Walks

I'm serving bagel halves toasted with tomato & fontina cheese on top. Sounds like a nice way to start the day.

Walks are good. Do you like to take walks? Do you take them very often? By yourself or with someone? Are they more walks or hikes? Where do you go?

I find if I take a walk by myself during the day it puts me in a better state of mind. I found a gorgeous walking trail on campus that I can do in about 30 minutes. It runs right along the lake & then back into the woods. Awesome & peaceful. Of course a gaggle of joggers usually tramples by me and makes me feel uncool for just walking.

I had to walk into work this morning because I'm too cheap to park on campus when I have the car for the day (there are exceptions). I treated myself to a foofy coffee on the way since Starbuck's was on the way. It's a gorgeous morning out.

My nagging headache is still there, though. Why didn't I refill my ibuprofen in my purse?

I'm from WI as well. Eau Claire area. It's so great to hear ramblings of a fellow cheesehead. I have 'favorite'd your blog.

BAGELS! You just saved me from having to go to Brueggers. Carey's gonna be pissed!

I work right next to the Hudson River and there is a trail that runs prolly five miles along the river. It's truly lovely. I either run or walk depending on my shin splints. Totally makes my day and puts me in a great mood.

I walk around the track during DD's softball practices at night. It's .6 miles and I go around 5 times. *grin* 3 miles.

I did the elipitcal last night for the first "real" time. Holy crappygranola! I could barely walk afterwards.

mmm...walking. I love it. I wish I could do more. I take DS to the park now that it is nicer about 2 days a week while DD is in school. I follow him along the trails. Not a power walk really but we walk for a good hour. Once they both go to camp this summer I will walk myself so I get a good walk in.

Walking at lunch time when I worked in an office was one of my favorite things.

*hands Kim some Motrin*

I like to walk, but usually just around a few blocks in my neighborhood. There is a nature trail I like, but nothing fantastic.

And really, walking is better on your knees than jogging, so *pfft* to the joggers!

MM, thank you for the drugs and justifying my walking instead of running. :-)

I don't have any set paths that I walk. Michelle and I power walk the neighborhood. It's a two mile walk. I don't enjoy it. I do enjoy leasure walks though.

Breezy wins my Ambitious award for today. Do you walk alone or do other moms join you?

Bay Area Peeps: I just registered for my Nov. conference today. Yay!

I had a walk today; I had the two-year-old in the stroller and the three-month-old in the sling. We only went about a kilometre, but I feel like I exercised.

kim (weltek) said...

coco, you WERE exercising! Pushing kids around is a lot of extra work!

Breezy is not only easy, she's fast, too. Fast & Easy Breezy.

YAY!!!!! be jealous, peeps. I get to meet Kim in November. *hops*
All that hopping was my excercise for the day.

We are still trying to decide if we are coming a few days early or staying a few days late to do a few driving tours. I'll have to email you to talk about semi-touristy things.

I love taking the baby for a walk. Luckily, she still enjoys sitting in the stroller for an hour taking in the sights.

We live in a very urbanized, downtown kinda area (very grid-like road structure), so we head out just after dinner, and can go a thousand different routes without ever going the same way twice.

Oh, and we powerwalk. I have long legs, so nobody really cares to keep up with me. I don't mind the time alone with my girl though.

I'm a slug. I don't like to walk. I always think people are looking at me and laughing.

kim (weltek) said...

Jen, I'm sure Meemo would give you a ride in the stroller.

Bravie said...

oooh, okay. You have my email, right? because I changed it.
Eh, I'll PM it to you.

I'd be jealous if I hadn't already met her. Nyah, nyah.
I do like taking walks, on my lunch hour. It's nice when the weather is perfect, like today.

Ehem, Debs, you forgot about the $20 I slipped you to tell everyone that I'm fabulous.

Carey, yes email me your email. That sounded dorky. I never thought about the fact that email was both a noun and verb. Groovy!

Walking involves abandoning your car. That's just unAmerican.

I'm with Swami.

I don't walk much anymore because I do not live in an area conducive to walking. Too many stray dogs or dogs that are not kept on their propery. And there's nowhere to walk at my current job. So. I don't.

Every night at six, we have been strapping All Stah into a baby back pack and we have been going for a family walk. It is most satisfying.

I love walking and thinking. It makes time slow down.

Walking or working out always makes me feel better.

Ditto what Swami said. *grin*

Seriously, I used to love going on walks, especially in the woods. I prefer walking by myself, so I can set my own pace, and enjoy the quiet.

Michelle and I went on the nicest walk today. It was about 4 miles, all along the marina. We found all kinds of little grassy picnic places, little beach areas and all kinds of paths. We never knew about all of this stuff practically in our back yard.

Shawn and I walk the dogs with the neighbors and their dog. When it was nice out we went just about every day. Now that it's nice out again, we'll be going just about every day again. We always feel so much better after a nice long walk.
