Delicious photos HERE!

A pretty flower pic is a good way to start. I didn't get that many good pictures of the party.

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiib carnage.

My sister and her daughter.

Post rib pig-out relaxation
The beer: Chris's homebrewed "Sticky Fingers" and Bell's Oberon

The rib cookoff was a success! It's so nice to throw parties and get household projects done. I swear that's 50% of why I throw parties. It forces me to clean and get those pesky projects finished.

We are renaming second place the "Chris Nolet Always a Bridesmaid" prize. His ribs took second again this year. There were 10 entries-more than I expected! Mine came in somewhere in the middle.

The weather was super hot, but our backyard gets a lot of shade after 3 pm. We started out with chairs under the tree canopy along the woodline, then inched our way back to the patio. The addition of icicle lights behind the lattice on the deck was a hit as the darkness crept in.

Poor Chris. At least he has a reward named after him now! Are you going to publish the winning recipes or anything like that?

I have a bunch of white mini-light strings circling the ceiling of my screen porch. They shine just the right amount of gentle light for an evening event, don't they? And they look so pretty & twinkly - like fallen stars. One could almost overlook the lattice. :)

I did not abandon my blog! I put up a new entry right before I commented here.

Icicle lights are a fantastic and inexpensive way to light the backyard.

Any ribs left?

Well he is the winner of the Best Damn Chili Period.

Fricking ribs. We went to a party this weekend where the host slow cooked ribs and pork butts. OMH, the fricking ribs. A group of us stood in the kitchen in literal hog heaven.

I love ribs. A whole bunch.

Been toying with adding twinkly lights to the deck. Maybe I'll do that this weekend. While I'm eating ribs. *drool*

I finally got them downloaded from the camera. Tomorrow when I'm in Madison with my laptop (for the fast internet connect), I shall upload a few!
