Haircut

I think I'm getting a haircut today. It's about a billion months past due. I hate going to get my haircut. Hate.it. I can't even explain why. Fancy salon, cheap salon, it doesn't matter. I still hate it.

In other news, it's spring break on campus, so it's quiet around work. Students are gone, professors are still on contract, but many of them take off anyway. My boss is in Australia, my coworker across the hall is off with her son who is on spring break from elementary school. My coworker next door called in sick. How this will impact my day:

  • I'm having tea rather than coffee. Didn't want to make a pot when it's just me here.
  • I might take off early for my haircut.
  • I might go out to lunch with Nolay.

Absolutely, go to lunch with Nolay. Take as long as you want.

I think many women hate having their hair cut. I don't mind it at all because it grows out very fast. I'm just a procrastinator in general.

What kind of tea?

1. Black tea with orange.
2. I went to lunch at Brasserie V with Nolay and had a nice portabella sandwich with pasta salad.
3. It's time to leave for a haircut. *groan*

Haircuts can be very traumatic, to say the least. And is it just my salon, but the lighting is always atrocious. It's bad enough you are sitting there with wet hair and a cape that is in the world's most unflattering shade of grey/black/navy etc., but the lighting makes me look 5,000 times worse.

Oh my gosh, yes! The lighting is terrible! My face always looks ashen and I can see every zit on my face.

My hair is "ok." It's just so frustrating that I'm trying to grow it out and now if feels short again.

I missed this yesterday because I was in meetings all day.

I love to get my hair cut. I think it's because I also get my brows waxed, and I love to talk about The Bachelor and other TV things with my hairdresser. I'm actually super excited about getting my hair cut tomorrow for this very reason. The last time I was there, I wasn't watching, and then I caught up and watched. LOL.

I have decided that I'm going to get one more short cut and then go long again for a bit. While I love the short hair, there is only so much you can do with it. I miss ponytails and wearing baseball caps without looking like a boy.

I am thinking of going more "Sharon Osborne" this time rather than "Kate Gosselin." I need to find a picture.

My friend that recently finished chemo is going "Ellen" when her hair gets a little more filled in. Her hair was already kind of like this, so not a big leap.

I find I really am drawn to short, very styled hair on women, but for some reason I yearn for long hair now.

So you're saying you're attracted to Boo & her short sexy hair?

I'm not a fan of getting my hair done. Since I made the awful decision to commit to highlights/colour, going to the salon is a half-day event. I'm just not that patient.

Plus, I go to a stylist who owns the busines with her husband. They are terrible time managers but I like the way she cuts.

Last time, though, she got behind schedule so he butchered me. I hate the way he cuts. He's not familiar with my head.

One of the daycare moms recently shaved her hair to raise money for children with cancer. She looks to good as it is coming back in. I'm actually considering her look. LOL.
