Scallops are underappreciated. I like em, but never buy them. Alton Brown had a show on about cooking scallops last night, so now I'm jonesing for scallops.
I'm taking the day off work tomorrow. That makes me happy. I'm looking forward to sleeping in with cats surrounding me.
When did I quit caring about TAR & Survivor? TAR-FE scared me away, I think. I watched a little last night while I worked my ball. Survivor-meh, I've missed 2 eps this season & don't really care. If I'm home, I'll watch. If not, I don't sweat it.
Great episode of Lost last night. I've stood by the fact that Libby was a patient, not a doc since we were first introduced to her. Maybe she WAS a doc, but maybe something happened to put her there. She played a psycho too well on Guiding Light for her NOT to be fishy on Lost.

I can't imagine not watching TAR or Survivor. Can't begin to imagine. And I'm probably the only person in America who actually like the Familiy Edition. But, hey, what's not to like about Nick Linz. <------- He's in my Top 10 All Time Crushes.

I ate nice scallops at a French restaurant in Montreal once. They were delicious. But every other time since then that I've ordered them they've been a fishy disaster. I have never tried to cook them.
Have fun on your day off! I have to work (but just a few hours) on both Sat and Sun. Tom has next friday off, however. He invokes his Catholic childhood and takes that day off whenever he can.
If I stick to my current pace of getting work done, I'll be taking work home to do tomorrow!

Scallops are my favorite of all seafood when they are cooked properly. They should melt in one's mouth. Mmmmmmmmm, I just love them.

I agree, carey, scallops are only good when cooked perfectly.
Jen-scallops are seafood. They come in those pretty fan shaped shells. They are circle shaped & white. You can get sea (~2" in diameter) or bay (~1/2" diameter) scallops. Sea scallops are awesome grilled or quickly pan seared. Bay scallops are best in dishes with lots of other ingredients.
Tommorrow, you may present us with bacon wrapped scallops in your blog and I will not complain
I once ate scallops that were delicious so tried it again only to be very disappointed. I know I'll never try cooking them myself.

I'm very blase (sp?) about this birthday. I think it's because Chris, my sister, my neice, my SIL, my MIL, 2 of my nephews, and one of my friends also has a birthday within 3 weeks of mine (it starts March 23rd & runs til April 30th!). I get on birthday overload with all the activities, so I just sit back stay pretty low-key for mine. Plus, I've been so busy at work, I haven't had time to get in the birthday spirit.

Have fun on your day off! I really dislike seafood. Shrimp is OK, but that's about it for me. Maybe I've just never had properly cooked scallops. I can't imagine enjoying them, though.

I'm guessing that the 29 BD thread over there is real. A survey they talked about on the radio yesterday said that most people, if they could, would go back to the middle 40's. Me - 35. So you really do have the best years yet to come. (opps I said come also).
