The Library

Since when did it become o.k. to be loud in the library? I have been to two different public libraries multiple times in the last few weeks and there was a steady noise level from both staff and patrons. Maybe it's the summer atmosphere with more kids around, I don't know. Makes it harder for me to get my homework done. :-(

In unrelated news, Boo will appreciate that I went to Panera for lunch. I had the summer corn chowder and hummus & veggie sandwich. The corn chowder was creamy (a light cream texture, though), so I had an apple for my side to make up for it. :-)

I feel like I should add something more exciting, but I've got nuthin'.

I was super excited until you said "hummus." We just had this discussion at Bunco last week. It's something about the word that kills it for me.

But Yay for Panera. Did you like the corn chowder? I've not tried that yet. I've been on a Twofor (surprised?) kick with the Chicken Caesar and the Forest Mushroom. And lately I've swapped the apple for the whole grain baguette.

I've traded in my mochas for decafs and have had no Panera cookies in three weeks.

Today was a Moe's day since I had to go get my brows waxed. There is usually a dilemma over Moe's, Panera, Jersey Mike's, Noodle Co. or Five Guys. And Moe's usually wins every time.

Oh yes, the library. How rude. I think it's a summer thing.

Our libraries are still pretty quiet I think, but not like they were decades ago - in tomblike-like quietude.

I usually pass on Panera. It's too wholesome for me or something. Everybody inside looks like they just came from a PTA meeting.

Boo, try saying xxxumus.

I love Paneras. I might go there tomorrow.

Our library seems to be quiet, but it's been about a year since I have gone in. Hey! Maybe I'll stop in there while I'm off this week. I love libraries.

Libraries are almost outdated, but I still go irregularly. Perhaps the noise is a summer thing. At least people are there, using it.

The corn chowder is really yummy, Boo. I get the whole grain baguette when I get the soup and salad combo.

Puffy, our libraries are always full to the gills. I think Madison is very "neighborhood" oriented and they are almost all nestled within neighborhoods. Three of our Madison libraries have had major upgrades or are newly built. Although they did not put power outlets by the study tables in the new one I go to. That wasn't very forward thinking. Spring Green (much smaller, rural area) isn't as busy and has very irregular hours due to funding.

Sadly, no Panera in my neck of the woods.. how I'd love a bear claw. My hubby enjoys their baked breakfast souffle things.. (gets them when he goes to St Louis for business..)
