Weekendy randoms

1. My sister and her hubby are going on our cruise with us! They just have to decide if they are bringing the kids.

2. Our 3-Day crew boss called last night (and surprisingly he didn't sound Bostonian). Boo and I are working a team of 9-12 on a morning pit stop. This is where peeps get water, Gatorade, snacks and go potty. I'm excited to help motivate the walkers and thank them. Apparently we have to choose a theme for the pit stop and it appears it will be pirates. Yaaaaaaaaar!

3. Are there some items you don't recycle, but should? Like I don't recycle peanut butter jars. I'm not cleaning that out.

1. That's awesome! Always better (IMO) to have friends along. How old are their kids?

2. You can yell out things like, "nice booty!" then?

3. Never even thought about peanut butter jars before. We don't go through a lot anyways.

1. I vote for no kids.

2. Ahoy. You know I'm such a goober. I have a pirate theme Stampin Up set. I wonder if this could somehow come in handy.

Pit Stop 2 is also where Kim will be cutting the heck out of some oranges. *big huge grin* I'll be eating PB&J ice cream looking sammiches.

3. Newspaper is a biggie for me at the house. Well, actually a lot of things are biggies for me at the house. I need to work on this. Especially since I'm already going to the Recycling Center for the office. I could certainly combine things.

Kids are 12 & 13, so a tolerable age to tote around for a week. I'd prefer it be an adults only thing, but if kids have to be along, these kids are ones I'd pick.

Heh...BOOty. :-)

*glares at Boo* I'll probably have to cut oranges, be covered in citrus stickiness and get attacked by killer bees. It will be all BOOty's fault.

I suck at recycling.

1. Fun! Hopefully you get along well with your sister and her husband. Have you traveled with them before? Years ago, before any of us had kids, Mr. Fro and I spent a weekend in New York with his brother, sister in law, and sister. It was a lot of fun. We've been thinking that eventually, we'll take a big family trip to Disney.

2. Pirates! Yaaaar! You can decorate the coolers for the snacks like treasure chests and put labels with XXX on them on the Gatorade so it looks like Rum.

2a. I'm a theme dork.

3. We recently put a second garbage can in the kitchen meant for recyclables, so I've been a lot better about it. It's easier than carrying everything out to the bin in the garage all the time. I should probably recycle more junk mail - sometimes I forget and just throw it in the trash. Otherwise I'm pretty good about washing jars. I have to admit to throwing the PB jar into the recycling without washing. Bad me.

1. Well-behaved 12 & 13 year olds would probably be okay unless they're boys.. Wait - they're boys, aren't they?

2. Cool! You can wear pirate hats and steal their shoes! What Fro said about the snack chests/coolers.

3. I recycle paper & newspapers, aluminum cans - and not much else. I so rarely use stuff from cans I never even think about them. Most jars are plastic now, correct? Sometimes I recycle them, sometimes not. But never peanut butter or other hard to clean jars. I am also a total scofflaw and toss my batteries and compact florescent bulbs into the regular trash.

People can't go potty by themselves? *blink*

LOL-I think helping people in the potty should be BOOty's job. And Swami...I forgot about stealing shoes!

Frodis-We get along GREAT with my sis & BIL. Their kids are a boy & girl and they are plain good kids...well, except the boy is smart and sneaky. A bad combination.

Sometimes I wonder if I'm wasting so much water, washing out a peanut butter jar, or a margarine container, that it's not worth the recycling. Sometimes I just toss it in the recycling bin, dirty.
