- For three years I have wanted a coconut cake for my birthday. I was going to make myself one this year. Then I got sick.
- The rib cookoff is in a month. I must make plans
- We are re-building our deck this month. We never did much with it (it doesn't even have rails) because we knew we wanted a patio and firepit and didn't know how the deck would tie in. Now that we've decided, we are auditioning decking materials and drawing up plans. My dad is coming tomorrow to consult.
- Yoplait Light is my new favorite yogurt.
- I have all the songs for the bloggy cd downloaded. Now I just have to burn the cds.
- I'm happy. Sick. But happy.

Happy Belated birthday Kim! Sorry you didn't get your coconut cake.
Good luck with the deck. Can't wait to see pictures when it's done.
I like the Dannon peach yogurt.
*smooch* Glad you are happy!!!
That's my Grandma's favorite cake.
I may have just called you old, or not. *grin*
I want a deck.
Mine is WW.
*smooch* For being happy.
<- - - Points over there
I think that age thingy needs a little updating, don't you?
Never had coconut cake but the thought of it sounds rather yummy.
Happy is good!
*glares at breezy & MC*
Happy birthday, Kimmers! *smooch*
When you are glaring at MC and Breezy, maybe you should use the glare that says "yeah, but I'm still younger than YOU!"
I am craving ribs now, hugely!
I need to convince someone to go out for dinner with me.
Now I want ribs and a coconut cake. and a Happy Meal.
"...for a boy."
*snort*
Would I be able to have some ribs if I give you my share of the coconut cake?
We need to rebuild a couple decks. The one at the cottage (Breezy and Carey can attest to this) is in really bad shape and it's way too small. It's on the to do list this summer. We have one at home that needs work too but we're never here during the summer so it seems to be a bit of a waste.
Feel better sweetiepie! *birthday smooooches for you*
Happy Birthday! I love yoplait light. Have you ever made a pie using yogurt? Yummy.
Happy belated birthday!
So, how do decking materials prepare for auditions, I wonder?
Alton made a coconut cake on Good Eats the other night.. it looked like a LOT of work. Hope you are feeling better and get some cake before too long!
Waaaahhhh! I want coconut cake!!!
Sorry you were/are sick. :(
{{hugs}}
Nice list.
We used Trex for the flooring part of our deck. I wish now that we had used it for the rails as well because it would have been maintenance-free, but that was too much at the time.
Right now, it looks bad because it needs to be stained again.
I'm not a coconut eating person, but for some reason I like coconut cake.
I hope you're feeling better. I too love coconut cake. Yum.
We replaced our deck floor with some crap from Lowe's. It's the not wood stuff. We painted the wood rails to match. Within a year, the whole thing faded and got spotty with mold. Now the rails don't match, and the mold is very, very difficult to remove. Absolute crap, but it doesn't splinter or need to be stained.
Speaking of moldy decks...my dad works at a lumber yard as a contractor specialist, so gets all the good scoops on decking from both the companies and the people that install decks.
He said many, many of the composites have had mold problems. He steered us towards Azek Procell decking and we've agreed. There are no wood fibers involved, so no mold. It's maintenance free, and as Boo said, that's HUGE for me. Apparently a lot of contractors in our area are refusing to use any of the other composites. It's the same price as others, and I think the brown one looks fairly natural (it's always been a complaint of mine about the fakey look of non-lumber decking).
Happy Belated Birthday, and hope you are feeling better.
I wish we had a deck on our house - it was built in 1985 and still no deck off the sliding glass doors in the dining room. There's just a white railing there outside the glass doors.
I'm glad you've put in the proper research. I wish we had. Does your dad have any suggestions for getting rid of the mold. It seems to be in the "grain" so it's been very difficult to remove. We've powerwashed with high power bleach and it comes.right.back.
I think the worst of it though is the color fading. Ours was a nice taupe/brown color when we installed it. Now, it's a washed out gray. Make sure yours won't fade!
I'll ask my dad about the mold and what people are doing to fix it. Of course he said lots of peeps are ripping it out, so there might not be a good solution.
The lumber yard my dad works at laid planks of the Azek stuff down in fall of 2006 outside their offices. It's currently 100% unfaded, so hopefully that bodes well for the longer haul.
Coconut cake - bleaaah.
But Happy Birthday!!!
Everytime I make ribs my DD and her BF show up so we have to share, and Tom and I don't get to just stuff face. It is SO not fair!
We rebuilt our deck with cedar. I really don't like the look of any of the fake wood stuff.
I love Yoplait light too - almost all the flavors.
I can't wait for my cd! How are we supposed to pay you again?
