WTF? Chris has asthma.
And he'll be getting a sleep study done soon for his snoring issues.
Ye gads.

This blog is a collection of things on my mind. Could be serious, could be rambling idiocy. I invite you all to read, debate, ridicule, *whack*, and even give me a little love.

Yikes. That sucks. At least tehy were able to id it though.
My brother has had asthma his entire life. He has a little puffer thing when he really has trouble breathing. I hope the cats won't affect it. *hugs Chris*
All the men in his family have either chronic brochitis or Gastroespohagal Reflux Disease or something...talk about getting some bad genetics.
Oh no!
*sends hugs*
awww. {{hugs}}
Yikes!
Ack. How the hell did he develop asthma at this point in life???
Crazy, huh? He's on antibiotics to clear up the infection he also developed and is on Prednizone to help him breathe.
The news just keeps getting better in weltek land. The rental car company is filing a damage claim against me...but doesn't indicate what for. I suspect it's a tire issue. The tire light came on as I returned the car to the airport.
Hopefully it will all be covered by my credit card insurance thingy, but it's still a lot of paperwork and hassle.
My evil sister Carole has had asthma all her life and spring is always the worse season. She is allergic to everything including all kinds of pollen - but some of the allergies are worse than others. Driving cross-country with her in the spring is like taking an allergan tour of the country. For some allergan-related reason she will alternately swell/choke up and then get normal until the next baddie hits her and she has an attack again.
So my suggestion, based on my sister and also the knowledge that frequent exposures can exacerbate the condition, is this:
Walk around your property and write down the name of every tree, bush and plant you can. Get someone to help if you need it - WI has a Master Gardener program that can probably find a volunteer to come out and help you do this.
Maybe Chris is allergic to maple tree pollen, and you have a big maple tree right outside the bedroom window that has been sensitizing him since you bought your house - and this year it finally triggered asthma.
When he is feeling better he can get tested for different allergans, but they have way more possible things they can test for than the standard 30 or 40 things they usually do in a standard allergan sensitivity test. That's why I suggest learning what grows around your house first - so you can be as specific as possible.
I didn't explain that well but I hope it makes a bit of sense.
Good idea, Swami. After his further evaluation next week, I think we'll know if it's allergy induced and then can start eliminating triggers.
Wow. Sorry.
I can only imagine, especially going through what we have with Conner, who hasn't been diagnosed with it.
*hugs to Chris*
Poor Chris. That sucks.
I have allergy induced asthma. I didn't have symptoms until we got a dog (when I was 12.) For me, while I tested as being allergic to all kinds of pollens and molds and trees and dust (etc.) it's really only animals that get me.
I hope Chris finds that it's a single trigger that can be avoided, like a seasonal tree or pollen or something like that. For me, as long as I avoid dogs/cats, I don't have to take any medication at all. When I visit people who have pets I can usually manage it by taking a pill and using my inhaler periodically.
