry the turnout wasn't as big as expected though.

There may be quite a few others to add to that list, so don't be too disheartened Kim. And there may be a couple of surprises.....mwuhahahahaha.

And yes, we will have uber fun. I promise you that :-)

I know you'll all have a blast though!

Aww, it will be so much fun and more personal with fewer peeps there.

MM <--trying to see the bright side

Wish I could go, too!

There's never a bad peep meet.

So which night will you be here? *hops around*

You are so right, puffy. It won't be bad, it just means there's fewer people to bail me out of jail.

Breezy, Thursday night! WE probably won't take the ferry...I need to do some calculations. It appears it will cost at least $175 for us & the vehicle. Doh! That is at least three tanks of gas in the truck, six in the Neon!

Holy carp.
Lake Express Ferry vs. driving

LE= $198, 6 hours combined driving & sailing time. 122 mi. on vehicle

Driving=$37 (high estimate for gas), 6.5 hours driving time, 370 miles on vehicle.

So is it worth the $161 to have a slightly more relaxed trip and save 248 miles on the vehicle? I say no. I think Chris will agree.

I can't go either. Bad time of year.

I still need to make some arrangments with Augie and HD for July because I will be in DC.

Also, there is talk around the homestead of visiting a ballpark or two this summer. I have looked into some flights, and they really aren't that bad. I just now need to talk myself into flying again.

POMODORINI GRATINATI CON CAPRINO E OLIVE or OVEN BAKED CHERRY TOMATOES WITH GOAT’S CHEESE AND OLIVES
1 serving

6 cherry tomatoes
50 gr creamy goat’s cheese
6 chopped black olives
Olive oil, I used rosemary scented oil.

- Cut the tomatoes in halves and put them in a oven-proof pan.
- Mix the goat's cheese and the olives.
- Top each tomato with the cheese mix and bake them in a pre-heated oven (175° centigrades) for about 20 minutes.
- Pour some olive oil over them before serving.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

PS Ask Breezy to wear her chaps when she meets you.

Sounds great, Monsty, but my husband won't touch a baked tomato.

Kim, I am guessing that a fair number of people will show up in Niagara planning to "decloak" only if they decide it looks like a good idea. Kind of like the RL equivelant of lurking.

I wanted to go so bad, and if it was not a month before the due date, we would be there. But Ryan came about a month early, and with the health issues, it just is not a good idea. But I wanna, wanna, wanna...

You will have a great time, peep meets are the bestest.

I'm so on board to plan a peep meet next year. But plan early so everyone can start saving or paying on it early. And before vacation plans are made.
